Just stumbled on this channel as I prepare for my mental health leave from work beginning in 2 days. Sounds like my kind of place! 😀 Looking forward to crafting being my outlet.
I'm so happy you found my channel- and welcome!! I think you’ll be right at home here!!😁Crafting should be everyones mental health outlet-at least in my opinion!!. I hope you stick around and we make lots of stuff together!!!😉 Thanks for watching!!!❤️
Absolutely love this I seen this a while back. I wanted to make it but I could never find the video again I’m so glad I found you again I can’t wait to make this.
I love this piece. I saw a youtuber soak the blocks in coffee then removed them. Let air dry or place in the oven to speed up drying time. They looked great. The stronger the coffee (or tea) and the longer the soak, the darker the wood tone.
Thanks so much Brenda 😊 !! You should totally make the bowl!!!! It's not hard and the end result is great!!! Thanks for watching❤- so glad you like the name of the channel!! lol☺
I know this video is a year old, but it is still one of my all time favorites!!! Someone just posted in a Facebook group "what do you guys do with dollar tree jenga blocks?", so I posted a picture and told everyone to come watch!
Its gorgeous. Hi this is my first time seeing your work and I fell in love with this bowll at first it looks kind of difficult but I watched the whole video, now I'll watch more😊
Thank you so much Delores- and welcome!!!! I'm so glad you found us- and you liked the bowl!!! Thanks for watching- and for this sweet comment- I really appreciate it!😊❤
HI...I have use a gallon Ziplock bag. Put a little stain at a time in the bag with the blocks. Let ALL that air out and mush them around. Once they all are covered. Take the out to air dry. This has worked for me. GOOD LUCK
So happy I found your channel. Your creations are all so high end looking. You have definitely inspired me. You should have so many more subscribers because you have such original ideas, not the same old repeats seen on other channels.
saw the bowl briefly & before i could go to it my screen changed! i was furious!!! didnt see whos video it belongs to either. well got on my computer up came the bowl! before my computer decided where it was going i beat it to the punch. then when i read your screen name, i loved it. when you started explaining how you figured out how to make this i thought she has to have an engineer & math degree!! since you showed step by step i think i will try to make it! you have a new subscriber. sorry about punctuation, etc, new computer & i have alot of learning in this old brain!
Put few blocks in a bowl pour the stain shake or stir the blocks around and continue till you have all done. Much easier when done return left over stain in the original can. I do this with beads so much easier
When I stain a lot of any small pieces of wood I put them in a gallon bag and pour in my stain and zip it up and knead the bag the put them in an old towel and rub off the excess.😊
The DIY struggle made a similar project, recently. I am going to make one, they are beautiful. New sub. 😊❤️ It turned out so gorgeous. Great instructions.
throw all your blocks in a zip lock bag and then pour small amount stain in bag. Zip up and mix up until all covered for a quick cover then pour remainder stain in a appropriate used stain container.
Coffee works well in staining, you can stain lots of blocks at 1 time, they actually come out beautiful. My first time here, & so far I’m loving this channel
as for staining, try lowering a colander into a pan of stain, like a dbl boiler almost. hope this helped and keep up your great inspiration and crafting
I made two of these for Christmas presents and one I have to my dad and his wife. Well, my dad's wife had an interior decorator over yesterday and she couldn't stop raving about my bowl. That is how fancy these look when finished 😊
OMG- that's amazing!! I'm so happy to hear that!! I really love this bowl too- so it makes me so happy to hear stuff like this!! Thank you for sharing, and thank you for watching (and making the bowl!!)❤️❤️❤️
Put the blocks in a ziptop bag and then pour some stain in the bag and zip it closed. "Mix" the blocks and stain together in the closed bag (like you would do if you were marinating meat in a bag) until all of the blocks have been covered in the stain. Remove a batch of stained blocks to dry and then add more blocks to the bag with the stain in it. I have seen several Dollar Tree DIYers use this method to stain larger numbers of those blocks at the same time. Enjoyed your video! Keep up the good work - 😉😉👍👍👍👍
Put your stain in a dish pan. Cut a wire mesh about the same size and set up on blocks with paper towels under it. Dip them in the stain, lay them out on a wire mesh and let drip dry. Fast and easy
@@MedicatedHousewifeDIYs I have stained many thousand pieces of would doing it this way. I always used MinWax stain...it is a bit more liquidy so you dont have to wipe off small pieces like that. Enjoy! I love your ideas!

@@MedicatedHousewifeDIYs thanks so much for the advice. I have started this project and am half way thru the first half. You made the instructions perfectly clear for a total newbie. Thanks again
Here's another tip for dying the blocks...I just completed a bowl using RIT Dye! The color was sage green. Wanted to include a picture but can't figure out how to attach. Lol! But RIT Dye comes in sooo many colors & works beautifully! Just boil the water, add the Dye, the blocks, stir & walaaaah!
thanks so much for the idea- and for watching!!! I'd love to see the sage green dyed blocks!!! If you can- email me a picture- its my channel name (no spaces) at gmail!! Thanks again!!!❤
Thank you so much Beverly!! Thats so nice of you to say- and yes, you should definitely make one of these bowls- they're easy to do- and you will love it so much!!! Thanks for watching!!😀❤

I just found your channel today and I fell in love with this bowl you made. I have now subscribed to your channel. Can’t wait to see more diy projects. 💕
Personally I would have poured the stain into that baggie you had the block in and soaked them all at once, then just snip a tiny bit off one corner of the baggie and put the remaining stain back in it’s original container. Then just lay the blocks out on an old towel and wipe them all off with a rag, But I think the coffee or tea would be cheaper than real stain. This DIY is beautiful, I’m definitely going to try it and see if I can get a head start on Christmas gifts!
When I have alot of blocks to stain I pour my stain in a old crafting g bowl and add my blocks. I do this the night before , then in morning I take the block out and place on paper towel to pat extra stain off then dry with blow dryer and start crafting
I just had the idea instead of sitting there with a foam brush or cloth to stain them I’m gonna try pouring a little bit of stain in a Ziploc bag and then take them out and wipe them down.
Thanks Tracy- Yes that will definitely work- but it will take a bit longer to fully dry- that's the only up side to using a brush! Thanks so much for watching!!!!😊
