  • This video explores some of the sights of The North Pennines that are available from the comfort of a car seat or a very short walk away from it. We start in a gorgeous part of the North Pennines, Derwent reservoir before visiting some of the places around the reservoir. We leave the local area and drive up onto the top of the moors on our way to Stanhope which gives us our first real glimpse of the North Pennines, calling at Parkhead Railway station on the way. We then dip down into Stanhope before ascending the other side to visit a picturesque quarry on our way to Middleton in Teesdale, again crossing the top of the North Pennines. Once in Middleton in Teesdale a little surprise of the journey is revealed...

    Absolutely love this video, really well put together!
    The area you have covered is my home,
    God's country for sure, but can be absolutely BRUTAL in winter.
    Ps. The image at 13:20 encapsulated the North pennines perfectly, soft beautiful nature, against a carved solid landscape. 👏👏👏👏

    Totally agree Cowgreen is my favourite too. I live not too far north from there at Allendale. Just come across your channel and really enjoy your content 👌

      Hi, of course no problem, it isn't all about isolation and being alone in the North Pennines as it can be enjoyed in a group, sure we will hike together sometime next year. There are lots of different reasons that someone may give a video a thumbs down, it is their opinion and choice and has to be respected either way.

    That quarry is possibly Newlandside Quarry.

      @DuncanBaxter  Год назад +1

      Hi, thanks for your comment, I am sure Newlandside Quarry is alongside the road on the ascent out of Stanhope (and has been reopened and working), the quarry I was referring to is next to Bollihope Burn but cannot find any name to it. Thank you for the information though, I appreciate your input on the matter 😊

      @@DuncanBaxter ah yes, you are indeed correct. After another watch of the video I think it might be Washpool Crags quarry?
