I have a feeling that hoyo will artificially make Aventurine meta by making more enemies like the robo gorilla in the future that get countered by shields. Sam and Death also have attacks that deal damage that ignores dmg reduction. I feel like hoyo realized that they made Fu Xuan too OP so they are making enemies specifically designed to counter her and sell Aventurine as the solution.
if they do this and they will force people to pull the characters hoyo wants if they want to clear the content then they will lose many players in the future
Regarding Abundance vs Preservation, Preservation also has a higher taunt value. Since they get attacked a lot more often, they pair naturally with The Hunt, who has the lowest taunt value among the paths. Since Destruction usually manipulates HP, they are more so meant to be paired with Abundance (though, that’s not true for Arlan and possibly Sam)
Even if they are Hunt or Erudition, I still put them beside my Tanks....coz of Energy Burst Clutches. Especially for DPSes who need to use 3-4 SP to reach their Burst.
@@radleytimajo nope if I'm not mistaken her Matrix only gives CC resistance not EFF RES increase. EFF RES stats can resist any form of debuffs including CCs, DoTs, and other debuffs. Aventurine on the other hand can give a 50% EFF RES to all allies protected under his shield including him plus he gains a self-CC resist.
FX skill won't be able to block stat debuff (atk, def, speed ⬇️) and DoTs. Only CCs like mind control, imprison, stun, etc, but only 1 time per skill. For Aventurine, it's more of a chance to dodge debuffs as long as they are shielded.
imo both are good but I wouldn't be surprised if hsr introduces content down the line that will give aventurine a slight advantage. that's just how these games work, keeping the meta changing even in slight favor of new units = sales
This was exactly what I needed. I really want a sustain and I can't decide whether to get Aventurine or wait for FuXuan's rerun. I'd love to have them both for different reasons. Maybe I'll leave it up to fate: pull for Aventurine and if I lose the 50-50 I'll save the rest for FuXuan instead. XD
Same here. I like FX as a character much better, but having been sustained by Gepard through the early game content, I would be very comfortable with the "shields, but better" playstyle of Aventurine. But I'm definitely going for Jingliu, so I'm probably going to have to skip Aventurine.

Worth mentioning that Aventurine can inflict debuffs on both Ult and FUA. With Trend of the Universal Market. can debuff off turn, making him probably the best sustain for Acheron. You could also use him with Dr Ratio and 2 harmony supports. I was going to skip him but now not so sure.
debuff on fua is only with his sig. so if you run trend you can only debuff off turn and on ult, which isn’t bad but something to note. also could be possible Acheron gets another sustain in the future that she would prefer over aventurine.
Actually if you wanna use a Preservation sustain, Fire MC would actually be Acheron’s BIS tank with Universal equipped. While Aventurine can do the job, he can’t 100% guarantee the debuff being applied by being hit, while Fire MC has a taunt to guarantee the burn proc.

5:08 slowing down enemies is also some sort of a sustain method. Lets say you're fighting against triple Sam, Aventurine outshines Fu Xuan there. It's not just follow up attackers, Acheron also likes Aventurine. He's arguably her best in slot sustain.
aventurine actually has crowd control mitigation on himself for 2 times after he used his skill it's in one of his traces so even if your team is cced he still does his own follow up atk whenever the enemy hits your team with his shield Also I want to say that fu xuan can get powercreeped by mobs with massive aoe dmg and healing reduction and we're already seeing that with Sam in penacony being more difficult for her to deal with compared to shielders
I mean aventurine will also get powercreeped if they make bosses and enemies that counter shields. And it will probably happen when a new sustain releases. So is he a better investment for future ?

There is one more thing to aventurine, in SU there are a lot of good buffs for shielders and not so many for fu’s kit. I’m looking forward to see a high lvl conundrum with aventurine as sustainer
@@p1p3B0mber yeah but you don't have to pick that one and you can also combine abundance/preservation blessings with the destruction path to boost survivability. I think the destruction blessings give enough shields and heals on their own though and there's also that blessing that can revive a fallen unit
@@omppu65 the only issue with destruction path is that Cataclysmic Variable always wastes 1 stack of her passive after activating resonance. Other than that, team is basically immortal.
I think they will probably add enemies who can deal dmg based on our units hp. It can br quite detrimental for characters with high hp like fuxuan. The only way to mitigate that is probably shields (just an idea)
I don't think fuxuan is as hard as you think to get powercrept/nerfed. Bosses like Sam already weakened her global viability cause they suck fixed amount of the team hp anyways without hitting them directly. If you don't have enough dps to finish him quickly the longer the fight the weaker fuxuan condition is against him compared to other healers. They already think of ways to nerf her, that's something I really like about hsr team is that they keep balancing the game indirectly with ways that doesn't break it.

Feel the need to point out: Fu Xuan’s method of sustaining the team by mitigating damage is (currently) unique to her, so she’s (probably, don’t have her lol) extremely valuable in double sustain comps. Running multiple sustains who do the same thing can lead to diminishing returns; you can’t heal characters past full HP, and shields (from different sources because APPARENTLY I have to clarify that) don’t stack with each other, so personally I feel like running a healer and a shielder generally provides more value than either two healers or two shielders. Pretty much every other sustain in the game right now primarily sustains the team by either healing or shielding; Fu Xuan has a different kind of sustain that isn’t either of those, yet she provides many of the benefits of a shielder (making your team more resistant to oneshots) without the downside of their shields wearing off, which happens a lot if you’re running a hypercarry who takes many turns. Her damage mitigation also works in tandem with shields to sustain the team, rather than one simply overshadowing the other (which would be the case with two shielders). Personally, I run double sustain comps in SU, it’s the only way I’ve gotten as far as I have in Gold and Gears. I use Lynx and Gepard, and I’d probably swap out Lynx for Fu Xuan if I had her (since Fu Xuan also provides some healing, and SU provides many additional sources of healing, plus buffs that increase healing received).
@@43d4n5 Aventurine is one character. His shields don't stack with shields from another character so you wouldn't want to run him with another shielder.
I think Aventurine's Imaginary type is very fitting for a sustain unit, even if he dabbles in damage. In the end, you want your sustain to prevent as much damage as possible, be it a shield or slows or healing. It also helps mitigate Aventurine's lack of CC cleansing abilities.
One important thing is that both can be power creeped For Fu Xuan they can release an unremovable debuff that blocks you from healing and for Aventurine an enemy that attacks throught shields. So just pull for who you like the most
Shiueld penetration is a neat idea, but kinda shit as well TBH. If they do it, you have two sides and if they start doing it on both sides then that's idiotic because they cuck people who decided to buy their characters. I also doubt it will ever happen. Even Sam mechanic can be brute forced with HH, just makes it harder

I just think that it really wasn’t explored in the video with all the different ways hsr has made or could make fu xuan less favourable to use and the bias was clear regarding that
@damozv FX is a basic attacker anyways. You only refresh her skill every 3 turns unless something goes horribly wrong. And that doesn't change in the Sam fight. She offers more utility than just mitigation, and did just as well in the Sam fight as any other fight I've taken her into. The only fights I've ever struggled to bring her in has been Swarm and the weekly bug.
Man, this patch is insane. I just hit Equilibrium 5, with a (kind of) decked main team and in the process building the account with endgame in mind. Each and every banner has something that could be very valuable for me!
It's going to depend on how chunky his shield is: the fact that it's party wide AND stackable is great, but it might also mean that it's a small one. Having to skill every turn to keep the party alive might be problematic (depending on how skill hungry the rest of the team is, of course)

Although I’m not sure if they’re the same as his skill; they might be. Meaning he might not have to use skill every turn. I guess we will have to wait for his release
@@Justin-Thyme his shield from skill is about 80% the size of geppys but it gets stronger and keeps refreshing all the time plus it stacks to 2 times the normal value which makes it much stronger than gepards, honestly theres no combination of enemies you can find a fully defensive aventurine cant deal with

@@Cocxy69 FX could also use Broken keel. You know what else she could do? Permanent and consistent crit buff instead of having to rely on your ultimate to get it. Aventurine's CDM is also a form of debuffs, it's tied to the enemy's turn, and it makes him anti synergical with someone who can manipulate enemies' turns like Ruan Mei because RM's thanatoplum rebloom actually counts as 2 turn for the enemies when they try to recover from breaks which makes aventurine's debuff expire way faster. FX is all about consistency, and Aventurine's whole kit literally revolves around gambling.
I have a question! I'm really struggling to decide if I should pull for Luocha, Aventurine, or Fu Xuan. My main team is E0S0 DHIL, E0S1 Sparkle, E0S0 Silver Wolf, and E6 Lynx. At the moment I have a guaranteed event character but I'm low on pulls and pity so I don't know if I'll be able to grab Luocha. If I save over 2.1, I think I'll be able to get Fu Xuan + her light cone. I appreciate that Aventurine has a lot of potential and he's probably a good choice, but I don't use Dr. Ratio nor do I have Topaz. I also have Seele and she needs the crit rate boost to reach 100% so I'm heavily leaning toward Fu Xuan. I'll list the rest of my characters, let me know who's the best option! Great points, but i do have a pretty decent built gepard, and I'd like fu xuan more for her offensive buffs. She fits really well with ratio, seele,jing yuan and jing liu
One is a for fua team and probably future ipc team and the other one is for monoquantun. Fuxuan is better for general basic team i guess, but honestly both are kinda the same powerlevel lol. Also shield is becoming more meta, so adventurine would probably be a better investment.
@@SoroionoGepard e1 is great as a sustain, but both FX and Aventurine will feel more comfy to play. Since Gepard's shield is locked to his ultimate, he can't be quite as consistent with keeping his team shielded - especially for fast characters who take a lot of turns since his shield is connected to his allies' shields. FX's and Aventurine's sustain is both connected to their skill. FX has to refresh her skill every 3 turns, and has a tiny amount of team healing on her ultimate. Aventurine should refresh his shield every 2 turns, unless in a FUA team since FUAs refresh his shield and makes him more SP positive. FX and Aventurine are both great options, and you can't go wrong with either of them. FX is better in single target and Aventurine is better in aoe. Keep in mind though, that the meta often shifts to the newest character coming out. I don't expect FX to struggle, but it's undeniable that in the upcoming fights, Aventurine will be a better option.
@@vroomvroom9911 Literally, unless we get another character who provides the same kind of damage mitigation she does, she can't be completely powercrept. Most other sustain units either rely on healing or shielding to protect the team, meanwhile Fu Xuan's sustain is unique to her so she won't lose value if you're running a double sustain team or smth.
@@vroomvroom9911People are just throwing around the word "power creep" too much. Even if Aventurine is better than Fu Xuan, she will still be the second best sustainer in the game. It's not like she would go straight to F tier just because Aventurine exists.
HYV needs to sell sustainers, and with all players needing only 1 on each side, they continually shift the meta around to bait players into pulling. FuXuan is definitely strong but I’m expecting the meta to slowly shift away from her damage mitigation style similar to how Sam does it in the story. When she returns is when HYV will probably start adding enemies that hard counter shields.
As a Fu xuan haver, she is great, the only time she died for me was when I used her lvl 1 for shits and giggles, however aventurine (from the trial) feels like he's hard asf to kill too (basically a 5 star gepard) so yeah, if you gonna pull just pull for aesthetics and some synergies like mono quantum or follow ups
i have luocha, gepard, huo huo and fu xuan. and still pulling for himmaybe because im simping for his snapping fingers sound. and im pulling for a guy😏
Aventurine is undoubtably super powerful but I don't think he outvalues Fu. the guaranteed one time CC resist is just too good especially compared to a tiny 50%eff res that also requires him to skill. unless his damage ends up being outrageous (for a sustain) I think they'll be on par with each other
I don't think you read his lit correctly, he gives himself cc resist just like fu xuan and the 50 effect res is always there as long as they have a shield

This is the exact topic I was looking forward to. Great content as always. My bias choice is the same as yours. Fu Xuan's kit just feels a lot better than Aventurine's kit. Her eidolons offer better ROI as well.
that comment on the typing for adventurine's typing is so true! I never understood why they made March and Gepard ice for the same reason, I dont want the freezes (as useful as they are) because it takes a turn off of your shields depending on your speed
on the other hand, the freeze is also useful if you're not quite able to gepard ult yet and need one more turn or to freeze the field with March to avoid damage overall (her follow ups aren't doing much damage anyway)
the freeze is when your shield is down, basically working as a turn extension for negating dmg. thats why any non cc break will be lower value because if your shields drop then youre taking full dmg. Gepard and march would be worse if they were wind, fire, lightning, not better
Also keep in mind that FX's damage mitigation relies on casting her Ult and we already have enemies that decreases energy. Not able to refresh her stack means she can't continously mitigate the damage. Adventurine can keep up with his shield through his skills(uses SP) but also with his talent
it's kinda weird he didn't mentioned Sam, but even Luocha struggling to heal the team because of the meteor and combine dot from him and bleed robot so it is safe to say that everyone struggling with him. Ngl the best counter against him is to break his shield fast and left him vulnerable longer(Ruan Mei).
Aventurine has the same cc prevention type of value fu xuan does. 50% eff res is enough to resist plenty of debuffs and for fu xuan you need to use her skill alot of times to refresh her cc prevention but for aventurine, the 50% eff res is permanent while also having a self cc resist for himself. I think this gives them equal value only because aventurine is a little more sp efficient in this aspect. (and for me who plans to use bronya with aventurine, i won't even have that problem at all)
Aventurine would only be SP efficient in a FUA-focused team. He needs to use his skills whenever his shield runs out (without consistent FUAs, you won't even be able to stack his shields for it to be able to protect your team). The Eff Res Aventurine gives to his allies is from his shield, so it's not permanent. Also, if there are more enemies later having higher EHR, Aventurine higher eff res would be useless compared to Fu's guaranteed cc-immune. Shields also has some kind of anti-synergy with speed/fast characters, thus why no one recommends you using Gepard with Asta or Hunt characters cuz the shields will run out while your DPS (especially Hunt characters) is zooming. Fu's dmg mitigation is more like a field, so even if she gets cc'ed or captured, her field is still active.. meanwhile, Aventurine's shields will disappear if he gets cc'ed (very low chance) or captured (this can't be resisted, these are guaranteed). So, no. They're definitely not of equal value, Fu is clearly a much valuable choice than Aventurine.
@@Cocxy69 Something you're forgetting is that shields lasts based on the allies turn and not like Fu (and Luocha and Ruan Mei) meaning he would have anti-synergy with fast teammates. Also, seeing Something Unto Death and Svarog bosses are frequently appearing in MoC and having a guaranteed capture, I doubt they won't be in more MoC levels. So, again, if he gets captured, everyone wouldn't have any shields which will make him useless whereas even if Fu gets captured, her field still stays. Not to mention, 50 Eff Res is only like 30% cc Res. It's nothing compared to a guaranteed cc-immune. Sure, it's better against DoTs and general debuffs.. but I ain't chilling with my teammates having their HP in the red with a shield that could potentially one-shot my team. Also the fact, that being a Preservation IPC unit.. he's definitely gonna be powercrept by Diamond once he's playable. So, no reason in pulling a character that will be guaranteed to be replaced in the future.

But let's not forget, Aventurine will have his own time to shine despite his weaknesses. Also, for your argument for "if he's captured when fighting these enemies", bro, I watched people survive playing even with March 7th. It's all about strategy in my case. That's why you don't just click whatever you want when facing tough opponents. Please don't use the whole "He's gonna be powercrept by another IPC unit." Where do you get the information that Diamond will be replacing him? Like bro, please stop. It's like saying in Genshin, don't pull for Hu Tao back when she's first released becaude the Pyro Archon will be the one powercrept her. We don't have any confirmation on the kits of future units unless you have like future sights. If you're right, I say great for you anyway. But this is a game where players will come and leave or even stay for a long time. There's no guarantee you'll be here long enough to get that unit you think will be the most OP of all.
I got Fu Xuan and her LC and I have no regrets. Her LC specifically is such a QoL crutch with its pre-battle/wave big heal. I literally never have to heal between fights, even in SU after I get that lose 99% hp curio when destroyed thing. Once you get it, you cant go back lol
@@donew1thita11 yeah. Though a boss losing their hp bar and entering phase 2/3 doesnt count. It has to be like the 2nd MoC wave or something and honestly, who the heck needs it then when you have her tanking already. Later on at some point it may be nice though. The actual luxury is between battles. Actually it can be nice in MoC kinda if you dont bother using her skill to save sp or something since you can count on the heal mid-way.
Feel like ur giving way to much cred to fu xuan anti cc passiv. When u think about it, it has rng to it too. If any enemies decide to use 2 cc attacks in a row then there is nothing she can do to stop it since its not a cleanse. Meanwhile with aven + dead substats can bring ur chances up by alot while also blocking all types of debuffs not just cc. Not to meantion fu xuan can get skill point hungry depending in the fight were she needs to skill alot to keep the immunity up
Not to mention alot of aven value for none follow up teams will come with his dmg in aoe, if he brings enough dmg to clear smaller enemies then his value with single target dps would be really good and help with clear
While I do have quite the FUA in my account for a F2P (Topaz E1S1, Ratio, Clara, Blade to a lesser extent), the idea of a Mono Quantum team with Sparkle and Qingque could also be good. Though for that I would still likely need to pick Silver Wolf, and I can just use Lynx as the fourth (though she will have a tougher time than Fu Xuan for sustain). I also have Gepard + LC already (lucky standard banner rolls), but as you said he is kinda counter-intuitive. He certainly is effective still when I use him though. Gepard aside, Aventurine with Gepard LC could be quite a combo; FUAs and shields all over the place. I guess after thinking aloud for it all, while Fu Xuan certainly has some benefits over Aventurine, such has guaranteed CC prevention and helping prevent super-big attacks from nuking a single team member, Aventurine seems to be a better choice overall for how my account currently is. inb4 regret
The problem I have with the Fu Xuan, QQ, SW and Sparkle team is that even though Fu Xuan is good, she can’t sustain. Eventually the team dies out depending on the content. But if I put lynx back in there instead of SW, I still deal massive damage more than SW being on the team because of sparkle, but now I also never die.
🤔 maybe a few possible way for developer to bypass FX is to make enemies that ignore damage sharing effects or ignore all damage reduction. But this will only be targeting Fire MC and FX xD Another plus point for effect resist is XD it can resist enemy’s DoT
is anyone gonna talk about the 12% crit rate buff from fu xuan i feel like that is kinda of busted if you have terrible relic luck ik aventurine gives crit dmg boost but its single target and not 100% uptime but FX's cr buff is kinda permanent as long as u manage ur skill points and the fact that cr buff > cdmg buff edit: the situation still depends on what kind of relics/characters u have rn so it differs for everyone (for me FX is a better choice since my characters are more cr reliant eg seele)
As for my relic's luck, i wouldn't consider that extra CR bc all my DPS have over 90+ CR, some with their buffs and other no. The 100% uptime is arguable, his ult costs 110 energy and he is a preservation unit, so he has high aggro = more energy recharge. I would say 90% of the times that buff will be active. Still, that substat would depend a lot on relic's luck and that can be different for every account, some suffer with it, some don't. Most FUA units right now focuses on ST, so it isn't that bad because he is meant to be played with those characters. I would need gameplay and testing to see if that debuff can still apply for AoE units, like attacking 5 but 1 has it so it counts. Overall CR > CD buff, but that could change with different builds. Some may be CD > CR buff, for example, me who can't reach more than 170 cdmg and others the other way around. But yeah, in general it is CR > CD buff.
@@PanConJamon-wr6pl yeah if u have good relics than the crit buff isnt that necessary but i rarely get relics with good crit substat so 12% can be a lifesaver (and also i dont play FUA so thats another reason) in some cases it can allow u to switch from cr armor to cd armor thanks to that buff
the value of CR vs CD ultimately comes down to the character and the specific relics you have on YOUR account. if person A has pieces that roll into CR and not CD, they'd be saying the opposite and would probably find more value from Aventurine.
Fu xuan can be "nerfed" by an enemy who ignores damage sharing OR have attacks that deal true damage (so it cannot be reduced). We already see a boss that makes fu xuan though to use - Sam. I am not sure if he used these mechanics but i had a hard time surviving with her as a solo sustain. They can also make enemies that just deal too much aoe dmg for fu xuan to survive hit every turn, but if the damage was spread among the team it wouldnt be such big issue and shields would just negate everything. Since she can only flip once every ult she will just run out if sustain or become too skillpoint negative to use. They can also make enemies that deal reduced dmg when target of their attack have a shield. I can see many ways to make her bad option.
Aventurine is more like preservation mix with sub dps (as for his fua kit) capability while fuxuan is more like preservation mix with harmony (as her skill give crit rate) Both good, just know what you need and how you gonna play YOUR acc 🗿

Fu Xuan is easy to powercreep just make Enemies that have Resistance Shred on their kit, On Persona as an Exemple: some bosses have Debilites, Dekaja and Elemental Resistence Shread on their kit. Not that, Aventurine would Survive the instakill... but he would Benefit from dot's on the team to his Follow up. And he has A Imunity to CC on his Traces, So he is probably the Stubborn presavation Character to kill, And that is a lot, since everyone on that path as a Video of not dying on RUclips. Imagine. You're the poor Boss Spaming Stuns and he is just there Tanking it and then you attack again, he Counter attacks your ass and is not even his turn You died. And he just did dmg to you Off turn.
Her res increase is not as huge it's about redirection of dmg directly to her and then healing it. Res shred in HSR affect characters with less res the same so it'll do with more so it'll make shields take way more dmg too. Besides they can easily make enemies who penetrate shields or gets buffs when hitting shields (they have enemies like this in genshin already) so it's not like Aventurine and Gepard will work forever on everything either.
I agree with you, i would take FX over Aventurine currently. 24% CV, Max hp buffs, CC resist, LC giving dmg inflicted buffs, mitigation is better than shields for characters who want to take a hit like Clara or Blade who are more prevalent than characters who don't want to take a hit at all like Yanqing. her element allowing you to reduce SW rng in some teams to apply weakness

In simple terms as ive told others , they arebt better than eachother and it falls mainly on who you like more. There will be content that favors adventurine , and other content that favors fu xuan. When it comes to survivability adven can somtimes do better due to his nature of being sp positive. But fu xuan is too nuetral to positive sp. It mainly comes down to who you wwnt more and what you need more of. In a utility stand point fu xuan is far better than him with the crit , hp, healing...and crd if you have e1. But if you want tons off sub damage while also having just as good sustain, go with avebturine. It isnf much of who powercreeps whom...simce one gives more utilty , and the other gives more sub damage. But some point to say is he does favor fua teams which isnt bad at all, and some might try to use that to an argument but thats not much of a matter to descuss

Aventurine relies on his shields while having 4k defense and low health (even with his shields he doesn't reach Fu Xuan her health). Fu Xuan has very high health, 2k+ defense and massive defense innate buffs + mitigation + heal. Count it all up and Fu Xuan will beat Aventurine in survival.
I think Aventurine's Effect Res buff is massively underrated, especially compared to Fu Xuan's cc resistance : _ that Effect Res buff is permanent (while FX's cc prevention is a one-time thing) _ there are a lot of annoying non-cc debuffs : FX can't do anything about those (she's easily hard-countered by the Ascended, for example : not the case for Aventurine)
What do you mean imaginary contradicts the shields? It supplements them, same as March and Geppard shields. Being broken and stunned for longer also indirectly is a damage boost. Broken enemies take more damage, so being broken for a while lets you use that more. Also defensive debuffs will last longer.
Both are amazing, run one in both teams and profit. Fu-Xuan feels like she gives your team near invincibility unless you get really unlucky with fu xuan being cc'ed and some valuable crit stats. And aventurine is a great mix of shield refreshes, high personal damage, and effect res. Both are top tier, can't go wrong with either.
To me its aventurine. Fu shuan is the only 5 star i regret having. I already have luocha so my biggest concern was enemies with nuke. So who do i use against enemies with nuke. Fu shuan. And what happenes when fu shuan fights an enemy with nuke. She dies first. Everytime. While leaving the rest of my team in low HP un healed. Also sucks that in golden gears most enemies do nuke damage and the fix that they have for that issue is to buff the barriers that shielders cast on the team. And guess what fushuan doesnt do. Mfcking barrier she is literally useless in the harder content for me. I also dont have LC cause i didnt she was that much of a baby when it comes to investment.

he gives 50% effect resistance (which increases your chances of resisting a CC effect) which as an example when I use broken keel on supports and get to that 30% threshold even that is enough to resist most of the time my Bronya has almost 50% effect res and has never gotten CC'd, so while the 50% is not going to always guarantee CC prevention it will definitely be handy a lot of the time imo.
Great video but you lost me at the sentiment against preservation characters having CC mechanics. Preventing enemies from acting or delaying their turns mean they get less opportunities to deal damage to your team. Its exactly what preservation wants to do.
kinda dumb question but if I dont have fu xuan, should I summon for aventurine then? I don't have any 5 star preservation other than baliu and I just cleared the story. my main teams are dot with kafka and planning to use dr ratio. Idk if I should pull for aventurine or archeron more.
Don't forget that eventually, if you keep playing the game, you will be able to clear content regardless of who you pull. The big question should be "do I want to have him" rather than "do I need him".

I think Aventurine is gonna be better tbh. Huohuo already out performs Fu Xuan in late game teams since she helps your team do more damage. Aventurine effectively helps you do the same. I think it largely matters on his stats upon release

I think I’m skipping Ave for FX. I have several reasons: 1) Shields are very in right now, but if I’ve learned anything from Genshin, it’s that shields will fall off in value in the long run. 2) If the enemy focuses down one character, a shield would disappear relatively quickly, so you would have to renew the shield for the entire team just for one character (my eternal Gepard struggle ;-;). FX damage mitigation feels more like the enhanced 3* Destruction blessing in SU that spreads out received damage while also decreasing it. That way, a character cannot be focused down at once. 3) CC block is very OP. Having increased eff RES is always nice, but against enemies that might potentially have very very high EHR, a block is much safer. 4) Free crit rate is always welcome, as from FX field. 5) I use Blade a lot, so having dmg mitigation for me is more useful. Her extra healing doesn’t hurt, either. 6) Aventurine’s follow-up stuff is a little lost on me, as I do not have Topaz nor do I plan on getting her (don’t like her playstyle). I don’t want to get a character then half-ass their potential. 7) More personal, but I really dislike Ave’s animations, while FX’s are gorgeous imo on the other hand. That’s just a matter of taste, though. Can’t wait for her rerun. I’m just praying hers and RM’s are not too close together! Edited for clarity.
I feel like you're downplaying the value of shields. Everything positive you've said about Fu Xuan is true, but I don't think the state of shields in Genshin is indicative of how they will be in HSR (and really they're still useful even in Genshin). There are very few sources of damage which bypass shields in HSR right now; DoTs are still stopped by shields, and even though Sam's SP damage bypasses shields, he also reduces healing by 90%. The Dreamjolt Troupe monke actively encourages you to have a shield to kill it faster. Also, in Simulated Universe, there are a huge amount of Preservation buffs which make shields stronger and grant your characters benefits for having shields. Unless you also have buffs that grant your team shields consistently, you can't utilize any of those buffs with Fu Xuan alone. None of this is to say you shouldn't run Fu Xuan in SimUni, personally I'd probably run both her AND a shielder (Gepard since I don't plan to get Aventurine), because your team would be completely invincible that way. If you're only running one sustain, yeah Fu Xuan is probably the strongest in the game lol.

They could easily counter Fu Xuan's mechanics, just make an enemy that overwrites field effects with their own field or dispells those effects. TBH I don't think they'll do that, but I also don't think that they will make enemies that make shields useless because if they do then many of the defensive options become useless. HSR is a very vertical investment focused game, you can use up to 7 copies of characters and 5 copies of LCs, getting characters up to speed takes a lot of resources, especially grinding relics. I don't think that they will just take large chunks of player investment and throw it in the trash.
If I want to run Aventurine with Acheron together what relic set is worth investing in? 2 pc def and 2 pc diver? I also have the trend lc at s2 and don't know if it's worth pulling for his sig (I have enough saved for Acheron and her sig and I'm not interested in Robin or Boothill).
From what I've seen in videos, who is better depends on the team. Aventurine really needs teammates who can follow-up attack. So I guess if follow-up is your playstyle, he'd be a batter choice over Fuxuan
The most important part of FX's kit is the 12% crit rate. For Aventurine, it's the crit dmg debuff and his higher personal damage. Honestly I think they're pretty even with Aventurine edging it out for some chars like Acheron and for follow up comps. The 12% crit rate's average dmg increase should be similar to the average dmg increase Aventurine brings a lot of the time.
Fu Xuans biggest draws are that her protection and damage mitigation is tied to her own turns no one else, on top of that she has means to heal herself and at least chipdamage to the team. Her LC bringing next level comfort to MoC because your whole team is getting back a lot of what they lost in hp. The whole discussion is not one that fits them. Aventurine is a more reliable FUA centric Gepard. Sure they both shield the team but I don't see a shielder power creeping Fu Xuan. I terms of offensive assist yes he is definitely the way to go, especially if you plan on going FUA teams. That's where he shines the brightest. Fu Xuan you can put on any team and while she lacks buffs to enhance offense for the most, she is just a brick wall offering so much damage reduction that you don't need to worry about it much past firing her ult at the right time.
I have DH IL , jing yuan, kafka , Dr ratio and will also get acheron so between aventurine , Fuxuan , huohuo and luocha which one would you suggest for me to get ?? ( I have fully built gepard , bailu and lynx for sustain )
If they make an enemy that directly takes away HP then that would work against both Fu Xuan and Aventurine, currently Sam does that already, so just imagine that but in the form of an attack. They have similar Weaknesses in my opinion.
I have a feeling that hoyo will artificially make Aventurine meta by making more enemies like the robo gorilla in the future that get countered by shields.
Sam and Death also have attacks that deal damage that ignores dmg reduction. I feel like hoyo realized that they made Fu Xuan too OP so they are making enemies specifically designed to counter her and sell Aventurine as the solution.

Regarding Abundance vs Preservation, Preservation also has a higher taunt value. Since they get attacked a lot more often, they pair naturally with The Hunt, who has the lowest taunt value among the paths. Since Destruction usually manipulates HP, they are more so meant to be paired with Abundance (though, that’s not true for Arlan and possibly Sam)
Hunt and Erudition have the same taunt value, so that's not particularly too much of a distinction aside from Destruction.
Even if they are Hunt or Erudition, I still put them beside my Tanks....coz of Energy Burst Clutches.
Especially for DPSes who need to use 3-4 SP to reach their Burst.

@@radleytimajo nope if I'm not mistaken her Matrix only gives CC resistance not EFF RES increase. EFF RES stats can resist any form of debuffs including CCs, DoTs, and other debuffs. Aventurine on the other hand can give a 50% EFF RES to all allies protected under his shield including him plus he gains a self-CC resist.

FX skill won't be able to block stat debuff (atk, def, speed ⬇️) and DoTs. Only CCs like mind control, imprison, stun, etc, but only 1 time per skill.
For Aventurine, it's more of a chance to dodge debuffs as long as they are shielded.

This was exactly what I needed. I really want a sustain and I can't decide whether to get Aventurine or wait for FuXuan's rerun. I'd love to have them both for different reasons. Maybe I'll leave it up to fate: pull for Aventurine and if I lose the 50-50 I'll save the rest for FuXuan instead. XD

Same here. I like FX as a character much better, but having been sustained by Gepard through the early game content, I would be very comfortable with the "shields, but better" playstyle of Aventurine. But I'm definitely going for Jingliu, so I'm probably going to have to skip Aventurine.

Worth mentioning that Aventurine can inflict debuffs on both Ult and FUA. With Trend of the Universal Market. can debuff off turn, making him probably the best sustain for Acheron. You could also use him with Dr Ratio and 2 harmony supports. I was going to skip him but now not so sure.
Or you can go fua team Ratio Topaz Supp/Debuffer and Aventurine
debuff on fua is only with his sig. so if you run trend you can only debuff off turn and on ult, which isn’t bad but something to note. also could be possible Acheron gets another sustain in the future that she would prefer over aventurine.

Actually if you wanna use a Preservation sustain, Fire MC would actually be Acheron’s BIS tank with Universal equipped. While Aventurine can do the job, he can’t 100% guarantee the debuff being applied by being hit, while Fire MC has a taunt to guarantee the burn proc.

It's not just follow up attackers, Acheron also likes Aventurine. He's arguably her best in slot sustain.
aventurine actually has crowd control mitigation on himself for 2 times after he used his skill it's in one of his traces so even if your team is cced he still does his own follow up atk whenever the enemy hits your team with his shield
Also I want to say that fu xuan can get powercreeped by mobs with massive aoe dmg and healing reduction and we're already seeing that with Sam in penacony being more difficult for her to deal with compared to shielders

@@omppu65 the only issue with destruction path is that Cataclysmic Variable always wastes 1 stack of her passive after activating resonance. Other than that, team is basically immortal.
I think they will probably add enemies who can deal dmg based on our units hp. It can br quite detrimental for characters with high hp like fuxuan. The only way to mitigate that is probably shields (just an idea)
I don't think fuxuan is as hard as you think to get powercrept/nerfed.
Bosses like Sam already weakened her global viability cause they suck fixed amount of the team hp anyways without hitting them directly. If you don't have enough dps to finish him quickly the longer the fight the weaker fuxuan condition is against him compared to other healers.
They already think of ways to nerf her, that's something I really like about hsr team is that they keep balancing the game indirectly with ways that doesn't break it.

Feel the need to point out: Fu Xuan’s method of sustaining the team by mitigating damage is (currently) unique to her, so she’s (probably, don’t have her lol) extremely valuable in double sustain comps. Running multiple sustains who do the same thing can lead to diminishing returns; you can’t heal characters past full HP, and shields (from different sources because APPARENTLY I have to clarify that) don’t stack with each other, so personally I feel like running a healer and a shielder generally provides more value than either two healers or two shielders. Pretty much every other sustain in the game right now primarily sustains the team by either healing or shielding; Fu Xuan has a different kind of sustain that isn’t either of those, yet she provides many of the benefits of a shielder (making your team more resistant to oneshots) without the downside of their shields wearing off, which happens a lot if you’re running a hypercarry who takes many turns. Her damage mitigation also works in tandem with shields to sustain the team, rather than one simply overshadowing the other (which would be the case with two shielders).
Personally, I run double sustain comps in SU, it’s the only way I’ve gotten as far as I have in Gold and Gears. I use Lynx and Gepard, and I’d probably swap out Lynx for Fu Xuan if I had her (since Fu Xuan also provides some healing, and SU provides many additional sources of healing, plus buffs that increase healing received).

@@43d4n5 Aventurine is one character. His shields don't stack with shields from another character so you wouldn't want to run him with another shielder.
If you want crit rate: go for fu Xuan
If you want crit damage: go for Aventurine
At the end both are good and will not disappoint.
I think Aventurine's Imaginary type is very fitting for a sustain unit, even if he dabbles in damage. In the end, you want your sustain to prevent as much damage as possible, be it a shield or slows or healing. It also helps mitigate Aventurine's lack of CC cleansing abilities.
One important thing is that both can be power creeped
For Fu Xuan they can release an unremovable debuff that blocks you from healing and for Aventurine an enemy that attacks throught shields.
So just pull for who you like the most
Shiueld penetration is a neat idea, but kinda shit as well TBH. If they do it, you have two sides and if they start doing it on both sides then that's idiotic because they cuck people who decided to buy their characters. I also doubt it will ever happen. Even Sam mechanic can be brute forced with HH, just makes it harder

@damozv FX is a basic attacker anyways. You only refresh her skill every 3 turns unless something goes horribly wrong. And that doesn't change in the Sam fight. She offers more utility than just mitigation, and did just as well in the Sam fight as any other fight I've taken her into. The only fights I've ever struggled to bring her in has been Swarm and the weekly bug.
I used her against Sam and it was pretty fine, unless your DPS clears really slowly it shouldn't be an issue

Aventurine. Easy. Stonky all party shield skill? Follow up counter attack? Enemy Debuff? Yeah, easy choice.
It's going to depend on how chunky his shield is: the fact that it's party wide AND stackable is great, but it might also mean that it's a small one. Having to skill every turn to keep the party alive might be problematic (depending on how skill hungry the rest of the team is, of course)

@@Cocxy69 FX could also use Broken keel. You know what else she could do? Permanent and consistent crit buff instead of having to rely on your ultimate to get it. Aventurine's CDM is also a form of debuffs, it's tied to the enemy's turn, and it makes him anti synergical with someone who can manipulate enemies' turns like Ruan Mei because RM's thanatoplum rebloom actually counts as 2 turn for the enemies when they try to recover from breaks which makes aventurine's debuff expire way faster. FX is all about consistency, and Aventurine's whole kit literally revolves around gambling.
I have a question! I'm really struggling to decide if I should pull for Luocha, Aventurine, or Fu Xuan. My main team is E0S0 DHIL, E0S1 Sparkle, E0S0 Silver Wolf, and E6 Lynx. At the moment I have a guaranteed event character but I'm low on pulls and pity so I don't know if I'll be able to grab Luocha. If I save over 2.1, I think I'll be able to get Fu Xuan + her light cone. I appreciate that Aventurine has a lot of potential and he's probably a good choice, but I don't use Dr. Ratio nor do I have Topaz. I also have Seele and she needs the crit rate boost to reach 100% so I'm heavily leaning toward Fu Xuan. I'll list the rest of my characters, let me know who's the best option!

Great points, but i do have a pretty decent built gepard, and I'd like fu xuan more for her offensive buffs. She fits really well with ratio, seele,jing yuan and jing liu
One is a for fua team and probably future ipc team and the other one is for monoquantun. Fuxuan is better for general basic team i guess, but honestly both are kinda the same powerlevel lol. Also shield is becoming more meta, so adventurine would probably be a better investment.

@@SoroionoGepard e1 is great as a sustain, but both FX and Aventurine will feel more comfy to play.
Since Gepard's shield is locked to his ultimate, he can't be quite as consistent with keeping his team shielded - especially for fast characters who take a lot of turns since his shield is connected to his allies' shields.
FX's and Aventurine's sustain is both connected to their skill. FX has to refresh her skill every 3 turns, and has a tiny amount of team healing on her ultimate.
Aventurine should refresh his shield every 2 turns, unless in a FUA team since FUAs refresh his shield and makes him more SP positive.
FX and Aventurine are both great options, and you can't go wrong with either of them. FX is better in single target and Aventurine is better in aoe.
Keep in mind though, that the meta often shifts to the newest character coming out. I don't expect FX to struggle, but it's undeniable that in the upcoming fights, Aventurine will be a better option.
Lot of people talking trash about FX really just indicates how many people have trash FX builds.

Most other sustain units either rely on healing or shielding to protect the team, meanwhile Fu Xuan's sustain is unique to her so she won't lose value if you're running a double sustain team or smth.

HYV needs to sell sustainers, and with all players needing only 1 on each side, they continually shift the meta around to bait players into pulling.
FuXuan is definitely strong but I’m expecting the meta to slowly shift away from her damage mitigation style similar to how Sam does it in the story.
When she returns is when HYV will probably start adding enemies that hard counter shields.
As a Fu xuan haver, she is great, the only time she died for me was when I used her lvl 1 for shits and giggles, however aventurine (from the trial) feels like he's hard asf to kill too (basically a 5 star gepard) so yeah, if you gonna pull just pull for aesthetics and some synergies like mono quantum or follow ups

Aventurine is undoubtably super powerful but I don't think he outvalues Fu. the guaranteed one time CC resist is just too good especially compared to a tiny 50%eff res that also requires him to skill. unless his damage ends up being outrageous (for a sustain) I think they'll be on par with each other

that comment on the typing for adventurine's typing is so true! I never understood why they made March and Gepard ice for the same reason, I dont want the freezes (as useful as they are) because it takes a turn off of your shields depending on your speed
on the other hand, the freeze is also useful if you're not quite able to gepard ult yet and need one more turn or to freeze the field with March to avoid damage overall (her follow ups aren't doing much damage anyway)
the freeze is when your shield is down, basically working as a turn extension for negating dmg. thats why any non cc break will be lower value because if your shields drop then youre taking full dmg. Gepard and march would be worse if they were wind, fire, lightning, not better

Also keep in mind that FX's damage mitigation relies on casting her Ult and we already have enemies that decreases energy. Not able to refresh her stack means she can't continously mitigate the damage. Adventurine can keep up with his shield through his skills(uses SP) but also with his talent

it's kinda weird he didn't mentioned Sam, but even Luocha struggling to heal the team because of the meteor and combine dot from him and bleed robot so it is safe to say that everyone struggling with him. Ngl the best counter against him is to break his shield fast and left him vulnerable longer(Ruan Mei).
Aventurine has the same cc prevention type of value fu xuan does. 50% eff res is enough to resist plenty of debuffs and for fu xuan you need to use her skill alot of times to refresh her cc prevention but for aventurine, the 50% eff res is permanent while also having a self cc resist for himself. I think this gives them equal value only because aventurine is a little more sp efficient in this aspect. (and for me who plans to use bronya with aventurine, i won't even have that problem at all)
Aventurine would only be SP efficient in a FUA-focused team. He needs to use his skills whenever his shield runs out (without consistent FUAs, you won't even be able to stack his shields for it to be able to protect your team).
The Eff Res Aventurine gives to his allies is from his shield, so it's not permanent. Also, if there are more enemies later having higher EHR, Aventurine higher eff res would be useless compared to Fu's guaranteed cc-immune. Shields also has some kind of anti-synergy with speed/fast characters, thus why no one recommends you using Gepard with Asta or Hunt characters cuz the shields will run out while your DPS (especially Hunt characters) is zooming. Fu's dmg mitigation is more like a field, so even if she gets cc'ed or captured, her field is still active.. meanwhile, Aventurine's shields will disappear if he gets cc'ed (very low chance) or captured (this can't be resisted, these are guaranteed).
So, no. They're definitely not of equal value, Fu is clearly a much valuable choice than Aventurine.

@@Cocxy69 Something you're forgetting is that shields lasts based on the allies turn and not like Fu (and Luocha and Ruan Mei) meaning he would have anti-synergy with fast teammates.
Also, seeing Something Unto Death and Svarog bosses are frequently appearing in MoC and having a guaranteed capture, I doubt they won't be in more MoC levels. So, again, if he gets captured, everyone wouldn't have any shields which will make him useless whereas even if Fu gets captured, her field still stays.
Not to mention, 50 Eff Res is only like 30% cc Res. It's nothing compared to a guaranteed cc-immune. Sure, it's better against DoTs and general debuffs.. but I ain't chilling with my teammates having their HP in the red with a shield that could potentially one-shot my team.
Also the fact, that being a Preservation IPC unit.. he's definitely gonna be powercrept by Diamond once he's playable. So, no reason in pulling a character that will be guaranteed to be replaced in the future.

I got Fu Xuan and her LC and I have no regrets. Her LC specifically is such a QoL crutch with its pre-battle/wave big heal. I literally never have to heal between fights, even in SU after I get that lose 99% hp curio when destroyed thing. Once you get it, you cant go back lol

Feel like ur giving way to much cred to fu xuan anti cc passiv. When u think about it, it has rng to it too. If any enemies decide to use 2 cc attacks in a row then there is nothing she can do to stop it since its not a cleanse. Meanwhile with aven + dead substats can bring ur chances up by alot while also blocking all types of debuffs not just cc. Not to meantion fu xuan can get skill point hungry depending in the fight were she needs to skill alot to keep the immunity up
Not to mention alot of aven value for none follow up teams will come with his dmg in aoe, if he brings enough dmg to clear smaller enemies then his value with single target dps would be really good and help with clear
While I do have quite the FUA in my account for a F2P (Topaz E1S1, Ratio, Clara, Blade to a lesser extent), the idea of a Mono Quantum team with Sparkle and Qingque could also be good. Though for that I would still likely need to pick Silver Wolf, and I can just use Lynx as the fourth (though she will have a tougher time than Fu Xuan for sustain).
I also have Gepard + LC already (lucky standard banner rolls), but as you said he is kinda counter-intuitive. He certainly is effective still when I use him though. Gepard aside, Aventurine with Gepard LC could be quite a combo; FUAs and shields all over the place.
I guess after thinking aloud for it all, while Fu Xuan certainly has some benefits over Aventurine, such has guaranteed CC prevention and helping prevent super-big attacks from nuking a single team member, Aventurine seems to be a better choice overall for how my account currently is. inb4 regret
The problem I have with the Fu Xuan, QQ, SW and Sparkle team is that even though Fu Xuan is good, she can’t sustain. Eventually the team dies out depending on the content.
But if I put lynx back in there instead of SW, I still deal massive damage more than SW being on the team because of sparkle, but now I also never die.
What about bailu, is bailu can be substituted for lynx?

ik aventurine gives crit dmg boost but its single target and not 100% uptime but FX's cr buff is kinda permanent as long as u manage ur skill points and the fact that cr buff > cdmg buff
edit: the situation still depends on what kind of relics/characters u have rn so it differs for everyone (for me FX is a better choice since my characters are more cr reliant eg seele)
As for my relic's luck, i wouldn't consider that extra CR bc all my DPS have over 90+ CR, some with their buffs and other no.
The 100% uptime is arguable, his ult costs 110 energy and he is a preservation unit, so he has high aggro = more energy recharge. I would say 90% of the times that buff will be active. Still, that substat would depend a lot on relic's luck and that can be different for every account, some suffer with it, some don't.
Most FUA units right now focuses on ST, so it isn't that bad because he is meant to be played with those characters. I would need gameplay and testing to see if that debuff can still apply for AoE units, like attacking 5 but 1 has it so it counts.
Overall CR > CD buff, but that could change with different builds. Some may be CD > CR buff, for example, me who can't reach more than 170 cdmg and others the other way around. But yeah, in general it is CR > CD buff.
@@PanConJamon-wr6pl yeah if u have good relics than the crit buff isnt that necessary but i rarely get relics with good crit substat so 12% can be a lifesaver (and also i dont play FUA so thats another reason)
in some cases it can allow u to switch from cr armor to cd armor thanks to that buff
the value of CR vs CD ultimately comes down to the character and the specific relics you have on YOUR account. if person A has pieces that roll into CR and not CD, they'd be saying the opposite and would probably find more value from Aventurine.

Fu xuan can be "nerfed" by an enemy who ignores damage sharing OR have attacks that deal true damage (so it cannot be reduced). We already see a boss that makes fu xuan though to use - Sam. I am not sure if he used these mechanics but i had a hard time surviving with her as a solo sustain. They can also make enemies that just deal too much aoe dmg for fu xuan to survive hit every turn, but if the damage was spread among the team it wouldnt be such big issue and shields would just negate everything. Since she can only flip once every ult she will just run out if sustain or become too skillpoint negative to use. They can also make enemies that deal reduced dmg when target of their attack have a shield. I can see many ways to make her bad option.
Aventurine is more like preservation mix with sub dps (as for his fua kit) capability while fuxuan is more like preservation mix with harmony (as her skill give crit rate)

Her res increase is not as huge it's about redirection of dmg directly to her and then healing it. Res shred in HSR affect characters with less res the same so it'll do with more so it'll make shields take way more dmg too. Besides they can easily make enemies who penetrate shields or gets buffs when hitting shields (they have enemies like this in genshin already) so it's not like Aventurine and Gepard will work forever on everything either.

I agree with you, i would take FX over Aventurine currently. 24% CV, Max hp buffs, CC resist, LC giving dmg inflicted buffs, mitigation is better than shields for characters who want to take a hit like Clara or Blade who are more prevalent than characters who don't want to take a hit at all like Yanqing. her element allowing you to reduce SW rng in some teams to apply weakness

@@4..x I was comparing it to carries who taking hits reduces their performance, and that is only yanqing, the rest of the DPS in the game do not have that issue. Whereas shields can actively hurt some DPS.

In simple terms as ive told others , they arebt better than eachother and it falls mainly on who you like more. There will be content that favors adventurine , and other content that favors fu xuan. When it comes to survivability adven can somtimes do better due to his nature of being sp positive. But fu xuan is too nuetral to positive sp. It mainly comes down to who you wwnt more and what you need more of. In a utility stand point fu xuan is far better than him with the crit , hp, healing...and crd if you have e1. But if you want tons off sub damage while also having just as good sustain, go with avebturine.
It isnf much of who powercreeps whom...simce one gives more utilty , and the other gives more sub damage. But some point to say is he does favor fua teams which isnt bad at all, and some might try to use that to an argument but thats not much of a matter to descuss

I think both of them has unique skill and advantage than any preservation. Their both top tier tank in game
Aventurine relies on his shields while having 4k defense and low health (even with his shields he doesn't reach Fu Xuan her health). Fu Xuan has very high health, 2k+ defense and massive defense innate buffs + mitigation + heal. Count it all up and Fu Xuan will beat Aventurine in survival.

I think Aventurine's Effect Res buff is massively underrated, especially compared to Fu Xuan's cc resistance :
_ that Effect Res buff is permanent (while FX's cc prevention is a one-time thing)
_ there are a lot of annoying non-cc debuffs : FX can't do anything about those (she's easily hard-countered by the Ascended, for example : not the case for Aventurine)

Being broken and stunned for longer also indirectly is a damage boost. Broken enemies take more damage, so being broken for a while lets you use that more. Also defensive debuffs will last longer.
Both are amazing, run one in both teams and profit. Fu-Xuan feels like she gives your team near invincibility unless you get really unlucky with fu xuan being cc'ed and some valuable crit stats. And aventurine is a great mix of shield refreshes, high personal damage, and effect res. Both are top tier, can't go wrong with either.
To me its aventurine. Fu shuan is the only 5 star i regret having. I already have luocha so my biggest concern was enemies with nuke. So who do i use against enemies with nuke. Fu shuan. And what happenes when fu shuan fights an enemy with nuke. She dies first. Everytime. While leaving the rest of my team in low HP un healed. Also sucks that in golden gears most enemies do nuke damage and the fix that they have for that issue is to buff the barriers that shielders cast on the team. And guess what fushuan doesnt do. Mfcking barrier she is literally useless in the harder content for me. I also dont have LC cause i didnt she was that much of a baby when it comes to investment.
wait didn't adventurine have some sorta special shield that blocks cc 1 time or something? Might be misremembering but i thought he had a way to help block CC
it's just for him if I'm not mistaken but he does give anyone with a shield 50% eff res
he gives 50% effect resistance (which increases your chances of resisting a CC effect) which as an example when I use broken keel on supports and get to that 30% threshold even that is enough to resist most of the time my Bronya has almost 50% effect res and has never gotten CC'd, so while the 50% is not going to always guarantee CC prevention it will definitely be handy a lot of the time imo.
Great video but you lost me at the sentiment against preservation characters having CC mechanics. Preventing enemies from acting or delaying their turns mean they get less opportunities to deal damage to your team. Its exactly what preservation wants to do.

At the end depends on your dps and team comp. I’ve decided to get fu xuan and a healer like huo huo that would be enough for an account imo.

kinda dumb question but if I dont have fu xuan, should I summon for aventurine then? I don't have any 5 star preservation other than baliu and I just cleared the story. my main teams are dot with kafka and planning to use dr ratio. Idk if I should pull for aventurine or archeron more.
If you're struggling to finish moc because you're dying often consider aventurine,but if you like Acheron pull for her
Huohuo is a better choice for DoT
Don't forget that eventually, if you keep playing the game, you will be able to clear content regardless of who you pull. The big question should be "do I want to have him" rather than "do I need him".

I think Aventurine is gonna be better tbh. Huohuo already out performs Fu Xuan in late game teams since she helps your team do more damage. Aventurine effectively helps you do the same. I think it largely matters on his stats upon release

Aventurin will give more stats, apply a debuff, and do damage, on top of the survivability. It's just more things.

@@dm3124abBro mine dies in MOC 11 and 12 fairly regularly. Really depends on luck and how well your Fu Xuan is built. IF you're like me, and her gear is mid, shes gonna be in danger against anything that can hit really hard multiple times.
Skill issue. My fu xuan isn’t even that well built and she sustains moc 12 with no sweat.

My Fu is still a great unit and I usually can get around having her a solo sustain... but she is not immortal.
"that well built" is a relative term...and it also depends on how well your other units are built ... if everything dies before they can attack, yeah, she will live forever... that even applies to Arlan.

I think I’m skipping Ave for FX. I have several reasons: 1) Shields are very in right now, but if I’ve learned anything from Genshin, it’s that shields will fall off in value in the long run. 2) If the enemy focuses down one character, a shield would disappear relatively quickly, so you would have to renew the shield for the entire team just for one character (my eternal Gepard struggle ;-;). FX damage mitigation feels more like the enhanced 3* Destruction blessing in SU that spreads out received damage while also decreasing it. That way, a character cannot be focused down at once. 3) CC block is very OP. Having increased eff RES is always nice, but against enemies that might potentially have very very high EHR, a block is much safer. 4) Free crit rate is always welcome, as from FX field. 5) I use Blade a lot, so having dmg mitigation for me is more useful. Her extra healing doesn’t hurt, either. 6) Aventurine’s follow-up stuff is a little lost on me, as I do not have Topaz nor do I plan on getting her (don’t like her playstyle). I don’t want to get a character then half-ass their potential. 7) More personal, but I really dislike Ave’s animations, while FX’s are gorgeous imo on the other hand. That’s just a matter of taste, though.

I feel like you're downplaying the value of shields. Everything positive you've said about Fu Xuan is true, but I don't think the state of shields in Genshin is indicative of how they will be in HSR (and really they're still useful even in Genshin). There are very few sources of damage which bypass shields in HSR right now; DoTs are still stopped by shields, and even though Sam's SP damage bypasses shields, he also reduces healing by 90%. The Dreamjolt Troupe monke actively encourages you to have a shield to kill it faster.
Also, in Simulated Universe, there are a huge amount of Preservation buffs which make shields stronger and grant your characters benefits for having shields. Unless you also have buffs that grant your team shields consistently, you can't utilize any of those buffs with Fu Xuan alone. None of this is to say you shouldn't run Fu Xuan in SimUni, personally I'd probably run both her AND a shielder (Gepard since I don't plan to get Aventurine), because your team would be completely invincible that way. If you're only running one sustain, yeah Fu Xuan is probably the strongest in the game lol.

If he was fire or thunder, then I would pull for him, but as is, he doesn’t bring enough variation to a low spender account like mine
They could easily counter Fu Xuan's mechanics, just make an enemy that overwrites field effects with their own field or dispells those effects. TBH I don't think they'll do that, but I also don't think that they will make enemies that make shields useless because if they do then many of the defensive options become useless.
HSR is a very vertical investment focused game, you can use up to 7 copies of characters and 5 copies of LCs, getting characters up to speed takes a lot of resources, especially grinding relics. I don't think that they will just take large chunks of player investment and throw it in the trash.
If I want to run Aventurine with Acheron together what relic set is worth investing in? 2 pc def and 2 pc diver? I also have the trend lc at s2 and don't know if it's worth pulling for his sig (I have enough saved for Acheron and her sig and I'm not interested in Robin or Boothill).
Yes. That way you the get the maximum amount of dmg from Aventurine, since Acheron will be there
The current 4 light cones in the game should be good enough, if you want to mid-max his dmg and def then his sig is def worth
From what I've seen in videos, who is better depends on the team. Aventurine really needs teammates who can follow-up attack. So I guess if follow-up is your playstyle, he'd be a batter choice over Fuxuan
The most important part of FX's kit is the 12% crit rate.
For Aventurine, it's the crit dmg debuff and his higher personal damage.
Honestly I think they're pretty even with Aventurine edging it out for some chars like Acheron and for follow up comps. The 12% crit rate's average dmg increase should be similar to the average dmg increase Aventurine brings a lot of the time.
It's important to be Skill positive too.

Fu Xuans biggest draws are that her protection and damage mitigation is tied to her own turns no one else, on top of that she has means to heal herself and at least chipdamage to the team. Her LC bringing next level comfort to MoC because your whole team is getting back a lot of what they lost in hp. The whole discussion is not one that fits them. Aventurine is a more reliable FUA centric Gepard. Sure they both shield the team but I don't see a shielder power creeping Fu Xuan. I terms of offensive assist yes he is definitely the way to go, especially if you plan on going FUA teams. That's where he shines the brightest. Fu Xuan you can put on any team and while she lacks buffs to enhance offense for the most, she is just a brick wall offering so much damage reduction that you don't need to worry about it much past firing her ult at the right time.
I have DH IL , jing yuan, kafka , Dr ratio and will also get acheron so between aventurine , Fuxuan , huohuo and luocha which one would you suggest for me to get ?? ( I have fully built gepard , bailu and lynx for sustain )
If they make an enemy that directly takes away HP then that would work against both Fu Xuan and Aventurine, currently Sam does that already, so just imagine that but in the form of an attack. They have similar Weaknesses in my opinion.
