...Aside from the light armor for it's weight, the Victor is a good Mech for shredding opposition (I confess to preferring the AC/20 over the Gauss Rifle, but that's me). One of my most effective field refits occurred during a hard mission vs the Lyran half of the Federated Commonwealth just prior to the Clan Invasion: after a brutal engagement my Victor's arm had been shot away, & was out of autocannon ammo, so the Tech replaced the arm assembly with an LRM-20 rack with 4 tons of ammo; the autocannon ammo was replaced by an additional Medium Laser & 2 more Heat Sinks. This new armament coupled with it's high mobility (no lower arm actuator, so it could still fire at rear arc targets) proved a highly successful harasser. Though the Mech would be lost in a later mission it was still fun to field. 😎
Probably one of my favorite Assault mechs. Its extremely flexible at all ranges and just fast enough to maintain speed in a mobile lance. It will never replace the charger in my heart but its definetly in the top 10s
When an Urbie's not enough, send an Enforcer. When an Enforcer's not enough, send a Victor. They're good for city fighting for sure, but can get easily ranged and outflanked almost anywhere else.
Victor is a glass cannon . It outputs damage , that’s what it does , doesn’t have the defense of a Highlander or a banshee , doesn’t need it in a short range fight
It's one of few assault class mechs to have jets before the clan invasion, and afterwards it's one of the most popular jumping assault out there. It's effective for is relatively low price and weight class. Though let's no beat around the bush in all but 1 other variation it's right arm is it's only primary weapon, so you're taking a risk. It's not the Highlander with it's higher, but it's a good relatively cheap assault you want for rough terrain, or flanking other heavily armored mechs.
Funnily enough, i usually lost this mech against lighter opposition, usually by kiting. Against other assault class it is actually very competent fighter, especially if you can exploit their flank with your speed and jump jets.
Waiting with a vindicator lance at optimal PPC range from said obstacle is a pretty good contender. Victor pilots can´t help themselves but jump. Makes them easier targets

I love fighting Victors, they fold so easily.

At least they maintain the mobility of jump jets in most versions.

What would you do to address the glass cannon? Remove the jump jets?
Embrace it be mobile and fast

Love, love, love mobility offered by jump jets.
The Victor is one of my all time favorite mechs. Are there better mechs out there, definitely but the Victor has always been a blast to pilot.
What makes it so much fun for you to pilot?
@@HPGBlackoutFor me it's the jump jets and a AC 20. I've had plenty of fun getting in close and trying to hitting with that big auto cannon.

Nothing quite as fun as jumping over ridge/ building with a Victor.

Isn't this true for most mechs with jump jets though? You just can't help yourself, you must jump!
