yes she had vocal polyps before and had to have them removed so that she could play again. this is probs before the surgery that fixed her voice. there are a couple videos where you can see her REALLY struggling to sing

She had surgery IMO. To be fair, she recorded most of her old songs when she was a high school so the pitch were way higher.
