I was at the show in Toronto but it was awesome to experience it again through your eyes. Hope you guys express more of your thoughts on the concert in a future vid.
Errrrrmm not too sure what to think about this knotfest lark..... not going to knock it though
In context i'm used to multi band festivals being outdoor with crowds of at least 25-30,000 and usually 70-80,000 people (woodstock style), where your standing in a muddy field, big screens and sound stations scattered around the grounds, and definitely no chairs to sit on... Sitting down at a metal concert!?! US concerts seem to be wayyyy different from UK ones...
Though to be fair you had 3 great bands and an intimate setting to get to see them in, and from your video seems everyone was into the music... Glad you enjoyed Chuck how did Julliette and Raf handle it?
Holy shit. Gojira played toxic garbage island and nobody even moved. Such a shame... i hope you had a good time tho
@@InconSteveHable There are some metal festivals in North America that are similar to the European ones. This was definitely not that... built as a road show. Raf enjoyed it but I think still a bit intimidated by the whole thing. For Juliette, this was a first metal show so...

Unfortunately that's what normally happens when they put the time on the ticket stub, that the first group goes on, instead of when gates open.......many people around here are used to the other way

Seating at a metal show? That’s just not right.
There's seats at the Darien lake amphitheater where they came last week. There were a shit ton of metal concerts there last month. But whenever I go and an act comes on, no one in sight is even sitting lol. The seats are pointless.
No one is seated but no mosh pits though... and thats just not right.

I was lucky that knotfest was indoors in my city so Behemoth brought out the pyrotechnics etc., really added to the performance and atmosphere.
Behemoth is badass, I saw them in Pittsburgh when Nergal came back from battling leukemia 🤘💀🤘
Behemoth also is better when they get more than 35 mins to play
Hell yeah I seen and met them while they did the metal allegiance tour. They headlined with Goatwhore, Black Crown Initiate and 1349 (they sucked tho lol).

What a venue. I don't know if we even have such venues here in Europe, but even if, no promoter would even think of putting a metal show in such a venue. It's like a Disneyland version of a metal venue :D

Yeah volbeat was not the best choice for a opening act for Slipknot. Volbeat should have been first. Then Gojira followed by Behemoth in my opinion.
I would have put Gojira third.

Volbeat is a better band than the two openers. But didnt belong on this bill. Maybe with stone sour. But not slipknot.

Yeah, seats all the way to the front. General admission in the back where the moshpit happens.
This venue wasn't meant for metal shows, but it is good for regular shows.....Yankee Stadium & Giant's stadium were both great for big events

I love Volbeat. I've seen Slipknot in that very venue 4 times and other venues 10 or 11 times. Always killer.
Volbeat killed it, man, they did a great job and I will definitely be listening to there music from now on.

Looked like a lot of fun! I'm hoping to see Tool in November the same week as my birthday. Will be a dream come true if I can get tickets. I'd also like to see Slipknot one day. Love the first 2 records and the new one. Wasn't huge on their stuff in between.

I just saw Slipknot live for the first time at knotfest. I got into them right after they stopped touring after .5 the grey chapter. Slipknot got me into metal, and I know most of their songs by heart, so it was fucking awesome seeing them.
It was a show for their fans for sure!
I seen them on the 23 in Pittsburgh... The show is so Awesome.... Glad you guys had fun...and the footage you got was A+.

20 minutes north of where I grew up and less than 10 miles from my sister's house. Glad you all had a great time. The tall thin red lights Gojira had spread out across the back of the stage are very popular. I saw Coheed and Cambria almost exactly two months ago and they used the same lights at the front sides of the stage. They also had a big banner, except that dropped down instead of getting sucked up.
John Campbell Kept thinking that if someone has epilepsy, those lights would do it...
@@ChemicalReactions If I had epilepsy, I'd never go to a live show. Way too many flashing lights. I know the Coheed show I mentioned came with an epilepsy warning.
If you ever get a chance, could you do Coheed? I don't know if you are familiar. They are more or less prog metal as all but one album are part of a single concept. But they are great and my brother-in-law's cousin is the co-lead guitarist. Juliet may appreciate that most of the lyrics are melodically sung, though in a distinctive voice.

@@ChemicalReactions Glad to hear! Crowd was packed as I looked behind me. And yes there was a ton of energy, which is probably just because we were closer so it was easier to feed directly off of the band's energy, which is tangible. Tickets just went on sale for their UK tour and I managed to get tickets for the London gig late January. Will be my 5th time seeing them live, cannot wait!

PNC sucks. GA (lawn) is in the very back and on a hill. From lawn to stage is all seating. My hate for PNC outweighed my love for Slipknot and prevented me from going myself lol.

I'm glad you all had a good time. I was at Knotfest in Burgettstown, PA a week ago and had a great time, as well. All of the bands sounded amazing ... especially Slipknot. I was a little bummed that Behemoth and Gojira got small crowds in Burgettstown, too. They're great bands, so I don't get it. Anyway, great vlog.

Gojira were headliner at Hellfest 2019 the 1st day, they play with big video screen behind the band. Tool were headliner the 3rd day. I live 2 hours away from Christian, Gojira's lead guitarist, he's in the South West of France at the border between France & Spain near San Sebastian, they are close to nature & mountains. I do not know if Joe Duplantier still lives in Brooklyn

LOL! That's exactly right! There's a general admission area in the back where the moshpit was in full force.
@@ChemicalReactions Ah nice, isn't limited to set number of seats, but can still keep set number of hairs dry / in shade. (still rememer one festival where there was no shade and I burned so bad standing there whole day).

You guys has not no ideia how insane is metal concert here. I must say, it's a experience that you need to live one day in your life. For a example, I wasn't able to touch my feet on the ground on the Slipknot's first two songs, Rock In Rio 2015. The crowd was moving so wildly that I was carried like a drop of water on a wave. :D

lol - yeah as others have said, seats??? looks like a very well behaved crowd (my first Gig was at the Monsters of Rock festival in Donnington Park - a much more 'lively' affair on the part of the crowd! 😂 - but glad you had a good time - and the music / bands sounded awesome! 🤘👍

I went to Knotfest last Saturday and it was amazing! I loved Gojira and Slipknot's set. I am not the biggest fan of Behemoth but I will agree with most of the comments that Behemoth should headline a tour so they can play in the dark. Volbeat was ok and they put on a good show but I was mostly there for Gojira and Slipknot lol

For people complaining about the Venue: considering you were there with your kids and it was their first show from what I understand, seems like a good start! You can always go to bigger venues later! Rather have room for improvement, and when the kids are older you can go to a venue where people stand and they have Moshpits... If they like that then go to Wacken haha \m/

Ultra-cool ! You all need to get matching Knotfest tattoos now. Looks like it was a great venue and I'm surprised that the show wasn't age restricted. Good to see Raph wearing earplugs too - I make my own from tissue paper but I wouldn't recommend doing that. I'm always telling my nine year old, "There's a proper time and place to use bad language." "Where is that dad?" "Er….well..at a heavy metal concert !" Cheers guys.

I was at the Knotfest in Tinley Park, IL and the show was awesome. My only complaint was that Volbeat should've played first in the show. Behemoth should've played before Slipknot.
Gojira played flying whales and shooting star DTE..
They switched two songs from one day to the next (first and fourth).
