      I've had to improvise this pattern. The written pattern seems to be missing rows in the body. (I always make a prototype when using an unfamiliar pattern.) Cute bear...but I wish I had known (before purchasing so much yarn/etc for multiple++++ bears) that this is far off the pattern im used to.

    Omg, I've watched 3 seperate videos and I still can't seem to get the "magic" loop to work. The closest I came was 6 stiches and when I pulled to make it tighter, I had a massive loop I couldn't get rid of.
    Instead of the flat muzzle, what would you recommend to make it stick out just a bit?

    • @SharonOjala
      @SharonOjala  5 лет назад

      to make it stick out add a row of single crochets when you're finished row 2. For the magic loop, have you watched both my magic loop videos? There's 2 different methods to get it. I have them both on one page on my blog here www.amigurumitogo.com/p/youtube.html

      Instead of making a magic circle like she did, you can make a simple chain. With the yarn, create a slip knot on the end and put the loop on the rod part your crochet hook, below the hook. Make a chain by wrapping yarn around the hook once and pulling through the loop below the wrapped yarn. Now you should have a new loop on your hook and you repeat the process. For this bear, the magic circle had 6 stiches, so make a chaing eith 6 stiches (pull under the loop 6 times. Now you have what looks like a chain. You can count to make sure that you have six stiches by counting the v's. Create the circle by inserting your hook into the v that is furthest away from your hook, so the first one you made. The hook should be underneath both sides of the v so it looks like there are two loops close together on your hook. Next, wrap the yarn around the hook and pull under all 3 of the loops. This is a different way of creating the magic circle, and it doesnt require pulling the circle tight. Good luck eith your bear! 🐻

      Sound like! yoy didn't do the magic ring quite right, or maybe you got a knot in your yarn somewhere. Watch her do the magic circle again and have another go. There are loads of other videos on here which show the magic circle/ring. It seemed to me that everyone has a slightly different way of doing it, just check out some of the other videos and you will get there. I taught myself to crochet from a book and I only ever heard of the magic ring/circle on you tube, just keep trying, it will be fine! Good luck

      Every now and again it happens with the double loop magic ring. It's still my favorite method of the ring and I would encourage you to try again. With practice it gets easier. If it gives you too much trouble and it's just frustrating then try the single loop. I have a video for that too ruclips.net/video/2kX9O21KBE8/видео.html And like Elizabeth said, there's many videos for the ring out there, another method of teaching might make it easier for you as well.. I wish you all the best!

    Hi, I'm not sure which thread thickness to choose, ~2mm, 5ply or ~3mm 8 ply pls help. I got a 10mm safety eye so I'm afraid the end product will not be size proportional.

    • @SharonOjala
      @SharonOjala  4 года назад

      Zedgod you can use any size as long as you use the appropriate hook for it. I used worsted weight yarn. If you are in the UK that is Aran weight. Here in Canada I use Red Heart Super Saver or Red Heart Comfort yarn. You can do a google search to see the details of weight and ply on those 2 yarns and compare what you have. The thicker the yarn the bigger the doll.

    Seems like a long shot since this video was posted 3 years ago, but I’m having trouble on rows 5-9. I don’t understand why the number of stitches increases even though I try to stitch into every one of the 24 stitches. I’m not sure how to fix it, I hope someone can help. Thanks!

    Are the safety eyes a chocking hazard for babies? I'm making this bear for a baby less than 6 months. I'm wondering if I should use black yarn for the eyes. Any advice?

    • @SharonOjala
      @SharonOjala  6 лет назад +1

      Hi there, thanks for asking. I do believe safety eyes are considered a choking hazard, factory made toys usually carry a warning about them. I never recommend handmade toys for babies or children still in the choking stage. Everything about a handmade toy could potentially become a choking hazard. I'm not sure who you could ask about that but I don't have any advice other than what I just told you.

    • @moonangel2368
      @moonangel2368 6 лет назад

      Sharon Ojala, Thank you for the warning! 🙋‍♀️💖💖💖💖 I'll be sure to make blankets for them, instead. 👀👌💖

    • @SharonOjala
      @SharonOjala  6 лет назад +1

      for sure. Please don't be afraid to make amigurumi though. I never ever want something bad to happen so it's better safe than sorry. If they are displayed on a shelf until baby is old enough, that makes a great gift too. Just an idea :)
