  • In this video I walk you through every step, start to finish on tinting the rear window on your 2022 Honda Civic.(11th generation) This particular car is a "Sport Touring" trim package however this will apply to the other Civic Hatchbacks of this body style. This car is getting Carbon Tint but this applies to dyed film as well as ceramic films. I'm using Helios Nova from www.sundistributingdirect.com

      @@fastlanecarcarellc3608 Nope, after watching your whole video. I decided that there's no way I would do a good job and will take it to a shop.
      I can tell from your video that it takes a lot of practice to get this good. You probably saved me money on the tint and hours of my time. Haha

      I taught myself how to tint and I can tell you that while yes it can be done, it does take a LOT of trial and error. I would certainly recommend you taking it to a shop, especially being brand new. Now if you had an older car that you wanted to practice on, I'd say knock yourself out. Glad it helped you though! Hope where ever you take it does an awesome job!

    Nice video! Quick question, I recently bought a 2022 Civic Hatchback and I been having glare issues on the tint during driving at night. Is this normal or can be fix? The tint guy have already re did the tint 3 times already and the glare is there at night when the rear cars are behind. Very disappointed.

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  2 года назад

      Interior glare at night is going to happen with any tint. The darker the tint the worse it will be. It's just the way it is unfortunately.

    • @tonyly1775
      @tonyly1775 Год назад +1

      After analyzing the reason for the glare, I concluded after looking very closely, I can see a gap between the defroster line and the tint. The dealership tint person told me that they can’t do anything about the glare and I have to live with it . I’m very disappointed that there’s no solution to fix the glare. It’s really unsafe and distracting especially at night during traffic hours.

      Just curious, is there any glare on the civic hatchback on the video?

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  Год назад

      @@tonyly1775 in that case I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing. Without seeing the car in person I can't tell you what exactly the cause is.
      As for the civic in the video, this is a customer car so I can't say if it does or not but what I can tell you is that in 5+ years tinting and thousands of cars tinted, I have never had a come back or complaint like what you've mentioned. Sorry I can't really be any more help than that.
      Also keep in mind that most dealerships offer very cheap tint and poor workmanship, so if I were you I'd go to a reputable tint shop in your area for a second opinion.

    Update to the Blind Spot Monitor issue.
    It sat over night, I drove it this morning and all is working well.

      That's great to hear! Glad it worked out. Hondas do some weird stuff when their batteries get low too, I had one get really low and when I pulled it out of the garage and shut it off the trunk would open. Once it ran for a while it was fine.

      @@fastlanecarcarellc3608 a LOT of cars will act funny with low batteries... First gen Chargers and 300s would throw a generic transmission code from a low battery, lol.

    Did the Blind Spot monitor system bug out afterwards?
    I just got mine tinted and now the BSI system isn't functioning.
    All research tells me it is very likely temporary due to the moisture. But something to think about.

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  2 года назад

      No, I've done dozens of these "new body style" civics and accords. I always use a dash towel to cover the dash and don't spray directly into the area where the camera is on the windshield. However you may very well be correct that moisture was the cause but I've never had a problem. I'd probably have whoever tinted your vehicle pay to fix it.

    • @dracdrum

      @@fastlanecarcarellc3608 didn't have the windshield tinted. It seems to come from the doors being tinted. The problem apparently corrects itself after it dries. I'll post an update in case it does not.
      My tinter was a pro, I only warned him of the issue. The sensors are supposedly underneath the rear bumper on each side for the blind spot monitors. Some may be in the mirror housings on different models.

      @@darrellmattocks8954 hey I went to quality window tinting at 2565 Dixie Hwy, Lakeside Park, KY 41017. Danny and his brother run the place. Danny’s dad opened shop in the late 80’s I believe. The most affordable prices I seen for ceramic tint in the Cincinnati areas. I paid like $320 for all windows the way around. Oh and he uses Llumar Tint which is pretty good quality film and comes with lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, purpling etc.
