I bought one from Classic and it has become my favorite gun. I like it better than my M9. Small, easy to handle, and packs enough punch to do it'd job. Beretta handguns are excellent and also a work of art.
I bought the same firearm from Classic as well......Beautiful piece of workmanship!!!...I also put on a set of factory wood grips...and bought a custom cross draw holster from El Paso Saddlery......I proudly carry it every day. I've put hundreds of rounds through it and never had a single issue. VERY accurate and fun to shoot!!! I have several other pistols and they are either too big or too heavy to daily carry and just live in my range bag and get fired for a fun range day. The only other pistol I actually do carry is another Beretta........The 85's Cheetah's little brother.......a little pocket rocket Bobcat 21-A for when I need be more discrete......I realize it is only a 22 LR.......but I can assure you...I've put many rounds through it....and it is very accurate as well. As they always say.....Shot placement is the key.......regardless of the caliber. 😎

One of my big brother handguns is also Italian made..... a Pietta 45 colt single action 1873 Colt clone. Kinda difficult to conceal carry???? 🤣 But always draws attention at the range.

You’re a good salesman, since I was hoping your video would make me not want it. I have a 92FS already and wanted a stainless 85BB (which look awesome and have more heft). I used to see those at gun shows - sadly, I didn’t get one then. Your choice of wooden grips is good there- looks good and maybe adds the ounce (?) I’d want. Your shooting was accurate and I like the reliability.
I’m a employee at Buds Gunshop of Lexington, KY. I open carried a Beretta M9 for two years. When I turned 21 I picked up a Beretta 85BB Italian Police trade in for my everyday carry. Just qualified for my carrying in store with that little guy and did fantastic. Spoke with a Beretta rep that came in to demonstrate the APX-A1. I told him the same thing, his words were, “This is hush hush so I can’t say much, wait till the fourth Quarter (end of this year). Cheetah is coming back with the M9A3 and M9A4 1911 style grip.” We will see...
I’ve noticed the same thing with mine as yours that I can’t put down to just shooter error. When you shot the group of PMC you had 4 rounds absolutely stacked and seemingly random fliers. Most of your groups have the random huge flier and I’ve experienced the same thing.
@@crankygunreviews no I’ve had good luck with pmc overall. I notice the 85bb seems to throw fliers regularly from the 3 or 4 I’ve seen and I’m not sure why.

@@crankygunreviews would you be open to doing a ballistic test video with it using different defense loads? Some people carrying the older stuff. I carried a west German Sig P225 on and off from age 21 till age 33. Now I occasionally plink at the range with it. My current EDC is alloy frame 2” 38 special with plus p lswchp ammo.
@@jw-sigp2258 the problem is finding defensive loads, and I don’t have ballistic gel or anything. This hobby is pretty expensive as is…the only .380 defensive ammo I have is Federal Punch (20 rounds), and some Sig V crown (maybe 30 rounds) I typically carry this with Winchester white box flat nose because it gets a little better penetration, and the flat nose rested a pretty good wound tract.
@@crankygunreviews yeah gel is definitely expensive. I do a lot of water tests. Or I do meat targets with discount close to the date stuff. That beretta is one cool 380 though!

@@crankygunreviews A recoil spring should be replaced every 5000 rounds. You have no idea how many rounds have been shot with that gun. Its something to think about.
I have one of these, i have been told to carry it chamber loaded and then lower the hammer to half cock and safety on or off for double action? Is this correct or cocked and locked?
@@smokinC5 well. I guess it’s a matter of opinion. I have carried min cocked and locked without issue many times. I don’t like the idea of two actions to fire when carrying- I.E. release safety, cock hammer…. But I know some people I think have said these aren’t as safe cocked and locked though I’m not sure why…
I've got an 84B that I bought new in 1990 (maybe '89). I've put the serial number in Beretta's website and it says that it can't identify the number. I wonder if it's because it was manufactured in Italy. Anyway, you might try contacting their customer service. I would imagine they could track it down very easily. Love this pistol.
Cocked with the safety on and the trigger is disengaged. However, being that it is double to single action, just as easy to carry it hammer down, one in the pipe, safety on. One swipe of the safety, and pull the trigger.
@@woundedsqrl well my safety doesn’t pop off and dropping a hammer on a live round to have it be ready in double action isn’t appealing to me. I guess everyone is comfortable at different levels. Many people don’t like carrying with a round in the chamber either. Or carrying a 1911 locked an loaded…
If you're going to review a Cheetah in wind you need a dead cat. (Wind filter for the microphone.) Useful review - seems like the gun is about as accurate as the M&P Shield but more ammo-sensitive. Could be the difference between a locked breach (S&W) and open breach/blow-back (Beretta).
It’s not very ammo picky in my experience- the 180 degree ejection port works great for extraction/ejection, and there isn’t much it won’t shoot, even steel cased. Every gun has a hang up now and then, this one has been extremely reliable and dead accurate. The Shield EZ performance center I have has better sights and a longer barrel, and better trigger so it’s hard to compare those two, but I love both

There was an 84 recently at a shop near me, was gone in hours. I probably would have scooped it up

Just picked up a 92X last Saturday as my first Beretta, absolutely love it. Just bought an 85F yesterday in lgs. I think I am a Beretta convert now.

I had one for 40 years. I had to have it repaired because the magazine safety went bad and they couldn't fix it. But this was my favorite.

If they redesigned it to be a double stack 10 round or 13 round, that is a little thinner, it would be even better.

Yeah I’d say it’s still viable. Especially with the right ammo. Critical defense would be very effective out of that longer than pocket gun barrel.
Reliability is key for me, and this thing is very reliable. I can’t remember a single issue I had with it

If you look for a replacement recoil spring these take the larger one.
I have not needed any replacement parts for this. It has function flawlessly every time I take it out to the rain so far.

Great little guns. But, while they do look the same as a 92 they do not function the same. Cheetahs are direct blow back, 92s are not.
