A-10 Warthog: Superior loiter, firepower, and survivability. Pretty much a perfect aircraft for destroying armor and supporting infantry.

@@pdogg6470 Just like the F4 didn't need a gun because dogfighting was "obsolete".. until they had to strap gun pods onto them because they kept getting shot down by MiG-21s. It's the same horseshit you hear today. When real war breaks out, all the theories about what it will be like are gonna go right out the window, just like they always have.
It's true that the A-10 uses a 30 MM Vulcan, it's still a Gatling gun, google the original, it's a spinning multi barrel weapon. Anyone that says it's not doesn't know it's historical roots. I'm a big fan of the A-10, there's constant pressure to replace it with the F-35, mostly to confirm it's high cost of development, but simply doesn't do what the A-10 does nor is it as battle tough.

The F-35 is SORELY lacking in the slow speed, low insertion area that the A-10 dominates in. Nwhen I called for close-air support, I wanted to hear that Avenger cannon, not have someone dropping bombs on EVERYTHING around me from a distance of 38000 feet...

In military planes there are Trucks & Ferraris. 😉 And some times the trucks are more sexy. 16:56 There is an esthetic. "If it looks right, it flies right". True in aerodynamics to a certain extent. But there may be an A-10 replacement that will be it's equal. And completely the opposite of what people are thinking. Time will tell.
My husband, Johnny had the honor to retire one of his SR71. He was in EGRESS in the air force! That is he installed the ejection seats in military planes! Aka: last chance for life. We were proud to serve. During operation Desert storm and desert shield; he was deployed . Rough for all of us; but we were ready to do our part!

One of the most badass aircraft in the US arsenal is the US Navy EA 18 Growler .
Please do a video about the EA 18G Growler sometime . The Growler is the most advanced Electronic Warfare fighter aircraft in the world . They use electronic pods to detect and counter enemy radar systems , and fire HARM ( High Frequency Anti Radiation Missiles ) to strike enemy antiaircraft sensors and batteries . Lets Go !

Nice video. An Honorable mention should of been the - SR-71A BlackBirds. The most badass Reconnaissance plane ever made. WIthout the BlackBirds ; the world as we know it today could and might be very different. Intelligence is the key to being able to know how to do what's needed to be done. The BlackBirds were key to keeping the freedom intact.

Nope, I think you’re talking about the M-61 Vulcan which is a 20mm cannon. The A-10 carries the 30mm GAU-8 Avenger and both are Gatling-style cannons.

A-10 is bad to the bone, but that cowboy era gatlin' gun was on another bird during a real war. Nam, dued, Nam, merica was handling some really bad guys, that had nothing to do with what we are fighting for now. They were actually enemies. The bird. The Cobra Gunship. it had a rotating turret with a gatlin gun under its nose. rocket pods and guns on the stubby wings, it, and the LOH flew down in to the thick jungle and took hits from the bad guys. Cobra should be on yer list here...
I remember someone asking in a reaction video how the A-10 could possibly be improved on. I think we all know the answer: More gatling guns.
You can actually order a fake 30mmx173mm shell from Amazon. It’s made from an actual used spent shell casings fired from the A-10 (the spent shell casings isn’t ejected. They’re actually returned back into the ammo drum to be collected later) with an aluminum shell of correct size on top! Safe to say, the thing is a BEHEMOTH! Now, I have bullets from a dinky little .22 all the way to a .50 cal or 12.7mmx99mm. The 30mm is about 2.5 times the size of the .50 cal! It’s an amazing piece for sure.

With regard to any combat aircraft, who cares if it looks sleek ? How it performs is what we really love about the A-10 Warthog.
Function over form, in all things. Y'know who didn't like Gatling guns? Custer. And we kicked his ass because of it.
Why the hostility from the Air Force towards the A-10 ? I am both and Air Force and Army Veteran. From a grunts perspective I love the A-10. I witnessed the A-10’s lethality in Iraq 🇮🇶 and was totally impressed.
Then you know many command pilots consider anything subsonic in combat not worthy of their ego…er I mean…talents.

Some of the scenes of the F22 Raptor were shot here at Eglin Air Force Base. I know this because there was a scene of a passenger plane landing with the F22s sitting on the left side of the screen. Our local commercial airport shares space on the base.

My favorite aircraft--
1. Freedom Bird-- No particular model, just whatever plane I get on to get back stateside
2. F-105G Wild Weasel
3. C-130 Herc-- (frequently becomes the Freedom Bird)
4. F-15E My last bird, just like the 105G a workhouse for a multitude of missions
5. A-10 Close air support. About as close to hand to hand knife fighting as you can get in air operations. Good for the boots on the ground involved in hand to hand knife fighting.

My favorites are any and all that keep US safe and free. I love our military and all it's planes.
A-10 is slow, low tech, bad a$$ bird. It’s loved by Marines. Some of them have been blown to pieces with body and wing damage and she still comes home. The newer planes are kinda like sports cars, they spend more time in the shop getting worked on. Sadly the A-10 is Air Force, I wish they would turn them over to the Marine Corps

Currently 6 "ghosts", there are a dozen+ EAC130's that carry high profile individuals and electronic warfare. 130's are our mule , and they are damn fine at it. I'd like Ukraine to have a couple. Same with the A10, war would have ended as the Russian f24 has nothing against this. Ukraine is doing very well with Russian helicopters and I wish for AH64, AN
The B-1 and the A-10 are my personal favorites... a mach2 bomber, and a 30mm close air support anti-material cannon with wings is winning combo. The F22 and F15 are also strategically important to controlling airspace, but dominating control of the ground is more important. (They didn't mention it, but the B1 can carry more arms than the B52, and has a swing wing design, where the wings are swept back for high speed low drag flight, and swept out for low speed flight.)
I can honestly say the B52 and the C130 saved our asses in Vietnam many times. The C130 served many functions from transporting troops to delivering rations.
The F 35 overran budget astronomically. The Wart hog te-plate should have been modernized and built it was and is one the best, with there is not any service member, that does not recognize the characteristic brrrrrt. It saved a lot of lives and was a workhorse.
The largest Airforce in the world is the USAF, the 2nd is the USN. :)
Where airplanes are concerned for planes in particular I am very much about function over form. I do realize that for air superiority aircraft there has to be a certain look or feel for the pilots to believe that they're flying what they're flying. But I can't think of a foot soldier one who's ever been on the ground who wouldn't love the A10 warthog it saves their lives literally and in the long run isn't that what's more important at least we have functional aircraft now that can do their jobs because we both know that it's going to be about 3 years before we get any kind of spending to upgrade or work on more planes so thank God we've got reliable planes. It's not so much that the general man on the street couldn't handle the truth it's at the press couldn't handle the truth and well keep their mouths shut because God knows why would they want to keep a military secret when it could protect our countries armed forces.

Your comment about the older aircraft still being around because "They are proven in battle" is so true, but I think the battle ground is changing lately.
I have been up close to a B-fiddy-two, its a tank and it has an odd wing, Instead of ailerons it uses spoilers to roll it. Really wierd man, but the designers knew what they were doing...
