Do you think there is a possibility that you aren't getting Etsy Search traffic because you live outside of the US? I wonder if this would look the same for a US person. CU Online says she does not run ads, and uses low competition/decent search volume with Erank, and I believe she does not use social media either, and has made a lot of money. Her shop location/shipping location is in the US. This is what makes things so confusing. Being in Canada, myself, I feel like you have to run ads to be found, but maybe not as necessary if your shop location and shipping location shows as a US location. Would love to read your thoughts on this. It is a question that keeps popping up for me.

No, i don't believe so.. My shipping profiles show that they ship from the USA. You don't need ads if you're consistently listing new items or driving your own traffic. If you stop adding new items, ads will serve to keep you up top. Hope this makes sense :)

If you don't run Ads as a new seller, how do you get organic traffic?

There's a million dollar question right there. I think a niche with low competition/decent search might help.

Etsy gives all new listings a boost in search results, so while you will need to have your SEO make sense for your listing (what CUSTOMERS would actually put into the search bar to find your items), your design and mockup will need to be banging big time!
      • Good design will sell if the right person sees it regardless of SEO
      • Bad design will NOT SELL even if the SEO it tip-top
