@5:40 dumb question perhaps. But did you try 'Auto'? I just ask as I just watched another video where the guy was having same issue with the arcade emu games. He set it to auuto and solved his problem apparently!
I've bought the same 2 weeks ago. Works great. I've put it in a Mini pc Elitedesk i5 6500T and that's nice. Have to boot on right disk and that's all. I can play all console but PS3 emulation is quite hard with this processor. I paid 18€ for this batocera disk. I'm very happy of it 👍
I just have a question. If i copy all the files except the roms on a usb flash (128go) and then copy only the roms of the games i want to keep. Should it run properly ? Will i lose my games also if i upgrade to a newer version of Batocera ?
@@lzep56 i don't think it will works properly doing this way. Your USB flash must be bootable, so you have to install Batocera in the right way, it's means download the ISO files from Batocera website. Then after, you will able to put the games you want on your new Batocera. Last version will bring you more stability and features. Old Batocera version are also available. (56 for Morbihan ?)
I've got an old (and ridiculously loud) Acer with an i3 4130 with igpu. It's a dedicated Batocera machine (well, until I make it quieter it'll be a dedicated dust collector) and honestly, I feel it actually works better. Heck, I think Cadilacs and dinosaurs work better on my cheap and very weak Xiaomi smart TV.
The cases on these slide apart really easily. Do yourself a favour and do this. Then look at the date on the drive inside. Mine was over 10 years old. They're clearly repurposed laptop hdd's.
I just got one from Temu. I checked and mine was made in June 2013. It is one of the old WD Blue drives. About to go hook it up and see if I can make it work.
@@ukeyaoitrash2618i always felt like there's enjoyment to be had from all devices of all era, if I got an old Amiga id love to figure out the old music programs to make rave music, there's still games that could be enjoyable, every laptop I have I set up with stuff that can be run on it and don't understand how people get bored of these miracles of invention, less waste! I assume that running a virus scan on this first. Copying it all to a 1TB external drive prior to setting up the Bios drive would save a lot of headaches. I already have a Retrobat so in worse case could i copy Roms and Emulator Bios to Retrobat? I ask as i could never find all the Apple 2 bios needed. I assume this drive does have every Emulator Bios needed for sustem on it.
Can this be used as an easy access legally safer alternative to downloading rom sets yourself like to use in a home arcade cabinet? Is it possible to copy the roms you want from this hdd and run them on a different system? Thanks
Yes u can. It uses batocera. So all the roms are there. U can also download and add more to it. Just press F1 from the main screen to access the file system. Really easy to use
@@cocktailzombie $20 is cheap enough. Basically paying for the hard drive and getting the roms for free. Saves u the time and trouble looking for it yourself.
@@ll_spudIs the entirety of the drive able to copy to a larger drive to make it have space for more PS3 and Xbox roms, or can I copy it to a large m.2, I'm not sure if its USB boot only. I just bought the same drive but it's not arrived yet and I'm just curious to what I can do with it.
I should have watched this video first and paid more attention. I got mine and it was a doozie to get it running, well the MENU works but so far I have yet to get one game to actually work! Took me some time to try it on not one but two lap tops, BIOS for my newer computer was a little different than any of the how-to videos so I had to figure it out through trial and error, without messing up my current daily computer. None of the running systems on each lap top would recognize my X Box controllers, I managed to pull an old Logic Tech controller and that finally mostly worked (mapping issues) and STILL no games are running! New buyers, skip this one, try the newer red one? Any advice from the experts on how to get this thing to actually work?
Almost same layout and games as Retrobat. Retrobat will generally work straight out of the box. You will still need a reasonably good med spec computer to play the high end console games though.
hey can you please help me out a bit, i wanna buy this too but my laptop sucks it has a 1.10GHz cpu and 4GB ram should i buy this? last time i tried to play a nintendo 3ds game it didn't work
So a workaround for the games not working it could be a region thing you can change the region settings and it should be able to be playable none of the emulators or anything into systems are fine-tuned
Awesome video ! How could you go wrong for the price ? Ok, there are duplicate . There are way more expensive hard drives with lots of duplicates. Not all games will work. Video should have been way longer. Most hard drives are not curated well.
The games that wouldn't run well was probably more to do with the pc as apposed to the drive maybe the emulators need updating. As for the ones that didn't load it's probably a emulator issue. But most problems would be solved with a more powerful computer I run ps2 gamecube and Dreamcast on a mini computer with no graphics card but it has an AMD Ryzen 7 6800h and 32GB of RAM so it's all dependent on the system not the drive.
No probably not, you would do better going to one of the retro game sites, the best you'll get from a chromebook would be the 16bit era games like snes and Genesis you're not going to be able to run N64, playstation, or anything newer.
I have an Alienware computer and I have followed almost every tutorial and switch the options like it says did every boot that I could figure out from these and still cannot get it to boot up. Any help?
How the ganes play will depend on the system you're using and the configuration of the emulator for each. Of course its not plug and play and shouldn't be said to be
