I would HIGHLY recommend Fort Pickens Near Pensacola and a tour across Flora-bama, perdido key area. There's tons of great beach bars and a very laid back beach and seafood vibe.
The Panhandle is a great part of Florida, especially around the Apalachicola area. The lighthouse in Port St. Joe used to be at Cape San Blas, but they moved it due to beach erosion. I saw it in the old location, but want to see it where it is now. The other lighthouses in the area are great, but I think the best is on St. George Island. That collapsed years ago, but volunteers gathered all the bricks and rebuilt it further in. Being able to see the whole Gulf from there is amazing.

FL-bama bar culture is the last thing im interested in, prime "rich redneck" territory

I celebrated my 40th birthday at Panama City Beach and I'll be celebrating my 50th in July.
Strong work!
The best oysters I've ever had were in Apalachicola.
Nice. Commenting before watching the entire video. You should check out Fort Barrancas.
Never heard of it. I’ll add it to the travel list. Thank you!
