Your kids are amazingly capable for their ages. I'm always impressed by the things they do. This shows you the difference between kids with hands-on practical experience and sitting in front of the TV. Awesome!
I'm 71 years old and until I was 20 and married had never eaten any meat that hadn't been hunted and killed by my parents. I was reared on elk, venison and antelope meat. Too bad you and your family haven't had that privilege. But now I have difficulty finding grass finished meat. Your privileged on your own land!
My family just moved out to the country and I can't wait to grow my own food. Especially with the coronavirus and the store meat shortage growing your own food is more important than ever.
Gideon was hilarious today. "Overall" health, Eating Bear 🐻, sheep that marry, and Loved that music used on the time lapse garden/kitchen segments. Fun show!
Something I wish more self sufficient homesteaders were aware of that happens in a real collapse, and happened in the Great Depression. There were millions of totally self sufficient homesteaders that were nowhere near the dust bowl and were on fertile land that they owned outright, that still got forced off their land. What happens, and happened, was that as a state and municipality goes bankrupt, they just keep hiking the land tax until you can’t possibly pay it. So if you think you won’t need cash or gold to stay on your land in a collapse, history has unfortunately proved this is not the case. And 6 million mostly self sufficient Americans starved to death in the 30s to prove it.
I'm working toward producing all of our meats here. Hopefully within a year. We really love watching you guys and the kids involved and learning. Keep up the good work and God bless you all
I remember when those sheep were very skittish. Nice to see how friendly they have become.interaction of Vision and sheep made me smile as I remembered when you first got them.
Justin for those of us listening with EarPods the music is really loud compared to your voices, so much so that I’ve occasionally have had to quickly pull them out of my ears, just FYI. Thank you so much for sharing your farming & family adventures!
Hello Justin. My family and I have been watching for a little while now and we love your channel. We visited the Asheville area a few years ago from Florida, (we actually stayed in Marshall) and we absolutely loved it. It is so nice how you and your wife are raising your children to be so hardworking and responsible. And you are your wife are so caring and respectful. With all that has to be done around the farm, I was just curious if the kids go to school or are homeschooled? I know you mentioned one of the boys and a tutor on a recent video. I was just curious. 🙂 Thank you for taking your time to put out the quality content that you put out. I know my family and so many other families really appreciate it. 🙂
I was waiting for your vlog from two days, first thing I do when I wake up is check RUclips for your vlog, you guys do great job and your my inspiration. Lots of love from India
If you really use the vacuum sealer a good deal, consider looking into the Cabela's uncut roll bags. They come in different sizes and you can make custom bags. We have been using them for a few years and we found they are cheaper and better quality. The ability to custom size the bag helps prevent waste.
Gideon is talkative today! Glad to hear the back is better. Sheep showing some personality.. Teddy whata whirlwind..luv Nancy's, been around for years..great links thanks!
My little garden is tiny compared to yours. With every green bean or tomato I pick, I don't have to buy these at the store anymore. Thanks for inspiring me to grow and feed my family.
Washington State is stockpiling food and I know of one other State doing the same. We do have a few food shortages due to weather issues over past 2 years, Iowa just lost massive corn crops. As well as logistics issues.
I always start my day by watching your video (here in India it's morning) now it's turned into my morning chore 😂so whenever you don't post a video i go back and see a old one instead keep doing the great👏work that you do we always appreciate 🙏❤😊it!!....
So good to hear your back is getting better! The sheep are really tamed nicely now. Elk meat is very healthy. I feed three families when I get one and there’s no fat. They have tallow deposits in separate areas on their bodies. When I take it to the butcher I ask him to add beef fat to the ground elk meat. Cooks better that way.
Gotta say that since you do so much at a time getting the more industrial model makes sense. Most of us dont do so much at once, unless we but from the farmers market. Keep up the good work!!
I believe Giddian love to play find the shoes find the tools.. I laugh so hard.. cause he has got to be the only farmer I know that he can have boots separate a mile away.. his boots need trackers.. love watching all ur kiddos they are all so unique.. u have patience of gold.. mama.. is Teddys hero too..
LOL...I thought that thing was an old fashioned push mower (we have one 'just in case'). Instead of a gridder, for my raised beds I started using one of those square foot gardening grids. It made a HUGE difference! Next season will be amazing because this season has been one of learning.
Elk is a great meat to bulk up the freezer...it can be a bit gamey if it's not seasoned really well...chilli and stew are our favorite recipes for it! We love watching the adventures and progress you all share with us. Thank you guys🥰
I’m happy you guys teach your children about the importance of healthy food & so much more. It gives me hope for the future generations ❤️ Ya’ll should be proud! My kids learn from watching & definitely love seeing all the animals. So Thank you Justin & The beautiful Rebekah for sharing the abundance of knowledge and hard work! Sending appreciation & blessings. 🌻
Vacuum sealing is the best way to go for freezing. I'm hoping to get a good one at some point. I wish Azure standard was in our area, but i checked and it's not. Bless you guys! Much love.
Thanks! Great info . . . and just in time. (no pun intended) Like you, our FoodSaver vacuum sealer can't keep up with our needs. We'll go searching for your recommendation "Excalibar" band vacuum sealer.
Hi..... Justin Rhodes and Rebecca nice to see you all, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐥🐕🐖🐈🌱🐑🐄💒🎥👍👍👍
LOL.. The last thing I thought I'd ever hear from J.R. is "friends with benefits". I laughed and laughed. Then things were low key normal, when suddenly I'm chugging energy drinks and busting a bass drop at the cabbage planting bed! What a wild ride you bring us on Mr. Rhodes. :D
I am so glad you and your family share your every day lives with us in is video s with us it great see you all So What happen if your ewes have ewe lambs what you doing next ???? Ty lots
Good vid, worth the wait ; however ? What in tarnation was all that racket going on in the background? It sounded like a new freeway was being driven accross the front of the house. I don't no but have you ever tried olive oil, I mean that's a lot of butter and you ever tried fying those green beans in a little olive oil for five minuets and add a little tomatoe then the salt when it's cooked, that simple recipe for beans takes some beating. Sure you can do it with butter but the outcome taste different along with texture.
It looks to me that Teddy has what my kids call " The Zoomies" . LOL When our animals get crazy running like that , they call it the Zoomies. LOL You're very fortunate to have Azure in your area. We don't have that. The closest one to us is 100 miles away and I've tried to get people interested in it but they are too much into Walmart ( yuck). The shipping would cost too much to get to where we are at. I hate shopping now and can't stand going into town to shop since this pandemic.
“Are they gonna marry? Well they’re gonna be friends with benefits...” I lost it lol😂
How blessed your children are to have a father as patient as you, Justin.
Your kids are amazingly capable for their ages. I'm always impressed by the things they do. This shows you the difference between kids with hands-on practical experience and sitting in front of the TV. Awesome!
I love how Lilly always wants to help dad. Especially with cooking!

"Friends with benefits." lol we've had that same talk many times...
Gideon was hilarious today. "Overall" health, Eating Bear 🐻, sheep that marry, and Loved that music used on the time lapse garden/kitchen segments. Fun show!
Green beans cooked in a chilli-tomato sauce is a favourite Turkish breakfast with a poached egg on top, mmmmm!
Oh, and loving Lilly's chefs hat!

I have learned just how much Amazon can supply me with during this quarantine! Great video!!
I thought Mr Brown had a head lamp on. He’s doing a great job helping here! So darn cute!

We will never be out of butter.....nice shopping beautiful one.💪💪
Nancy's honey yogurt is amazing. I love dollops of it on broccoli.
I just learned a lot of great info from this video. Thank you!
I found a local grass fed rancher, here in Phoenix....he has the most beautiful meat and offal which I feed to my pups....
Neat to see what you do buy for foods. Thanks guys.
Bison ,& beefalo are amazing. Oklahoma has farms with both. Elk caribou moose are all tasty too.
Love that you guys use Azure, I found them pre pandemic and I’ve never been disappointed! 💗💗
I walked in the house 3 times yesterday for twine ... forgot all 3 times 🤣😂🤣...
LOL. This makes me feel better :) Glad I'm not the only one.
Good job mr brown👍🏻.. i love watching this family..🥰🥰🥰follower from dubai
Teddy jumping up: That's not love it is dominance. You have to train him not to jump up.
Nice to see that I’m early. I hope you and your family are having a wonderful evening
Elk tenderloin was one of the most delicious and unusual things I have ever tasted. I've only had it once, in Lafayette, LA, of all places.
Justin: ''please stoppp!'' Teddy: ''adds extra speed'' xD
I need some cool planting music like that! Haha
Yup I just got myself 2 10K flat packs of fresh local peaches and am working on preserving them going to can most of them and will freeze a few.
Yes, your back. I was having weekend withdrawals, LOL!!!
Thanks!
Great info . . . and just in time. (no pun intended)

Wasn't Rebecca on about you farming some Rabbits?? They are easy breed well like rabbits and are very tasty!!! Keep up the good work 👌
Bear the steer! So cute!
Terrific. Keep it up. We need more livestock.
When you said Rebekah aka the beautiful one, it reminds me of homesteading off the grid. He calls his wife aka giggly girl.
Do you have a list of minerals and suppliers somewhere? I haven't found it. Thank you for all you do. You have a beautiful family.
"Overall" healthy? Hahahaha! Love Mr. Brown
You can put the plastic bags in a bowl or pot to keep it steady (and hands free) whilst you fill. Everyday in every way...
Danelle uses Azure as well.
Love Nancy’s! So good.
Hi..... Justin Rhodes and Rebecca nice to see you all, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐥🐕🐖🐈🌱🐑🐄💒🎥👍👍👍

Are the vacuum sealed beans shelf stable or do they need to be refrigerated/frozen?
Ejote is green bean. 👍😊
Awesome y’all! 👍👍👍💯💯💯
Green Bean = Ejote in Spanish 👋🏻 greetings from Mexico
It is not nationwide, you can’t get it from Maine down to Virginia. I’ve been trying for years and I’m in New Jersey
Oh bummer!
Back problems? Get yourself a rumble roller. I had back problems, and rolling on that thing saved my back. No pain, no problems, no more chiropractor
loved lilly in her cheff hat
Only buy our beef, chicken, pork and eggs from farmer friends at the SFC Farmers Market in Austin, Texas. No sweatshop meat for us. Joy Giles
Where did you get the garden layout roller?
Justin my name is Lorena I live here in Helena Mt. I grew up on white tail and mule 🦌. Also on elk and bison. yummy! Elk is delicious! So is bison!!

Great video 😊
Where's the bug net from?! We are needing to invest in some!!
I laughed out loud at "friends with benefits." Keep doin' what you're doin'. :)

So What happen if your ewes have ewe lambs what you doing next ????
Ty lots
We'll harvest them too. If we have extra we will sell them.
I WISH Azure standard was nation wide. It’s not. Not available in New England, above PA! 😩
Oh man! I didn't know that. Bummer.
Good vid, worth the wait ; however ? What in tarnation was all that racket going on in the background? It sounded like a new freeway was being driven accross the front of the house.

What brand is the cheese?
Would you ever breed the odd sheep. Maybe rear them and sell them or have them for an extra food source?
What mineral supplements do you use for your sheep?
Why can't you shrink wrap heritage chicken? Just curious...
Do you guys make rice and oat milk
So bummed that Azure doesn't drop anywhere near New England. :-(
I was checking out the cheese and butter on Azure but I'd have to drive nearly 500 miles to the nearest drop location. No can do! 😧
Rebecca, I've never raised heritage meat chickens, only CC's. Why Can't you shrink wrap heritage chickens?
It looks to me that Teddy has what my kids call " The Zoomies" . LOL When our animals get crazy running like that , they call it the Zoomies. LOL You're very fortunate to have Azure in your area. justin, pardon my cloudy brain..are the links in the description places to shop for food,or suppliers to homesteaders and farmers?
Uncle Justin, perhaps you could employ Josiah as FARM TOOL AND FIXINGS INVENTRY AND STORAGE MANAGER. WOW! Never be misplacing anything again.😁
Cool vids oh green beans is Spanish are chicharos 😀
