Exactly, why Square Enix haven't remaster this gem yet Maybe because complicated rights issues? I mean they're still Squaresoft when they created this game
@@nekopaw8730 the reason they won't remake it is because they feel that they will not make money on it. The original creating team works at Monolith now, and the man that is actually responsible for writing the story works somewhere else. To top it all off, Square will not sell nor give the rights to Monolith which I personally think is crap. They still want to use the characters and rights to the game for crap like WOFF (I hate that damned game btw) as hidden bosses and crap. I personally think it is all crap and completely agree that it NEEDS a remake, not a remaster but a remake. They need to sell the rights to Monolith and get the team back together and do the remake. I bet it would actually sell very well.
Also for what it is worth now I don't know for sure or not, but from what I have heard is that FF7 remake (it was already perfect with just a few weird things here and there) they are going to be releasing it in "episodes". I hope this isn't true, I turned my back on Square after FF10 because I felt that the rest after that were complete hot trash. However, if they do release it like I have heard, I will refuse to every buy another single Square related anything.
@@shtshw I agree with you 100% on Xenogears. It was a tragedy the way the 2nd disc shaped Xenogears' story. @@MistaFreeman1 it really is trash how they will keep the rights from the original creating team just to use the "Xenogears" as a hidden boss in other IP's. They really should consider selling the rights if you ask me. Unfortunately until then, there will not be a remake/remaster. From a storyline perspective, it makes sense that Andvari is needed to take down Alpha Weltall. 500 years before the game's events, Alpha Weltall was used to lead the Diabolos Invasion, which was repelled by Bart's ancestor, who piloted Andvari.
Didn't Grahf have a connection to Zohar back then so he had a super powered omnigear and soloed everyone like they were nothing. Lacan had to regain control from Grahf and surrender to end the Diablos Invasion

@@robmalcolm8042 It is. I'm playing it again. Without any guides this time. I even went into the Gebler area in Bledavik for the first time. Good fun. Narrowly lost this battle, though. No resets!
I -- by some bizarre happenstance -- beat this guy on my first playthrough because I'd been specializing in mitigation by avoidance from the beginning, and in boosting the HELL out of Billy's "Jesse Cannon." So, I luckily had this party and a similar set-up, AND the Trader's Card. First playthrough, got that awesome Slayer Robe, which is a damn fine male armor...! I think it sold decent, too, iirc. Either way, my subsequent play-throughs made me wonder, "How the f$%# did I EVER BEAT THIS GUY?!" To note: the cut-scene that follows the battle made me all, "WTF?!, why is Fei on the ground?!," 'cuz we'd won. The other playthroughs helped me realize that they didn't expect you to ever win, still...I think they should'a given a special "OH SHIT HE WON!" cut-scene just for victory points, eh?
Basically, if Bart isn't in your party to use Wild Smile your ass is dead. I didn't even know he was 'beatable' until now (After beating the game). He was so damn strong I thought it was one of those "get your ass kicked in the storyline and lose" battles that I really didn't try. Damn, I wish I could go back. :(
I played through a second time and had wild smile ready to go. Otherwise you are right in that fight is impossible due to one particular attack the Alpha Weltall likes to use which cannot be survived since the equipment you have access to at the time won't provide nearly enough HP to survive it.
I did as well only I wish the game was actually finished. Disc 2 especially was a huge letdown for me as it had minimal gameplay and just WAY TOO MUCH text and repeating cut-scenes in order to pad things out. The time spent in Solaris was the real highlight for me (i.e. the final area of Disc 1). After that it just went completely down-hill in my opinion.
JoeBee9 How can you say that? Disc 2 revealed all the answers to every question disc 1 presented you with. Who you were, why you were there, what happened in your past. Disc 2 sent chills down my spine at so many points. It's a great story, first and foremost!
Bobby Rowland Valid point and while I do agree how the story remained fantastic all the way through the entire game (and Disc 2 does reveal a lot of key plot points as you said), the problem lies with its "presentation". This is a role-playing game; NOT a digital novel and suddenly imposing heavy restrictions on gameplay half way through is jarring to say the least. The first disc set the precedent as to how the game should play out. The second disc does not match nor measure up to this in the slightest. I REALLY wanted to continue being able to explore different areas, maybe see some new dungeons and villages, fight more battles, etc like with Disc 1. Instead you're stuck reading and/or watching several lengthy cut-scenes (some of which even REPEAT) with a battle or very short dungeon thrown in here and there. You don't even re-gain access to the world map until it's time to venture into the final area/dungeon. I am CERTAIN they could have still conveyed the same story while keeping the gameplay elements in tact if they had more time and money. Ultimately it just screams "budget cut" and how the developers had all this wonderfully complex plot to work with but was given no choice but to rush out huge portions of the story to the player without spending too much time. It's a darn shame too because this title could have been so much more than it was. I still have a faint hope that it's re-made and given the full attention it deserved.
Another challenging part of this fight is that the closest save point prior to this fight is BEFORE the first fight with Deus! The one where his attack cuts all your gears hp 1/2. So if you lost you got to start way back there. It was really a pain...
Look at that. I always thought this was one of those classic rpg unwinnable fights. God those were common during the ps1 golden age. It gets into your head at some point and one day you think you're in a fight you're supposed to lose then you get hit with a game over screen. Then all you can due is go hmmm.
I pulled this off today. Fei/Bart/Billy. 3 Power Magics on Billy's gear & Evade Rings/Holy Pendants all around. Fei: System ID. Bart: Wild Smile a bunch then attack to level 3. Billy: Jessie Cannon.
First of all, do NOT bring Citan in the party. As you can see, he left the party before the battle, so you'll be left with only two characters facing (Alpha) O.R. Weltall.
Yup... Reading that as a kid on the back of the cd case, damn near carried the game with me everywhere I wasn't playing it. The coolest game I've ever played, taught me all sorts of stuff I couldn't ever understand until college. I'm still going back to re-watch some things now.
I remember getting creamed by this thing the first time I played. The second time around I had realized you could spam wild smile on him multiple times so that he misses most of the time.
As for me, I also managed to win against O.R. Weltall after two failed attempts using similar setup. I was at LV70 at that point, enabling Fei to use his Demon Lord (Kishin). Too bad I didn't get GNRS50 from Kislev Battle Arena back then to bump up Weltall's ATK. Demon Lord barely does 5000 damage, while with GNRS50, Goten X does almost 7000 damage.
Probably would have done better to equip the whole party with Power Magics/E Circuits, then use their Special Option attacks (prioritizing Billy with an Ether Doubler equip). Continue having Billy use the Jessie Cannon, have Bart use Wild Smile then the Yggdrasil D. Charges, and Fei use Flaming Hell. Grahf should fall pretty quickly that way. The important thing to remember is that the success or failure in this is HEAVILY up to RNG. Whether or not Grahf unleashes a can of whoopass on your party or takes it easy on you (as in the video) is up to Lady Luck, so the key is to take him down as quickly as you can, lest she decides to be a bitch.
+XGnosisX Xenosaga isnt the first game in the series though, xenoblade chronicles X is as the ending leads into the events of xenosaga, xenoblade 1 might be the very begging of it all with the diverging universes revealed at the stories end
dude...this is how your supposed to play though, if you don't play this fight like this, its literally almost impossible. It doesn't sound like you remember that this is the hardest boss in the game (you progress story even if you lose). Its got more health and damage than full powered version of final boss...what exactly is he doing wrong here? props because he is doing this non-overleveled. Alpha welltalls datamined health is literally 100k and he can deal 29997 damage in a single turn if your not equipped with all evasion items. And if you did beat him without this set-up how tf did you do it? its almost impossible.
I REALLY don't see how this boss would be beatable had not been for Wild Smile thanks to that 9999x2 damage attack it does (only other gear I've seen do that is ID's during the scripted fight with Bart way earlier in the game). I was never fond of Bart or his gear but he's a real life-saver in this fight (granted it's optional so the game will gladly continue even if you lose).
While I felt the story was much more mature than any Final Fantasy game at the time, the story purposefully tries to be vague as hell to confuse you, where characters have multiple identities/names, and on top of all the sidestepping, the super anime tropes just drags this mess down even harder. I got tired of the game's BS and just Gamesharked my way through it's pretentiousness.
Xenosaga is actually more in the future. You can tell by the dress attire in the games. There's villages & technology in xenogears. Xenosaga is more futuristic in the case that its in and out of space with the same type of technology.
+Nando Barrientos hmmm how should I say this..Xenogears, Xenosaga, and Xenoblade are different. but they all have the same concept cause the idea all came from Tetsuya Takahasi. but I have to say Xenosaga was pretty boring compared to Xenogears.. I played Xenosaga trice but it was fun as Xenogears was..the story the gears everthing.. it made me play the game MORE THAN 10x.. AND OH!! in the Xenosaga Little Girl inside the Zohar is Fei's Mother from Xenogears ^_^ you'll only appreciate Xenosaga and Xenoblade if you have played Xenogears.. even my classmate in college plays the game right now as I am replying to your comment. he just started 4 days ago HAHAHAHA anyways if you haven't played this game yet. give it a try I ASSURE YOU. after you play this game you will never see another Xeno series as AWESOME AS THIS.
+Nando Barrientos Incorrect, buddy. Xenosaga was originally slated to be the prequel to Xenogears, but it never quite "lived up to it" and they didn't believe enough people would get the links to make it a direct prequel, so Square kind'a made the crew make Xenosaga its own game. In fact, the Earth that you see in Xenogears is caused by a Godlike Gnossis being transported and trying to take over a vessel which is forced to self-destruct and crash to try and mitigate the damage that being would cause to other worlds. ...well....read Perfect Works, then read the original design notes for Xenosaga, and you'll thank yourself for spending the time to... It's an INCREDIBLE story that really deserved to be given a LOT more attention to.
Phillip Roberts at last! someone knows about it!! I thought only 0.1/10 people would know about. that's why the girl in Zohar IN Xenosaga looks like Fei's Mother in Xenogears!!! cause Xenosaga is and should be the prequel of Xenogears. Xenogears and Xenosaga deserves a remake the story is gawd damn awesome.
Xenogears was episode 5, saga is supposed to cover 1 to 4 which spans over the galactic wars. The reason why Xenogears had more "primitive" settings is because the vessel in the intro crashed landed on the planet, and numerous civilizations have since vanished till the time of Fei and Elly.
Lasting against Alpha Weltall, that itself is challenge even though you're not supposed to win the fight. Lol Took me a few times as a kid to realize that when I kept trying over and over.
He's referring to Xenoblade 2. There ARE mechs in it, look up a trailer demo for it. There's at least one that shows the player ((in-game)) flying around with a mech that's reminiscent of the Face units from Xenoblade 1.
well, optional in the sense, that you CAN beat him, but MOST casual set-ups that aren't optimal cannot beat alpha welltal if you didn't know about the special items you can only get before finishing the tower of babel, like ether doubler and magnetic coats. If you don't have evasion based items to dodge alpha's attacks, he does a guaranteed 29,997 damage to you in one turn, which is the most damage anything can do in xenogears, even the fully powered final boss doesn't hit nearly as hard. This is why you need bart to spam wild smile on top of having evasion items on every character.
I want to know more about the translation of this game, it's pretty darn competent even while using fairly niche philosophical concepts like sublimation, not a common thing for its time
Michael Fang before starting the zone or mission or w/e its called go to a blue zohar and change out party. I think you can do it when fei and elly have sex when the party is discussing plan of action on the ship just change party before Fei give her his D.Trust me you'll know the zone, but honestly for this fight as for many billy is kinda of weak compared to citan, bart emerelda, just make sure equipment and parts are as up to par as they can be. This fight is meant to be won, but if you do, then you earned an achievement many have not and cannot do.
+starzzpants Fei and Elly have sex? don't remember that part unless you're talking about the shower in Solaris of which, and my memory is hazy, weren't they interrupted by Erich, her father?

Xenogears was in development for 10 years before Square ordered the director to finish the fucking game. Can we imagine how ambitious and crazy this game could have been if the director were not constrained by money? All of Disc 2 was glossed over in cut scenes because there was just no more time. But that woman was too ambitious, by every metric. I don't feel like Xenosaga fits or matters, because it's what she created after Square refused to let her do whatever she wanted for all eternity. I am really curious where Xenogears would have gone if the director was allowed to do it "her way."
Xenogears wasn't in development for 10 years. It was for 2 years at best. Also the director was not a woman but a man called Tetsuya Takashi (but his wife Soraya Saga also played a big part in writing xenogears)
Gether Medel. Both games are great but xenosaga isn't related directly storywise. it was made to in respect to xenogears. not a bad way to think creatively but your statement is false my friend. xenogears was rushed. If only they had allowed the 4 discs to be made it would just add to it already being the best rpg in my eyes. I did like xenosaga rotating the boost & critical damage turns.
+Nando Barrientos It was originally planned as a prequel, but loss of the writers, the rights, and the care for continuity caused Xenosaga to go all, "Well, it's a part of the Xenoverse, which means turn-based combat on foot and in big Gears with a sci-fi space setting that still somehow feels archaic/advanced/raping-religion. Let's just let the fans piece together what we were too lazy to do. LOOK! Creepy looking aliens again and the origin of humanity with the depth of depravity involved! LOOOOOK ooooooh!" Still, weren't bad games! I liked them, but were SOOOO not worthy of being in the shadow of Xenogears.
So many instant S/L and speeding by powerful Emulator to get through the Deus Freeze Bugs, and can finally fought Alpha Weltall. Not sure of the reason my Billy's Humanrod Cannon can only do a few hundred damage. So I can only push Bart and Billy to infinite attack level. With Powerful instant S/L and few attempts, I finally managed to beat Alpha Weltall (We all know S/L is kind of like cheat but there is no other way.) One thing I don't understand is I don't get any item (Slayer Robe) after winning?
You needed the Trader Card equipped on one of your characters in order to get the Slayer Robe. You get the Trader Card from defeating Hammer before he explodes. As for Billy's Jessie Cannon not doing enough damage, it sounds like you don't have an Ether Doubler. Put that bad boy on Billy as well as some Power Magics on Renmazuo and watch as his Square button attack trivializes just about everything in the game.
No, that one's impossible just as the Rico fight is impossible too unless you use Debug (cheats). This is the only boss which is beatable without cheating which you are supposed to lose.
Ether Doubler. It's no longer available for purchase once you get to Shevat. All Ether attacks inflict a shitload more damage at double the EP cost. This includes gear-based Ether attacks that don't cost EP like Aerods, Billy's Square button attack, Jessie Cannon, and Jessie Blasta.

If you bring Citan with you, you have to fight him with only 1 other party member.

dis music ... DIS MUSIC!!!
its beautiful D: ...
You know they could make another XENOGEAR game on the newer consoles and so many way to continue this story hell maybe even a prequil.
+XGnosisX "in a sense" being your key phrase lol
+XGnosisX Xenosaga isnt the first game in the series though, xenoblade chronicles X is as the ending leads into the events of xenosaga, xenoblade 1 might be the very begging of it all with the diverging universes revealed at the stories end
That was a painful boss fight. It was like, they made it that far, not knowing how to battle.
dude...this is how your supposed to play though, if you don't play this fight like this, its literally almost impossible.
Current gen optional boss you need to fork out real cash to fight.
I felt like if Disc 2 was finished, you would have a better chance of preparing for this fight.
Alpha Weltall can actually hit for 9999x3(29997total), which is the highest in the game, crazy huh!
Weltal on id mode is the most awesome thing ever
playing this game at the age of 11 i didnt full understand the story. I need to give this one more try
Same. Think I was in like 7th grade. I loved the game from what I understood. Plus I'm a sucker for mobile suit combat.
AND OH!!
in the Xenosaga Little Girl inside the Zohar is Fei's Mother from Xenogears ^_^
you'll only appreciate Xenosaga and Xenoblade if you have played Xenogears..
even my classmate in college plays the game right now as I am replying to your comment.
he just started 4 days ago HAHAHAHA
anyways if you haven't played this game yet.
give it a try I ASSURE YOU. after you play this game you will never see another Xeno series as AWESOME AS THIS.
+Nando Barrientos The kid Abel...
Xenogears was episode 5, saga is supposed to cover 1 to 4 which spans over the galactic wars. The reason why Xenogears had more "primitive" settings is because the vessel in the intro crashed landed on the planet, and numerous civilizations have since vanished till the time of Fei and Elly.
omfg memories. best game ever
Lasting against Alpha Weltall, that itself is challenge even though you're not supposed to win the fight. Lol Took me a few times as a kid to realize that when I kept trying over and over.
Xenogears is pretty much linke Evangelion, but with a happy ending
Or to be more accurate, xenogears is an upgrade of evangelion
@@koishisbramblies yeah, it have much more mecha fights and the protagonist bangs the ginger girl
Fei is so radically different from Shinji, jeez. Imagine if Evangelion had Fei as a protagonist, damn.
@@KennyVo120 maybe thats why it had a happy ending lol
Elly is an expy for Misa Hayase from Macross (or Lisa Hayes from Robotech).
I didn't even think it was possible to beat this guy. Wow.
After all that.. no slayer’s robe
Yeah but you need to be at level 70 to have the Kishin deathblow, but as he states in the video description he's at lv 65
its around that nano guy home, in the forest
Thank you my friend. I just used your set up and beat him easily 👍🏿👍🏿
He's referring to Xenoblade 2.
There ARE mechs in it, look up a trailer demo for it. There's at least one that shows the player ((in-game)) flying around with a mech that's reminiscent of the Face units from Xenoblade 1.
oh fantastic, now i realice i did lose somthing by leting him win... this sucks.
never knew this was optional
well, optional in the sense, that you CAN beat him, but MOST casual set-ups that aren't optimal cannot beat alpha welltal if you didn't know about the special items you can only get before finishing the tower of babel, like ether doubler and magnetic coats.
I want to know more about the translation of this game, it's pretty darn competent even while using fairly niche philosophical concepts like sublimation, not a common thing for its time
Never knew that we cud win, thx
Okay.... How do I get Billy in my party? I have Citan in my party before when fighting Deus and I couldn't change it.
This fight is meant to be won, but if you do, then you earned an achievement many have not and cannot do.
starzzpants Thanks. I got it.
+starzzpants Fei and Elly have sex? don't remember that part unless you're talking about the shower in Solaris of which, and my memory is hazy, weren't they interrupted by Erich, her father?
@@XiloChannel you should play this game again
Tiny islamd in the corner of the map, slug like creatures drop speed shpes. boost not needed. i think... its been years, I remember npt seeing it in the guide. was quite amazed. then again, its been 10+ years
Xenogears was in development for 10 years before Square ordered the director to finish the fucking game.
+Nando Barrientos
It was originally planned as a prequel, but loss of the writers, the rights, and the care for continuity caused Xenosaga to go all, "Well, it's a part of the Xenoverse, which means turn-based combat on foot and in big Gears with a sci-fi space setting that still somehow feels archaic/advanced/raping-religion. Let's just let the fans piece together what we were too lazy to do. LOOK! Creepy looking aliens again and the origin of humanity with the depth of depravity involved! LOOOOOK ooooooh!"
Still, weren't bad games! I liked them, but were SOOOO not worthy of being in the shadow of Xenogears.
Can you imagine it with the next gen's graphics?
How can I boost Billy's cannon like that?
For character equipment & accessories: ether stone, ether stone L, and ether doubler
For gears: e circuit and power magic.
@@andy56duky thanx a lot
I love goten x so much🤤
remake pls!! 😩
With Powerful instant S/L and few attempts, I finally managed to beat Alpha Weltall (We all know S/L is kind of like cheat but there is no other way.)
One thing I don't understand is I don't get any item (Slayer Robe) after winning?
You needed the Trader Card equipped on one of your characters in order to get the Slayer Robe. You get the Trader Card from defeating Hammer before he explodes.
As for Billy's Jessie Cannon not doing enough damage, it sounds like you don't have an Ether Doubler. Put that bad boy on Billy as well as some Power Magics on Renmazuo and watch as his Square button attack trivializes just about everything in the game.
Didn't know you could win?!?!
I haven't, and I don't have a wii u :/
Xenosaga was a fantastic idea with a botched follow through.
Just stopping to say awesome game
A little RNG involved here, but well done
Best game ever
there is a fight in Breath of Fire 3 that is completely unwinnable, even if you cheat to win, the game would crash LOL.
Vs Garr, vs the unicorns 2x
Is the Bart vs Id fight also winnable,?
No, that one's impossible just as the Rico fight is impossible too unless you use Debug (cheats). This is the only boss which is beatable without cheating which you are supposed to lose.
Dont forget the hammer fight
@@ponkey8569 I think even if you cheat Id still wins
@@OnlyNolesknow The Hammer fight you have to win in order to get the Trader Card.
@@killerb255 that fight can be a bitch to win thats for sure

How were you able to get the jessie cannon to do that much damage
@Adrianto Shinomori power mGic accessories such as?
Ether Doubler. It's no longer available for purchase once you get to Shevat. All Ether attacks inflict a shitload more damage at double the EP cost. This includes gear-based Ether attacks that don't cost EP like Aerods, Billy's Square button attack, Jessie Cannon, and Jessie Blasta.
how do people get Jessie Cannon to do 8000+ damage?
