  • What I focus on during the match:
Speeding up my hands. Waiting for the ball to come into contact. Commiting to the net whenever I see a short ball.
    Self-analysis:
All groundstroke errors are from letting the ball come to me too much, which causes late contact. I need to move towards the ball and hit it earlier, as well as focus on clearing the net. Volleys are too flat; there needs to be a little sidespin. Slices are too floaty.
Practice Plan: Moving towards the ball, hitting earlier, and approach shots.

Good luck getting to 10! Just curious, what’s your general strategy for getting there? Lessons? Shit ton of matches? How many days a week do you play?

Thank you! My strategy is mainly to get a ton of hitting reps as well as practice matches. Right now, I already have the groundstrokes, serve, slice, and volleys; what I need to work on is timing since the only shots I missed were late. Recording my matches will also be essential to my strategy as well as planning on how I can beat each UTR level. Right now, I play four times a week, with the other three days being volleyball.
