For years I've been using toothpaste a tooth brush, and a towel to clean the white parts of my converse. Had no idea it was actually close to the correct method. I just discovered it by accident when there was mud caked onto them and I realised after I'd done it they were bright white instead of the yellow they had been for months. I use a toothbrush with soap and water for the fabric parts, and bleach the laces and rinse them a lot. Everyone always says I'm crazy doing all that instead of chucking them in the wash, yet I'm always asked if my shoes are new so I think it's worth it haha

I put my suede skechers in cloth machine wash, washed, tumbled it till dried and all set and super clean 😄

IKR! There is no way I could do that w/out touching a thread. Just the fact I'm trying to avoid a thread would make me get orange dye all over the threads.

Damn. Besides the rememberable large gap from the laces to the head of the shoe, Converse Chuck 70s are damn accurate to the original Chuck Taylor's from the 70s.

I tried cleaning my SAO suede boots, I dried them under the sun and it hardened. I just ruined it. I wish you are just nearby so I could have them restored. Been watching several vids now, I guess it's time to subscribe.
Always dry shoes in quite dark place (for example, on the floor, under the window). Sun and high temperature can destroy shoes/change their colour/make their size smaller

I love my Converse. I only wear white or pink and when they get dirty, I put them in a muslin bag and wash them with my white clothes cold water. Suede is new to me and I'm loving this video. Now I know how to handle my suede sneakers if I ever get some
If it's dirt, just dip it in hot water( not too hot either) for a few sec than toss them in the machine, will work out just fine and better :)

I prefer the original brown colour of the shoes. (The new one is also neat enough, though.) But dang it! U have such good painting skills. I loved it, especially when u were painting the shoes avoiding stitches. Keep up ur good work!

Actually you could paint the whole shoe with stitches aswell. Threads on those kind of shoes made out of nylon and it doesn't hold the dye while paint is drying out. Telling as a cobbler here. Good job btw!

Nice cleaning. I would use NAF soft soap with lanoline. That cleans and feeds the suede. You probably don’t have to dye te suede afterwards. The dye is a bit darker at some places on the shoe, but nice job anyway.

Question... i know you probably wont answer this but worth a shot...
I love my chucks, wear them all the time. Since nike took over and shipped production overseas, quality has took a dump. Ive noticed my 'pre nike' chucks have lasted so much longer.
That being said, still love my chucks. I wear them when I skydive so they go through a lot of abuse. The rubber sole is starting to pull away from the rubber wall on the outside quite badly. Ive been informed 'shoe goo' works, but i was looking for something more permanent. Maybe sewing the two back together with leather or rubber cord?
You probably wont see this, and probably wont respond even if you do see it. Worth a shot though

The white threading though. they did such a good job dying the shoes! Also IDK why but I find it funny they wash the laces instead of just getting new ones.
I've always just washed my laces. Why would you get new ones when the old ones are perfectly fine? So wasteful!

Was that a regular brush he was using on the suede? He usually uses a horsetail brush. This brush in this video was a two-sided brush. I just didn't know if the bristles were softer or what on different sides.

Ok so I have a pair of converse arriving soon and I’m soo excited!!! This pair are white high tops with a rose embroidery. My last pair were a pale lavender low tops and I just kept them clean by using a detergent and going in by hand and scrubbing with a cloth and drying. But because these are gonna be white how do I keep them from staining from water, ya know and yellowing? And in general what’s the best way to do it? Thank you ❤️
apply a waterproof spray - it will prevent water and dust to stain your shoes
