It's incredible how it sounds both so familiar and so new at the same time. This is the sound that made me fall in love with chvrches in 2014. Goosebumps and good vibes all over me! well done!

@@YoullClapWhenImGone it's ok! everyone has their favourite ones. To me, Graffiti, Get Out, Forever, Never Say Die, Graves, Heaven/Hell at least are absolute bangers. And the same amount of bangers came from the other two album and singles. I love them too much
From the 3 new songs released, this sounds the most like chvrches. But from the 3 songs, hntd is by far the best one. The outro on its own is amazing.

It's always been "CHVRCHES". they are just a band exploring music as a voice. In the end it's just them. This might just be a bit of a throwback to their earlier sounds. Such is music/art.

As a dude in his late 50's that experienced his prime in the 80's amid amazing synth bands this is a breath of fresh air. Never heard of this band before and they might regret attracting old farts like me as fans but the song is catchy as hell. We've been wanting an 80s music come back for years...could this be the impetus? I will gladly embrace music like this along with comebacks of my hairband heroes...Def Leppard, Whitesnake, etc. LONG LIVE THE 80'S!
The "ha" at 2:35 gives me life
Read the "ha" in your comment EXACTLY at the moment it happened in the song on my first listen. Which somehow made it even more transcendent :)

This has that typical Chvrches synth sound to it, still it leans a little more towards that Bubblegum Pop side than the average Chvrches song. This album is going to have such big variety but every track so far goes surprisingly good together...

I love everything that Chvrches does, but this is going to be their best album yet. At 2:34 the sound of the music pulled me through the screen of my phone along with that "ha"!!! I am really digging this song so very much. I cannot wait for the album

Omg... So good. As a child of the 80s there's just something about this sounds that hits in the most excellent way. It's a maturing of the sound from that time period. I wish there were more bands like this, but I'll happily take Chvrches any day of the week.

So far this album sounds like it’s taking the best parts of the past 3 albums and expanding on them. You can definitely hear the growth in their music. This album is going to be amazing 🙌

I knew after 10 seconds of the first listen that I would love this song.
Another brilliant track and the vocals are so on point can't wait for the full album.
While I wish Chvrches would deviate more often lyrically from the theme of interpersonal drama and failed relationships their sound has remained strong throughout and I am quite excited for the new album. They almost called it quits after their second and yet here we are.

The thing is, they have really awesome instrumentals and Lauren has a great voice.
But they aren't master lyricists by any stretch.
One thing I've always liked about them is that their songs are all basically high school girl notebook stuff, but they manage to not make it overly sappy.
If they tried any other content they might find themselves out of their depth. Imagine a CHVRCHES political album. Might not be that great.
