i just found your channel, you're so good!! you have your own style which is very calm and clean, you can hear perfectly the notes. The first video i watched is the History Maker and man, hope you keep working on your channel and videos because it's so peaceful listen to your interpretations!! o/ :))
Hey man, glad you're back. Very well done, as always! I feel like you always bring a bit of a softer touch to Animenz' pieces, which is really refreshing. Also, don't mind playing a tad slower than Animenz, I think it helps exemplify your style a bit more. However I just can't shake the feeling off, that you - for lack of a better description - don't quite have the same "oomph" as him. Maybe it's the way you positioned your microphone(s), but I have a feeling that the bass doesn't quite stand out enough. Maybe that's just your interpretation of the piece though; and that's perfectly fine. I'm just some random guy on the internet sharing his opinion after all :D You managed to capture the spirit of the piece after all, which is what counts. Good job on keeping the groove, I'm looking forward to Idol :)
Thanks for the feedback! Listening back, there's a noticeable lack of confidence in my playing and also the bass is sorta lacking. I think it's got to do with the microphones and their placement since it's the ones Animenz used in his 2014-2018 videos. If you listen to it with headphones, the bass isn't too bad. I also EQ'd it down a bit while increasing the treble so it had a clearer separation. Otherwise, it sounded a bit muffled :/
Seems silly to use a VST when I have the real deal I plan on getting a professional to help me with mic placements but they're quite expensive :( Not sure if I can justify the cost at the moment
@@CharlesMaPiano It’s DO silly when u using a VST specially when you have a acoustic concert grand piano. But the VST will make sure they were the BEST records during their production🤔
i really liked the clear distinction between staccato and legato in your arrangement this time! maybe it was just a product of the recording quality, but i feel like your playing is always less powerful, (when animenz plays a f, it sounds more like a mf). still great accuracy throughout the whole arrangement. btw what state in aus are u from?
I'm from Victoria so it's really cold right now :( I feel like my fingers don't move as fast because my house is also cold, hence the slower playing 🤣 I haven't recorded for like 2 months so I was pretty nervous for this. I'll definitely try to play with more confidence in the next video!
hey, glad to see that you come back, you're music is as always a pleasure to listen.
Thanks!

Will you tried the VST recording?
Maybe it’ll sounds more powerful 🤔(You can try the VSL F-308)
