I've ordered Switch as present for a kid because:
    1. Nintendo prioritising local coop over online and huge amount of games you can play with whole family >2 players
    2. motion controls - this is just fun to play with friend around, also sometimes unique and more natural controls
    3. top notch parental control
    4. nintendo specials focusing on games appropriate for kids from young age
yeah graphics suck, games are quite expensive but there are just no competitor in mentioned 4 categories

I would say buy a Switch if you don’t have one. It’s a great system. I don’t think the next system is just an upgrade. It will have a new gimmick of some kind. So it will be different. I think different enough that I will enjoy owning both systems. Also Nintendo exclusives are the main reason to have a switch.

I don't think its worth to buy it. Only game I interested was Xenoblade Chronicles 2, bought Switch at 2017 for this game, but resolution and framerates/frametimes were bad so I couldn't finish it sub 30fps makes me sick, emulation scene was not existed that time. I just finished whole trilogy with PC emulation with fps mod and high resolution, far better experience.
Hardware is just too old to recommend, new games are not released on Switch even if they are released they are sub 540p 30fps experiences with cutdown features.

Lots of competing handhelds now but let’s be honest. Switch is still unmatched when it comes to price, battery life, and seamless experience. Even 7 years into this system. Nintendo knew that was the advantage all along. It’s not their first rodeo. All they had to do on top of that was deliver the games, and they haven’t stopped doing that.

I'm really shocked to hear that anyone is literally buying nintendo switch for anything else but their original games, and with that being said, no comparisons make sense cus there's no other device that can play Nintendo games better than Nintendo, plus you get 3 modes of playing. And also, who cares if the next Nintendo system has some OP graphics, whivh I highly doubt, cus they're just aiming at inovation and fun,.. like that's literally not the point of nintendo. If you wanna play non-Nintendo games at the best possible quality then go buy yourself a PS5 or Xbox cus you are missing the market.

Dude you can get a regular switch for 100$ dollars. That's cheaper than a PS Vita and 3ds. If you buy gen 1 switch you also have an android tablet and can over clock.
The switch is outdated but the value of the console and the huge library of games makes it worth it if you don't have one already.
If you have 300$+ to spend get the odin 2. If you have 400-500+ get a steam deck. And if you have 800-1k+ get a budget gaming laptop or build your own PC.

It’s definitely worth buying an Nintendo Switch now because there’s still some great games coming out for it despite its age everyone’s opinions are gonna be different, but thankfully I don’t really listen to the opinions of other people I make up my own mind and I think that’s what most people should do, make up their own mind rather than listen to other peoples opinions, I’m biased because I bought an Nintendo switch in 2023 it’s the best decision I ever made. I absolutely love my Nintendo switch and yes I know there’s other options but those options options don’t have the charm of the Nintendo Switch and you can get some good 3rd party games on it as well, obviously ports of current gen games are a no go on Nintendo Switch but I bought it for mostly Nintendo first party games.

“If you’re buying this to play the Nintendo exclusive games, then yes the Switch is where you want to be.”
I’m finally in this ballpark. I miss the excitement of being able to play amazing ports on this system. We still have them, but I feel the Switch is no longer holding up its end of the bargain when it comes to the quality of ports. It was inevitable, but it’s becoming more of a Nintendo exclusive machine every month. Even the third party titles that aren’t very demanding aren’t always coming across the Switch without flaw. And considering you can get a new unused Steam Deck for $399.99 now, you’re getting a Switch for the battery and the exclusives. Still not a bad place to be.

It’s funny because in the early days of the switch’s life everyone and their mother was begging for multiplat ports, like P5R and Witcher 3. The idea of having these games on the go sounded amazing. Then 2022 happened and Steam Deck came out and we were able to have all those games on the go at even better performance. And it was around that time that people also started noticing how poor the switch ran even Nintendo’s own games.
