I'm just starting out as a freelance illustrator, so there's still some learning to do, and I'm just starting to reach out to potential clients, so would love to do postcards soon after COVID-19 is over and people are back at work! Also, would there be a chance that you could do a video on copyright and licensing as well?
You got this! This is a great time to prep for everything and work on your folio, gathering your contact list etc, so when it's the right time you can send everything out! I definitely want to do a video on that one day! It's a very tricky subject with a lot of legal stuff involved so because I want to make sure I am not giving out any wrong information, it's a video that'll come after a while since it involves a lot of research! :')
Your videos are so sweet! I love seeing you get more into youtube content! Where did you get this cute jazzy background music! I've been on the look out for music just like this but I haven't found anything like this thats available for video use!
Thanks for the awesome video again! I've also been "putting off" joining the SCBWI!! lol But I will soon! I hear it's worth it. I'd love to attend more art-related conventions and seminars, like CTN, TCAF, Lightbox expo, Comic con and so on, but am not sure what the application process is like and how hard it is to get into these conventions or if you have to be invited to them or not. Especially coming from abroad and trying to gauge if it's worth spending the money on a trip to go to these conventions... It would be awesome if you made some sort of video on that topic maybe if you think it'd be helpful information to share. I know I'd love to know! Also Gallery Nucleus!! (Maybe once this whole social distancing and travel thing is resolved of course lol.) Thanks! :D
Of course! I'll get more into it in the future. You do have to apply to these cons and the ones you mentioned are pretty hard to get into but of course there's no harm in applying! Gallery Nucleus you have to be invited to, but I believe they have calls to art sometimes.

I'm not sure if you'll see this considering this video was made over a year ago, but I was wondering if sending out snail mail also applied to the animation industry as well? I wanted to get into concept art and vis dev work and wanted to know how common it was in that industry, considering I haven't heard about this until now! This is a super cool idea though, thank you for sharing :)
Unfortunately snail mail doesn’t apply to animation studios! Your best bet is to connect through job postings, at animation fairs, and networking at events and social media!
Question: I would love to break into illustration. One place only takes submissions via snail mail, and so I am guessing this is where the postcards come in. I noticed that a lot of designs on the backs leave no room for writing messages. Do illustrators not write messages to the art directors for context, or is it really just the contact info? Thanks!
Hi Anoosha, great video again. I've written a children's book & have some rough drawings of four characters. How do you work out costs for illustrating characters? If we could work out concepts, is this a job that you would accept?
