I was born and raised in Texas...live in Kentucky now....i blast this song just to ruffle people's feathers.....my heart and home will always be in Texas
I used to roll through the barrio in the DC area blasting Wagner, Vivaldi, Strauss, etc... Those bangers on the corners probably thought I was nuts. They all knew my car. I'd see them point like, "Here comes that idiot again." Every now and then, instead of blasting classical, I'd roll through with some Cypress Hill or something and they'd all laugh at me. - Keith
Born and raised, still reside here in central texas. Obviously ive heard this song all my life, still plays on the radio. I never thought about it being about the women. After you said that, I thought about it and, yea, youre right. Jeez, 20 plus years of listening I never put 2 and 2 together. 🤣
Welcome back! Totally glad you aren't dead. This was a cool song they had a lot of fun with, but they have a lot of more serious songs as well that showcase their vocals. My favorite by them (song and video) is "What Might Have Been" I would also suggest 'Someone Else's Star" My mom and I happened to hear this today, so I am going to suggest "Little Rock" by Collin Raye.
@@beappleby Oh that's right. I do love that song. He was a good singer too, but he sort of gets lost in the most recommended names. The song "From This Moment On' by Shania Twain has a version where she sings it with Bryan White, and it is beautiful. I like her version but the one with him is also incredible. I always thought theirs together would be the perfect wedding song.
Absolutely ecstatic to see that y'all are back! I had to go back and rewatch older videos to lessen the withdrawals I was going through waiting for a new video! Lol

Just caught up with you guys, been down for a few months. You're right about the ZZ Top vibe. Saw them at Harley Davidson 105 anniversary, still had the long beards and still packed the stands. My opinion is that God has blessed this country overall, but Texas is special.
Fantastic song! Have you watched the Documentary Granger made along with the song? I requested it and suggested it might be a good song for Memorial Day. If my memory serves me right (no guarantee right now after my TBI) Steven replied to my comment and said he had sent in a Bribe for it! Hopefully that's the case because I really want to hear their thoughts and opinions on it!
Yeah, you guys are back. I missed your videos. The song was fun and I enjoyed it. Never been to Texas but it’s on the top of my list. Hope work is slowing down for you guys.
Welcome Back!! The 1st time I heard Little Texas it was at the Chasco Fiesta concert, which is/ was a county music. Until that is about half the artists would cover Rock-a-billy, Rock and in one case Metal. I saw someone else mention 'Highway Don't Care' by Tim Magraw, Keith Urban and Taylor Swift... I'll put in another vote for that one.
Great reaction and I've been to a Texas roadhouse near me and they have played this song there more than once. Little Texas is a great band love their music.
So first time I heard this song was back in 2017 after Hurricane Harvey. I know y'all didn't care for Home Free, but I thought it was kinda a cool thing they did. Tim Foust the mind numbingly low Bass in the group is a Texas native, and his childhood neighborhood was decimated by the hurricane. So the group recorded a cover of this song and released it as a fundraiser for the hurricane relief efforts.

While I can’t be positive I’d say it’s very possible Little Texas was influenced by ZZ Top. They said while trying to make it if they went up north they were told they were too country but when they played in the south they were told they were too rock. So it took them a while to make it.
Glad you two are back on the channel. Love Little Texas music! 4th of July coming up, so hope you can get to Toby Keith’s “Made In America” official music video. The official video fits perfectly with the celebration of our independence. Waiting impatiently on your next video.

No comment on the Texas landmarks being used in the video? Filmed at Southfork Ranch - known from the hit 70's-80's TV show DALLAS. Who shot JR Ewing? The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, the Alamo, the rodeo, Longhorns, the hot women! The song is about God created Texas on the 8th day after he rested on the 7th day. They were inferring that Texas is a slice of heaven and the girls are beautiful. Billy Gibbons isn't a great guitar player. The best Texans would be Willie, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Freddy King, Dimebag Darrell, Johnny Winter and Eric Johnson then Billy Gibbons.
Kathy here - I love watching your reactions. You guys missed out on country music growing up. There are just so many artists out there you haven't even touched on. One that is a great song you need to listen to is George Thorogood - One bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer! He has a great catalog to listen to. Still researching for a great NC Bourbon!!
Glad to see y'all back. Missed you. Yell on Bourbon guys but I do have a great song for to do while your drinking bourbon it by Moonshine Bandits and song is called Baptized me in Bourbon
The funny thing about this band is that they are not named after Texas and most of the members of the band are not from Texas. The band was formed in their studio on Little Texas Street in Nashville and they named their band after the street. This is still a good song. Lol
Yes, I didn't discover Stevie Ray until he was already gone. There will never be another SRV. Stevie is next level. He's up there with legends that will never be replicated. Hendrix. Terry Kath. I love Billy's phrasing and style, but, it's not the same ballpark as SRV, Jimi, and Terry. - Keith
You were gone? Just kidding, I have checked my notifications daily waiting for you to reappear. I did read you comment on the community board saying you were busy. Good to have you back. You were focused on the guitar work and I am thinking about the Maddy and Tae song "Girl in a Country Song". I did not realize it started going bad for a girl in a country song way back that far. I tune in to you guys for the education, you both always have interesting things to say. As a Texan, I will not join the mob hunting you down regarding your remarks.
I think this is not a song that was made for technical analysis. I’m pretty sure this song exists for the sole purpose of giving Texans something to barn dance to. And the video seems to exist to give Texan men something to drool at. That said, as a Texas woman, overall, I think the song is kitschy, and cute. I wouldn’t say no if a cowboy offered to swing me around the dance floor with it. P.S. While I’m here, I’m going to request Wayfaring Stranger. And as far as a booze suggestion goes, my son’s orthopedic surgeon says High West Whiskey is not to be missed. I haven’t tried it myself. Maybe I can enjoy it vicariously through y’all.
