    Absolute masters to live as they do with so litte industrial input. Dr. Weston Price would smile at their continued healthy teeth and bodies. "Primitive" is our term for something that is in fact a distillation of thousands upon thousands of years of thriving in the wilderness using minimal inputs from things that nature manifests anyway. Respect!!!

      modern materials exist now, the hadzabe arent trapped in the stone age. they are wearing modern clothing and their shoes are made from rubber from car tires. paracord is superior to natural bowstring materials such as sinew and rawhide so why wouldn't they use it if their goal is survival and hunting prey successfully?

    • @RijuChatterjee

      I think they might have used palm frond fibers pre-contact but I guess modern string is just too convenient to buy in exchange for a few bone necklaces or whatever, compared to how long it takes to make palm frond rope by hand.

    incredible that they make a functioning hunting weight bow using just a thin branch... and the damn thing somehow doesn't break despite having such a pronounced crown. I guess it goes to show just how much leeway you have when making a bow. it might not be the fastest bow or last forever, but if all you need is a knife, a branch and a couple of hours, why bother making something that takes a lot more effort?

    • @loriekaczmarek9788
      @loriekaczmarek9788 2 месяца назад +4

      Been making " primitive" bows and using them a long long time. Don't let a skinny stick fool ya into thinking it's somehow inadequate to modern machine made computer designed, fiberglass monstrosities . They could shoot a m9dern bow if they could afford the carbon fiber arrows, however, most " modern " hunters couldn't hit the broad side of a elephant with their bows. It's a totally different shooting style than pull hold, wait till Lazer guidance system locks onto critter.

    • @DouglasEKnappMSAOM
      @DouglasEKnappMSAOM Месяц назад +1

      @@loriekaczmarek9788 I also love and make stick bows but you can't say that a modern bow isn't better in all ways but Style and use of natural materials. They have low hand shock, VERY high foot per second that we could never match, they have light draw weight when fully pulled, they have triggers, aimers etc that lets you hit a bullseye at 70 meters! An the perfection of a carbon arrow is way better than most wood ones (bamboo might come close) but also that fact that EVERY arrow is the same makes a huge difference. All that said, I love my self made bow! Still at 100 meters, I would have no chance in a contest.
