The father of the armorer who was hired, Hannah Gutierrez, has been a well-known, experienced armorer and weapons expert in Hollywood for many years. As we now know, his daughter wasn't experienced enough to handle this job.
I don't think experience has anything to do with common sense. Don't put live rounds in a gun on set......period

Hannah Gutierrez was 23 years old she was not qualified and with the covid pandemic regular film industry protocols were not followed which is how this tragedy occurred ... the weakest person in a long chain of people including actor who was also executive producer for this movie should also be held accountable. Releasing Hannah recorded phone calls was outrageous she was in jail and said things she was not proud of but people have no idea how much duress she was under. I hope Hannah has learned some hard lessons from this ordeal and she can do her time and put this behind her.

Even if Hannah forgot her jail calls are recorded, she certainly didn't show any remorse or personal responsibility on the phone. If she had, it really might have made the court believe she was truly sorry for her actions, and the judge might have handed down a lesser sentence.

What's with her attitude? She was the armorer. Not some random person.
Her attitude raises red flags. Shows that she has little or no remorse for what happened. Makes her look like she knew what she was doing that day. It was either negligence or deliberate. I doubt it was negligence by the armorer. If you can't tell a blank round from a live round WHILE you are loading the bullets, you should be nowhere near firearms or ammunition.

My gut tells me that unless someone explains how those live rounds got on the set , I'm assuming they set up Baldwin. It would not take much.

That’s basically what manslaughter is. She didn’t mean for someone to die, but her gross negligence resulted in loss of life. I hope the judge forces her to serve the full 18 months on this one. She would’ve gotten a lot more time if she was charged with the cocaine she was able to get rid of. Which is nuts, you’d think manslaughter would get you more time than cocaine.

It was her responsibility to hand Baldwin a revolver with 6 dummy rounds for a close up shot. She had live ammunition mixed in with the dummy rounds. There is no way Baldwin would have been able to tell he had been given a revolver loaded with 1 live round mixed in with the dummy rounds. It's 100٪ her fault.

These producers were too cheap to hire the proper people which is typical in a low budget film and then they want to blame others when it was their sole responsibility to make sure qualified people were hired and proper safety protocols were followed and baldwin has been around long enough to know that. He also knew that what was happening with the fire arms was not normal safety procedures

@@ifixboats5066Because he disregarded Screen Actors Guild (SAG) safety bulletins that say the actor needs to treat every gun as if it's loaded with a live round, the actor should never point the gun at anyone and the actor should never put their finger on the trigger until ready to shoot. (Basic gun safety). It was the armorer's job to check the gun before giving it to Baldwin, but Baldwin also bears some responsibility for the horrible outcome.

It's normal. All defense attorneys advise their clients to clean up and dress well for the trial, so the jury will view them more favorably.

Who brought live ammo to the movie set ?
New Mexico officials have already investigated and answered that question. The New Mexico ammo supplier for the film didn't send live rounds to the set, only dummy rounds. Hannah Gutierrez, the armorer, brought some of her own ammo to the set--which she wasn't supposed to do, and which included live rounds--and her live rounds got mixed in with the dummy rounds.
Shows if you are in a protected class, you can get away with anything. This is all Alec's fault.
Both he and the armorer share responsibility for this tragic outcome.

She failed to do this, and as a producer and experienced lead actor, Alec Baldwin was aware of her incompetence.
