Watched them in New Orleans. The band was so together. Mikael talked a lot which was really cool. Best Damn concert I have ever been too.

Always feel weird to talk to the band members like this, because Mikael writes everything. Does Mendez put his own style on things or does he just play off a sheet Mikael puts Infront of him?

He didn't talk about it much in this interview but I know from previous conversations with him that Mikael writes and arranges everything but he pretty much gives all the other members their own creative freedom to change up their own parts after he's done. So while Mikael is the main songwriter, every record is a collaborative effort in the end.

@@TheMetalDiplomat especially with mendez, mikael said he basically just writes very simple bass lines, at least compared to what mendez comes up with

Mikael specifically said recently that Mendez’ contributes totally free and that his basslines are always a big lift compared to the demo bass.
