Great reaction! I will definitely check out those Steve Vai recommendations. Sorry you weren’t feeling well and hope you’re doing better. Prince music always makes me feel better. Happy New Year! 💜💜💜
I was fortunate enough to see Prince perform the night he was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. A small club that only held a maximum six hundred people in midtown Manhattan where he came on at 1am and played till almost 4. It was a truly unforgettable experience ❤
Living in Minneapolis and being involved with music for 50 years I had the good fortune to see Prince perform many times when he was a teenager. He regularly played Bunkers bar before he was old enough to be in the place.
There is another video of this song done on this same tour in L.A. that he had an issue with his guitar so he handed it off to the tech and Renato did solos on the keyboards instead. It shows how well rehearsed and great not only Prince but his band were that they can change it up on the fly.
At that time, their brilliant drummer was John Blackwell, who sadly died a year after Prince from a brain tumor, and their guitarist was Mike Scott. Isabelle ------------------------------
A real talent that always seemed to surrounded himself with the like. Always love to see someone who attempts to expand! Miss his attempts, but try to do better that!

Steve gifted Prince an Ibanez 7 string. Prince apparently said, “What am I gonna do with a seventh string?” But he kept it anyway and even stuck his symbol on it. Never played it though to my knowledge.
Steve Vai? Who's that? Lol. Steve Vai already has a seat on the mountain of Guitar Gods. I think most guitar players take something from other players. When I hear Prince play sometimes I hear Santana, sometimes B.B.King, sometimes Hendrix, sometimes Page, and sometimes Gilmour. Prince is so diverse with his music that (for me at least) introduces you to genres and musicians you wouldn't have checked out. Example for me Joni Mitchell, Gustav Mahler, Sam Cooke, Miles Davis, James Brown, Mavis Staples, these are musicians I would not have listened to as a teenager. Hard Rock was my thing but Prince opened my mind to all kinds of music. R.I.P John Blackwell my favorite of all his drummers. Love em all but I like when John goes beastmode. Good reaction and cya on the next ✌ "Listen to my drummer now" 🥁💥 Liv4luv 0(+->
It's definitely worth doing this one a few times...there's interesting differences among the standout live versions from Detroit, Paris, Tokyo, and Coachella

@@mharrislove I was thinking about putting requests in for those other performances as well. I might just have to do that 💜💜💜
@@JJlovesPrince Yeah, it's one of those Prince songs that was seemingly made to be heard in concert

Thanks for all of your requests. They are such a blessing. 🙌

Please do the Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins duet on the remastered anniversary of The Carpet Crawlers music video 1999😊😊😊
Being in Denver you should check out Denver based Big Head Todd And The Monsters. I recommend their cover of Brandy live on RUclips.
Please don't the final Genesis with singer Ray Wilson who took over after Phil Collins in 1997 the album is called Calling All Stations ❤
Eddie Van who? hehe
Prince, Steve Vai and Frank Zappa, Stevie Ray Vaughn and JIMI...my top 5 ...and then Santana...IMO

I never knew that prince cannot sing professionally 😮
You still don’t know that. Such a stupid comment
Never liked Prince
Check for a pulse.
Biased musical education?
I don't like him either, I love him

@@kevinhurston1555 I tried, horrible 80s sound. No great playing particularly.
Was not keen on his voice.
