Glad you enjoyed the book, and it sounds like it's structured and written well. It's definitely a me thing more than a book thing, but I avoid these sorts of books because even when they're actually substantive, they end up making me feel shamed and demotivated rather than inspired. Liked hearing your commentary though. Curious what you'll think of the author's other book. Have a good one.
@@BryanM.R.-prionic1 Yeah I don’t typically like these books because they are extremely redundant and rarely ever are specific enough to be applicable. This one just seemed to resonate with me and I was not ready to like it as much as I did. I also heard the story through the author’s voice since I know him and I think that gave a slight advantage to it, but I highly recommend it nevertheless.
@DrL_Reads I hear you. Curiosity might eventually get the better of me on this one. Speaking of curiosity, I'm about two-thirds through that "Asylum Confessions (Merry With All That Murder 😂)" book that Trav's Book Shelf mentioned recently. As far as psychiatric hospital confessional fiction goes, it's no Walker Percy's "Lancelot," that's for sure. 😁 There isn't much depth to it that I can sense. It definitely could use another pass by a copy editor. And a good portion of the thing hinges on a condition that a PSYC 101 level layman like me wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole since I understand it to be a rather controversial diagnosis. That being said, I enjoy the narrator's sardonic voice, and I'd be lying if I claimed it hasn't kept me thumbin' the e-pages. So it's not terrible if you're looking for a bit of entertainment. Just know that the cover is a pretty fair indicator of the sort of thing you're getting into. 😉
@@BryanM.R.-prionic1 Well I believe it is only 9.99 on Amazon. Also, it might be a good gift for someone if you aren’t thrilled with it. The book has held up well after moving it, throwing it in boxes, and reading it. I don’t have any plans to buy more books so the asylum confessions will have to wait or come across my visual field at a dollar book sale or something. I’m still intrigued, even if only for entertainment thought I like asylum books to dive into history and mystery if possible. Thanks for the heads up though! Still have that chicory ☕️ on my mind. Not a fan of caffeine free but I read that I can mix it with my caffeinated coffee grounds? Might be good in the evening if I want a warm caffeine free beverage.
@DrL_Reads Yeah, a lot of people mix chicory with coffee grounds. In fact, I'd strongly advise it if you've never tried the stuff before. Any good Turkey Day plans?
This sounds very cool! Thabks for sharing Logan
Sounds motivating..
