If I ever get to name an XLR Mic, I hereby promise to name it something more creative than "Mic"...
Why no one has called a microphone or audio interface “the speak easy” baffles me
Certainly an interesting mic. Sounds pretty good! I suppose you didn't do any EQ and thus why the Podmic sounded the way it did, but the sound straight out of the box on this thing is nice and "podcasty." Warm and boomy. I dig it. Maybe a little on the slightly more expensive side I think. Have you gotten to check out the Avermedia Live Streamer Mic 330 and the Fifine k658 dynamics by any chance? Would be cool to see vids on em. The Avermedia needs EQ tho FYI in case you do check it out lol.
Wonderful and detailed video, loved it.
Your videos are awesome man, I love them! Suscribed to the newsletter as well
Wonderful integration of video sponsor and continuation of the video... Wish everyone could be so smooth. Great job. 👏
I just purchased the Shure SM7B almost 2 months ago. The new GOXLR MICROPHONE SOUNDS GREAT FOR THAT PRICE! SHURE SM7B HAS MORE CLARITY TO ME. I only paid $350 for the Shure SM7B, but it depends what use you will use each microphone 🎙 for.
First!! I love your videos, so helpful and understanding! Thank you so much!! Keep it up!
When I saw the title, I thought this was going to be the Beacn gear. But no. TC Helicon actually made another product finally... Glad to see them start up Wonka's Factory again. Any chance of finding a golden ticket when you buy a mic?
Oh man I am really looking forward to the Beacn reviews. I saw the unboxing of their new stuff that's coming and it looks really promising. Hopefully it's priced reasonably and if their software can compete with the Elgato software then they will have an absolute winner on their hands.
@Rechat I know, mine arrives tomorrow lol
Keep going 😊
"plugged directly into the wave xlr" i died laughing
tc helicon is prolly raging lul
Just got mine and I love how it sounds in comparison to my Ride Pod Mic. I just don't like the double articulating mount. Do you know if it works with any shockmounts?
Is that good for live-streaming singing live on yt? Would you recommend or Shure SM58 dynamic instead Tnx very informative vlogs
The mic sounds good! I kinda expected them to announce a mic since Beacn came out with theirs...🤔
what would be a good boom arm mic for out of camera? for sit and talk youtube videos? or streaming/gaming
I like it, both the way it looks and the quality of the sound. How does it compare to the Elgato Wave 1 which seems to be the go to microphone for anyone new.
Cool review an mic. The question here is, is the Go XLR still worth to buy in 2022? or are there better options to get the same functionality? Moreover, does anyone knows if an inminent GO XLR hardware update is coming soon? Cheers!
That’s a pretty decent sounding mic for $150
There's all ready plenty of dynamic xlr mics under $150. There's really no point to this
@@BeersAndBeatsPDX examples
@@samyt681 sm57/58, podmic, and plenty more
When do these go on sale? I can't even buy it on their website. Amazon is not even listed.
It makes sense for TC helicon to make an mic. They have lots of studio grade preamps and interfaces way before they started making streaming spesifikk stuff
Saying this microphone is good for streaming is like saying a chefs knife is great for cutting carrots... Yeah it's great for it but it will cut anything
NGL, after all hearing some chatter about the team leaving, im surprised they came out with a new product. it looks pretty solid!
Next week... Beacn Made A Microphone...
Sounds so good, but the MV7X kills it remarkably, but! For little more, and for little less the Podmic doesn´t sound terrible at all, but over picking Podmic I would go with Procaster
Can you use rode podmic windscreen to solve the plosives issue??
What is your opinion of the beacn mic vs this?
SO here we are.... SHURE MV7 or GOXLR Mic? I have a SM7B but we need a comparison vid!
what boom amrs can it fit on to?
Not a bad deal!
Good 😊 Job
Anyone use this on the Wave Arm LP?
Very good looking mic and great sound. I feel like they could've lowered the price by removing the colored rings. Instead just let people choose one when buying said mic, or sell them separately. No one is going to need them all really, so that's pretty much a waste the consumer has to pay for.
Goxlr software needs a Mac version 🙏🏽
👍😁
Mv7 has the sound I want, but the podmic seems to work for everyone.
The goxlr looks best, so 🙈
Ey, if you're going to take someone's style, at-least you're taking from one of the best. Not sure if this a mic Podcastage would ever touch, but good job either way.
So Pete, do you keep your puppy washed and dry?
The real questions... Right here, ladies and gentlemen.
Can i plug and use it or i need goxlr or some xtra cables to make it work on my pc
You need an XLR interface. You won't need the phantom power for a dynamic mic, but XLR cables do not plug into computers naturally. They do make XLR to USB cords/adapters, but they're usually terrible. Plus, you won't have a physical mute button which is important to a lot of people, so a mixer with either a mute or volume knob is ideal, or software mute hotkey.
How do you plug an xlr mic to a PC?
You need a audio interface that connects from usb to your pc.
@@selw0nk thank you.
ngl the Shure mic sounded alot better than both.
I like this mic, but I wouldn't buy it, because due to the way my setup has to be built currently, I require a shock mount of some kind, otherwise the impact of typing on my keyboard is transferred to the mic arm and thus to the mic. When a shock mount is made for this mic, by TC Helicon or a third party, I'd see about upgrading to it!
WoOoOOoOooOoW
if you are doing a podcast or some other thing with many people pressent, the rings are ideal.
Seems like a waste to have a set in each mic though. Would be perfectly fine as a side add on. This could reduce the initial cost of the mic even if slightly
Really good but why make so much waste with those garbage color rings. Might just as well put a led like Beacn Mic
TC Helicon Vocal Horn Blower would have been a better name.
Adorama have them for 124.
Can you make a goxlr setup with a SMB7 please and thanks o7 from El Salvador
*SM7B sir. And i absolutely recommend you buy an XLR powered desibel booster for it because it's notoriously hard to run out of "cheap" consumer grade preamps. You can't go wrong with an cloudlifter or a fethead. I use the fethead
Other then that, be aware of "the proximity effect" on the mic. If you like the "bass heavy, inn your ear" sound, have it close to your mouth. I try and place mine about an 🤙 away from my mouth
@@RealGengarTV I use the SM7B and the GoXLR and run the mic at 51db. No need for any fethead or gain booster.
@@RealGengarTV GoXLR has Midas Preamps built-in, which provide more than enough gain to power the SM7b right out of the box. There's no need for an in-line booster.
I have my SM7b plugged into a GoXLR sitting at 52 db of gain and it comes through loud and clear.
Ay ok ok. I got an focusrite 2i4 (v.2) and although I do have enough to drive (specs say 56db cranked) it i almost have no headroom at all and find i get better results with an in line preamp, but the goxlr seems to have stronger preamps. I can't seem to find spesifikk details about it
Just bought the algato wave 3 lol I was gonna buy a setup for xlr but it doesnt fit the budget for me right now. I still need a boom arm and a shock absorber for my mic. Maybe in the near future I will switch to xlr setup.
Sold out like hotcakes
Eh, my $80 dynamic mic sounds as good as this does, if not better. For that price you might as well invest in that elgato wave xlr for the software, get a cheaper mic like the boom dynamic, and be far far happier.
or buy a wave 3 for $150 and get the software
To be honest they sound the same to me lol
mv7x is waaaaay better
