Toby encounters the clueless policeman at the crossing one day, and after overbearing him with his way of the law, Toby sets out a plan to put him in his place once and for all...

I had a similar idea for a follow up story for this policeman character years ago after reading Sodor: Reading Between the Lines but it ended up scrapped, honestly, this one plays out better.

In the Police, you can either be fired or reassigned and many Officers would prefer the former, as the latter means being posted to the station or department that is feared by all and forever stuck in your current rank which, if you're a Constable with ambition, is a nightmare!

That is the most cursed experssion I've ever seen on Toby... but I LOVE IT! He's activated devious gremlin mode. XD Imagine seeing him with that face as he rolls up to help Mavis when she got stuck on the crossing.

I wouldn't necessarily say he was rude, he's often referred to by some of the Fandom as 'Overzealous' meaning he's trying to do right but going about it the wrong way.
I've seen many adaptions and sequels where another Police Officer, often a Sergeant or senior, reveal that the Constable was enforcing an obsolete by-law meaning Thomas was perfectly legal at the time of the Constable ticketing him for being "Dangerous to the Public" and "A regular Lawbreaker"

A nice adaption!
Often, the Constable ticketing his Sergeant's car outside the church is a downfall of his own making but having it be a result of Toby stitching him up is just as good! Next challenge for people adapting this story is whether or not the Constable tried to pin the blame on Toby or wisely kept quiet, lest he anger his Sergeant any more....

A really perfect story about Toby vs the constable. Just goes to show that no matter what or how much of a know-it-all you present yourselves, you’re never above the law. ‘Cause karma can strike back wherever.

Reminds me of a similar story from someone else. Same constable booking people parked outside a church, also booked his boss. Then was sent packing.
It's explained in the Island of Sodor history book that that was what sent the constable's career down the drain. So I assume it's just a coincidence that both stories used that as a basis

Another great episode mate, reminded me of the Toby and the Constable episode done by Liam Miller, though that one was more focused on exploring Thomas's jealousy toward Toby and of the FC dealing with the policeman.
And the A ring of the Bell by NWR1991, which had Bertie in it and involved in an incident with the policeman.
So this one is a nice addition to the policeman from Thomas in Trouble dealing with the characters that makes a nice small arc around Toby and him settling onto Sodor before Dirty Objects and filling in gaps between the tv episodes that I always love seeing.
I thought the next story would be one starring Gordon, since the last ones had Thomas, Edward, and Henry. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this one!

I'm gonna push for its release on IHNTs end, the sergeant was an original character made for this but as no other S1s policeman has yet been released, and with Kiwis model a private commission itself, any future TV Series content commission i may have to make, i'm up to allowing to be released, mainly miscellaneous stuff though still to fill the void for most Thomas trainz users.

That was a brilliant story. Amazing how Toby managed to teach that horrible policeman a lesson. Plus the part outside the church certainly rang a few bells with me. I knew I recognised that bit from somewhere 😀.

Wow, another fantastic episode, I love this for taking place after and the references from Thomas in Trouble is an marvellous idea that the policeman will be trouble, it's so wonderful to have Toby along with Thomas as main roles and the used for deleted scene from Thomas and Bertie is so perfect, can't wait to see it more and I love it!
How Brilliant Toby easily tricked the Policeman like that! Using his knowledge of the Vicar's Sunday Service to fool him into writing all their parking tickets, including his own sergeant's!

Oh so this must be what happened after the episode where Thomas gets falsely in trouble with that new constable. Good thing they found someone else to take his place at the end of this video. Now, neither Thomas, Bertie or Toby won’t have to worry about getting into false trouble

There’s like a diverted expectation before the climax, which what makes the video interesting. For me I thought Toby tricked the constable into ticketing the Fat Controller’s car.

I do believe this story takes place between "Thomas Breaks The Rules" and "James in a Mess".
This episode gave me some much needed catharsis regarding that annoying constable! I don’t recall what actually happened to him in the show, (I think all that happened was Toby rang his bell as he rolled past the guy, startling him to the ground. Or something like that. Which if true, is perfectly fine! Still cathartic, but more of a short and sweet kind of way.)
But this episode, imo, regardless of cannon, is SOOOOO much more satisfying! And the best part, the old, grumpy, overly strict cop was replaced with a much kinder, reasonable, and understanding cop!
I think one lesson you could take away from this, is something like: don’t let yourself get too obsessed with your job, and remember that kindness and understanding should always be the default, unless otherwise stated! And this doesn’t mean put your guard down! Officer or not, You *can* be kind and understanding *while still* being careful and vigilant! (Just look at Batman, mainly from the Animated Series, and I think the Burton universe to an extent?)
