I bought my first pair of Alden's when I was 20 years old. I then bought my second pair when I was 44 years old. I'm now 64 and don't anticipate having to buy another pair. Can't be Alden for durability.
They do turn out nice, but it would be interesting to see the shoe tree on the other boot, the one that hadn't been given any treatment. Very nice to have a peaceful video without techno music blasting my head off! Thank you.
I see a lot of edge gap between the leather sole and that half sole you glued on. I don't think it was hammered down well, will probably come off eventually. Otherwise, very good work.

I would like to see the process of removing creases to the uppers (never seen this done with deer bone before!) on older shoes with more pronounced creases. These are still quite new and the leather still firm I would say
Small tip to get crease out of leather shoes: put shoe tree's in an hold a hair dryer or heat gun to the crease from 10 cm to make the leather more flexible then when it's totale workable you press on creased area with your finger to straighten them out.
He didn't seem to touch the heel. I always thought that would be a major area to reinforce because it's so susceptible to wear & tear. Shoes look great though.

Does anyone know how Alden’s run, size wise? If I am a US 9.5 to 10 and usually get a 9.5 wide in most shoes, what size would that correspond to in Alden’s? I have no intention of going to a store for a fitting.

I canT say I like the way a rubber sole has just been glued onto the leather sole.I would do it the right way by removing the welted leather sole and replacing it with a rubber sole which then gets glued and stiched on .That is the way to do on such a n expensive pair of cordavan shoes from Alden.Just gluing a rubber sole on is a sacrilege
It's not a rubber sole, it's just a rubber layer to protect the leather sole and make it last longer and be more water resistant. Very normal for leather sole shoes. The glue is very strong.
@@clintonleonard5187Totally agree with the rubber grips/protectors leather soles. Leather can get very slippery in wet or winter conditions and you can really appreciate the difference they make. It’s the first thing I do after buying high end shoes is take them to be polished and have the protector soles installed.

No need to heat the leather glue. Use a hammer to hit on the outer sole averagely. Polish the edge with polishing machines. That will look really good.
Why not soak them in water and let them dry to straighten them out, as apposed to scratching them up the way you did? Also why not hammer the sole down on the edges to minimise those gaps?
is there a reason that you used a rubber outsole for repair? it is said leather or wood sorts of soles are for fancy shoes, and you attached cheap-look rubber one the shoes seem like fancy tho

Aaron Goukhman Thanks for comment! Deer bone is for only cordovan leather. The bones are heated by friction and the ingredients penetrate into the leather. The ingredients are very good for cordovan leather. I tried lofs of type leather, Horsehide leather is good, but other leather is very very little effect... It’s waste time

У меня нет мясорубки. После съемок фильм был закончен наждачной бумагой. Если вы покупаете измельчитель позже, он будет чище. Спасибо

1. 약간만 눌러서 오랫동안 문지르면 됩니다. 2. 주름 사이에 낀 크림은 디어본으로 문지르면 어느정도 제거 가능하나 완전제거는 가정에서는 어렵습니다. 3. 사피르 유니버셜은 영양공급70% 클리닝30%정도의 제품이라서 코도반 클리닝엔 효과가 없습니다. 사피르 스테인리무버보다 TRG 새들솝 이용하시는게 좋습니다 :) 폰으로 쓰는거라 정리가 안되었네요 ㅎㅎ 양해 부탁드립니다

That glue is very strong :) don't worry :)
It’s impact adhesive.. you need to put the shoe on a last and impact it with a hammer. That glue will fail.

Cordovan leather cannot be soaked in water.

Many Customer are need Half-sole guard, but Vibram are too expansive, so I recommended them that low price rubber. but It's good !

Aaron Goukhman Tou have to buy Wood shoe tree. It’s the best :) all leather shoes,boots need wood shoe tree. If you can select wood material, Japanese cedar is good for shoes :) see you again!!

I used Saphir edge coat and edge dressing :)
This could've been restored without boning it. I guess some people cannot resist.
