- I Suck at Starcraft 2 is a tutorial series aimed at new/low-level players using the weapon of hindsight to analyse what could have been done better in my games and why they turned out the way they did.
After a few games, I'm sorta getting back into the swing of things with this longer game.
What I love about this series is that TB really shows he plays a GAME. He laughs about his own mistakes, he makes jokes about his own play and in general he has fun.
Thanks TB to show the internet that, while you play to get better at SC2, it's ok to have fun while you make mistakes. =)
TB I'm so glad you're still doing these! These are my favorite. It's a great change from always watching high-level casts with fancy analysis.
I'm glad this series is back, it's very entertaining. I'm only about a silver level player but these are just fun for me to watch.
glad im not the only one who plays this way. tunnel vision is a killer in this game, and like you said in an earlier video, you know what to do, you just cant do it all, or something to that effect. love the videos, helps with my terran play, so keep em coming

if i was more of a newbie i would find these useful but they are just awesome for the entertainment value of what he says i don't usually actually laugh out loud at this stuff but i did for this.

Just a little tidbit - when you build depots, lower them unless you need them as part of a wall. For example, if you build your depot near your CC (generally done as it's the closest place to build it, not because of simcity applications), lower it as soon as its done. There's absolutely no reason to cause delays in gas harvesting just in case aggression comes into your mineral line.
Dude, your game sense is still really good, and you know all the counters etc.... So keep at it. Keep analyzing your own games and seeing what you're doing wrong, and you'll continue to get better. The multitasking thing is the only thing you really have to practice more and more, 'cause that's the hardest part. That's when your APM will really jump up, when you can control 3 groups of drops at the same time while making tech buildings.
i'm a low diamond player and i still find your games fun to watch :) it's helping me teach my friend how to play aswell, keep it up TB
that "bad" pylon placement actually baited you into sacrificing your whole army twice just to destroy that pylon

4-Command Centar/Orbital/Planetary
5- All production buildings or individual types 5-rax, 6-factory 7-Port
Holy crap, thanks to TBs videos I got placed in gold league (bottom of gold league though) after the placement matches without any prior experience, game feels very cool and natural, these SC2 vids are good stuff!
@NewAnarchy88 I'm a gold level player and I still enjoy watching these as well. It is really awesome because he is teaching via showing himself failing.
Always great to see games of this level, i think i suffer the same problem as thee, i know what i should be doing its the doing thats difficult! Great tank play really, also i think the fact that you know that you should be getting upgrades that makes the difference too, the 2/2 marines really made a huge difference once you made your push.

Helpful game, I hadn't thought of that Siege tank placement before this. Also I hadn't noticed those gold expos either.
Again nice to see someone play who's also at mid-bronze level like myself.
What I see from video one up to now is: I see that you really know your stuff and your mistakes. You also know how to attack nicely as well as defend. Thing is: Multitasking. I think, once you start multitasking, you're quite a solid killer!

That was a nice game. I actually enjoy the ISASCII series, since it shows a very relatable level of gameplay, far off the delicious yet very hardcore gameplay of WhiteRa & Co.
I could really use these. I just started playing again maybe a week ago.

@MagicIsntReal As a fellow noob to SC2 I can advise that the best way to improve on your multitasking is to just keep playing. I tried the multitasking trainer when I was just starting out because I worried about not playing fast enough, until I started watching D9D and realized that many of my mistakes had nothing to do with playing fast or slow, but with my mechanics and decision making. Once I learned from my REAL mistakes I started winning most of my games playing as slow as before.
I love how at the end the Medivac gives a Tumbs-Up when he says goodbye. xD
total, you should remember the four noob rules of sc2:
1. always be building scv's
2.never not be building units
3. make sure you have enough production
4. make sure to expand in a timely manner
after a week of mastering that i went up 50 ranks in bronze
Actaully i think that Pylon over the Cannon at the back door rocks was the better choose.. forces him to warp in the reinforcements further back. so personally i think you made the right choice with that TB :)
one thing to remeber about vikings, is they can depoy onto the ground for more firepower when needed, u kinda had dead units flying around :P, love these video im still learning alot, so far ive went from high bronze to a low gold :)

He couldn't cast SC games if he needed help understanding the game/strategies.
He knows how to play, he just doesn't have the experience to execute correctly.

Last night I saw one of your new IS@SC2 videos and it got me in the mood to play. I was never good and being as out of practice as you were at the time I knew going in it wasn't going to be pretty.
To the point, I was wondering if you would like to see it. The Opponent himself made it interesting by setting up dual proxy gateways in my base right off the bat. I was hoping for some input on how I played as well as give you the chance to see how other sub par players play.

@alahad yes, they updated Jungle Basin and added a gold base with destructible rocks
I find this series better than casting high level game more interesting
totalbiscuit i don't know if you have noticed but the path to the gas source wasn't clear there was a supply depot on the way next time you should lower it to the ground so the CSVs can go directly not around the depot. It isn't smth big but i just noticed that.

Just a tip, I'm not sure if you already know but you don't have to walk all the way around to harrase the rocks in the back, you can actually shoot over the ravine with marines or mauraders instead of running all the way around. (Sorry for my english).
Yes, they don't tell you about the marines who abuse stym. Some survive it, but after your first you get hooked, and getting more only makes it worse. They don't seem to care that "exploding" is a side effect...
I would like to see you do these videos in a Player cam format, in which you actually show how you play and how you can improve. If you improve on some multi tasking aspects of the game, it would be awesome to see you show us how to increase multi tasking. Not that i need it or anything but I personally could see this in a better format in conjunction with how your doing it now.

Love the series and not wanting to be a critic but next time your able to queue up that many siege tanks :3 Id cancel one and invest in a second factory, just a piece of random advice :3 Keep up the good work.
@zHectik I saw a link couple of days ago, they added them to make a third expand easier to get =) It also got removed from the 1vs1 ladder they said, still this is ladder and they are playing on it so...
@UnknownXV Its not a question if he enjoys it or not, Epic games occur on all levels of play and Skill level is not the same as fun
But there are competitive minded gamers, and improving on themselves in games they play. This is very important to them since improving and getting acknowledged due to it gives a feeling of accomplishment, doesnt it ;)

Dude, as an american, I played on my friend's account (My comp can't handle SC2) and found out I'm useful in team games because I dig in. And keep defending.

@dabomb1357 I didn't say that it was TB's fault for not having more sponsors, but it was still a major irritation when they had Requiem for the Phantom play every single video.

hey Tb you tried using a wall stat it works most the time for me also when you get your SVC to Scout after you have scouted if he's not dead start production on an expansion

one of the best tips ive ever gotten or given is, when you do not have the APM to do both the macro > mirco almost always ; )

Day9 would be a good guy to ask questions/comments for sc2. Hes a very good commentator/player. He can teach you a couple o tricks maybe to get the hang of it eh?
...The blue player could have easily won with the resources if he went with void rays and a few carriers. Good playing though TB, but try blocking your base ramp with some supply depots early game, works wonders.

Did they add high yield minerals to Jungle Basin recently? I don't remember them being there before.
Factually speaking: Diablo 3 exceeded World of Warcraft if only for a brief period of time in sales. Also factually speaking, it is very common for players to play until they beat all the new content, then quit until a new game comes out. It was also fact that Blizzard did indeed hand out free level 80 characters. The only part of that post which was opinion was my "Every giant has to fall" comment. The facts and stats don't look good for WoW lately.

oh , i see... i'm just not aware of what people usually use because i have my own set up..
i have 1, 2 main army . 3 ,4 production buildings , 3 for rax and 4 for either factory or starport , i switch it up ... and 5 for CC ... and usually either like 7 or 8 for scouts of special units ...

at 2:17 your SCV finishes and it takes you till 2:30 to finally start your OC. Just something to keep in mind =)
Hey TotalBiscuit they need to make a special league for people who play like us. I'm so good , sometimes i supply block myself, and i forget i even did that. Yeah. That good.
TB, Try hitting 's' the next time you spas out. Your units will stop and target and shoot the closest foe.
TB, just a personal pet peve when i see a T do it, feel free to ignore this but it may help ur macro a bit: that supply depot by ur gas, lower it.. it was making ur guys mining gas take a longer way back to the CC
if you find yourself floating so many minerals theres no harm in hammering down 3 extra rax and pumping marines,
liking this before i watch it because its an ISS2 episode

@dranoel1963 I think something you have to realise is that although he wins these games, he isnt good in relation to everyone in the leagues above him. As he said in the video before, the people he's playing are bottom silver. Dont get me wrong though, the series is good and must be an insight for new players, as he does have the knowledge from casting.
