If they enemy is very lucky they might kill you after a year or so of trying.... unless you run Fu Xuan, Aventurine and a healer like Huo Huo 😈 damage no longer exists

@@Chi_ffre no, he dont need skill point. E1 does it. And it is the same +50% value as aventurine. E2 is dispel and +30%. So gallager gives more effect res than aventurine (up to 80%) and can dispel.
Aventurine: Can tank massive AOE damage but suffer with massive ST damage from enemy. Fuxuan: Can tank massive ST damage but suffer with massive AOE damage from enemy. Both have their usage, be like me and pull both of them. I have enough nightmare seeing fuxuan get killed in SU Conundrum. Those monster at torturous level make MOC 12 felt like a child play.
@@isaac7272 I have and yea the other guy is right when he takes ST damage it aint that bad considering he can just put a massive ammount of shield back onto himself and stack it with his old shield that he made for his teammates and himself. he doesnt take it as good as Fu xuan but he def doesnt suffer from it
@@projectmega9532 he does in case of aoe the follow up stacks increse quickly so does his shield gets a re stack but st damage does not increase his foa stack that well in some scenerio ally dies before you could manually restack your sheild when you use him you have confidence that his shield will get re stacked so you don't use sp all the time which some time becomes his allies downfall
@@bandi642True, however Fu Xuan makes it to where at least one debuff doesn't get applied once per skill, on all Allies. However Aventurine just breaks the Meta. Fu Xuan has a major weakness. If your team gets hit with a strong AOE she basically dies. Edit: Also Aventurine works with literally everybody. Unlike Fu Xuan, Aventurine has debuffs for debuffs focused teams, he has follow up attacks for follow up attacks oriented teams, and he applies a shield which allows him to utilize the most underrated path in SU preservation. Before I forget he also works with Yanqing since Yanqing will never lose HP.

My question is less "who is best?" and more "will they do?". So if a unit I have can do the job, I'm all good. Not the best doesn't equate to garbage. Also frees you up to go with the characters you prefer 👍🏻
I think something that should also be on the table for discussion is simulated universe (in this case especially). As it gets updated over time we will probably see new gamemodes/lore expansions for it (like Swarm Disaster and Gold & Gears), that will most likely increase in difficulty. Something that I heard of a lot with regards to Fu Xuan (I say "heard of" because I started the game after her banner and therefore don't posess her), is that she struggles immensly with Gold and Gears, because of big AOE nuke attacks from the plane bosses. Because she redirects all the damage to herself she will in those (inevitable) scenarios be guaranteed to die. Aventurine on the other hand provides shields, which protect not only his allies but also himself. On top of that you get to make use of all the preservation blessings as well, and if you fully commit to them, you can even make him be the main damage source if you're feeling funny. Speaking from personal experience, Gepard is an absolute monster in SU with the correct blessings, and Aventurine is pretty much Gepard+++ ultra max pro. Taking this into consideration and the fact that, as you already stated, both are perfectly fine for either MOC and pure fiction, having this extra use case, where you can just comfortably play an entire additional gamemode, that will be expanded upon in the future, I personally would put my money on Gamba man. Excellent addition. Aventurine is going to be so insane for G+G, and its a fair guess to say he will dominate (yes I chose my words carefully 😳) the future modes they talked about in the Livestream. I so can't wait to see how cracked his teams are , especially preservation path - since I almost never used that 😂
@@GachaMogul highly recommend preservation path. If you get the setup right (mainly anything that is related to quake damage and anything that makes your shields bigger) you just watch your enemies killing themselves. Very high entertainment value 👌
Gold and gears is irrelevant because there are several cheese methods. I am WAY below being able to finish gold and gears and yet managed to beat the final boss in the tier 5 difficulty for gold and gears in 30 seconds, with the boss not being able to move a single time in all 3 phases using the Capitalist method.

I'm way underleveled for G&G and using the capitalist method I still beat the final phase for tier 5 in 35 seconds. I mean unless we're talking about someone wanting to do G&G without cheesing for some reason.
@@Shadow72eapers That is a valid point. However, there is not really a guarantee for that to still be a thing in future SU game modes. Plus preservation path quake dmg is also something easily achieved through capitalism and grants you immortality and absurd amounts of damage through your immortality, which is something that Aventurine (and Gepard for that matter) enable. It is a safe strategy that works for multiple if not all SU gamemodes and should in theory have at least some longevity to it, as it doesn't hinge on needing the transaction cheese. And sadly, Fu Xuan cannot enable that. So while it's true that for Gold and Gears specifically you can circumvent this through transaction cheese, double Ruan Mei or an unholy amount of gambling, the precedent that was laid out by it for Fu Xuan makes me hesitent to pull for her. This may also just be a me thing though, because I spend most of my time in SU, which is why I would want to pull for units where I am absolutely certain that they will have a use case there. Also just as a character I don't like her that much but that's a different topic of discussion. Also a question if you happen to know: does Fu Xuan's protection also redirect DoT to herself? It's one of those weird things where DoTs may or may not just ignore certain protections (like on trotters that have a preservation barrier), but I do know for a fact that if a character is shielded, the DoT has to eat through the shield first.
i feel like him having follow up attacks is going to be really good in a lot of content both moc and pf,where we get sometimes things related to hit more or follow up attack to get this and that owo
I've been playing with Fu Xuan since her release, but there's just too much leverage on her HP for survivability. Her HP tanks with any team-wide damage, and if she dies, the entire team dies shortly after (on harder content like Gold and Gears Conundrum mode). I'm looking forward to how the shields play out.
Moc is not everything in this game. Fx is good in Moc because it force you to finish in under 10 cycle, meanwhile G&g and Swarm has a lot of hard hitting enemies, not to mention aventurine give shields and not mitigate a damage, which means he would be cracked with the preservation buff
@@arumi9410 Only for those modes we have cheesing strategies which work with even Fire Trailblazer. And if you have Gepard, which is a standard unit, it becomes downright easy.
That, and the fact that allies still take damage a bit too often despite how limited it is and her healing isn’t good enough. In long battles, that becomes a problem as you cannot build good defence and hp for every character if you want them to be the best at what they specialize at. With high enough defence, Aventurine’s shield is essentially infinite as a new shield is added every time Aventurine does a follow up attack which happens often, and if you get E1 where ultimates create shields, it’s even more infinite although ultimates do speed up the follow up attack process so it’s not the most necessary thing. That said, if the enemies break through the shields before it gets regened, that damage cannot be healed by Aventurine although in simulated universe there are blessings that facilitate health regen so it’s fine luckily.
I Like aventurine but it doesn't fit me well on my main acc. with high speed character his shield just gone especially jl or anything that requires action forward.
I'm looking forward pull for Fu Xuan when she comes back but I love Aventurine and hope that everybody pulling for him win their 50/50! He's an amazing character in both gameplay and lore

I not have any problems with her in su stuff, she works well and with archon i anywhere delete all opponents before they can do something and with fu xuan and sparkle we have a lot of free critvalue

I have E1S1 FX since her release. After that, I got E0S1 HuoHuo. They are the best sustainers in the game for now (before Aventurine release, maybe). Crit buffs from FX and especially from her E1 (top 1-2 first eidolon on sustainers) really hits different for me because it's really massive buff for all team members and also for FX. Her HP scaling, crit rate in traces and buff from matryx made from her real sub-dd (12k from basic attack and dome damage from ultimate, I really don't remember how much is that). Full def-builded Aventurine on videos from beta-server made the same damage with FUA on whole board. With Crit Damage body and/or IMG damage sphere his sustainability not so good. And I don't think that full crowd-controll res from FX can compare to 50% ER. It's just much better
both are great characters and there is no need to think about between those two which one is the greatest and which one to pull. If u like it, pull for it.
"Although they can be equally good" I think this only applies to things outside of End game worlds (not talking about MOC) .I think we're all aware that Hoyo is focused on providing lots of High end game contents to satisfy their players. One big difference is that Fu Xuan doesn't have shields that can benefit from SU buff at all. If you managed to get hit by a Strong Single/AoE attack its gonna take awhile for Fu Xuan to even heal that much lost. Although she's not powercrept, but we can sense it. (like almost all 1.x characters are)
It will take a bit longer for her to be power crept , especially since we have less comparable units. It is true that SU definitely favors AV though, since she can't use preservation path 😔
Fu Xuan will be on my 1st team And Aventurine will be on 2nd team I do have Gepard but he is kinda boring At least Aventurine can be put on follow up attack team for my Topaz Some of Gepard relic and His signature lightcone will be transfered to Aventurine

I don't have any limited sustain, That being said, I'll probably wait for fu xuan since i'd like to finish Mono Quantum with gambling gremlin. Aventurine looks to be pretty good . But i already have gepard for a shielder and id rarher aave for acherons next debuffing support. Fu xuan can cover my inbibitor team, and for the meanwhile. I'll continue using gepard/gallagher for acheron.

I've noticed there hasn't really been any videos comparing Aventurine to Gepard. They seem to me like the most obvious direct comparisons since Av and FX work in fairly different ways.
Aventurine gives better shield value then Gepard with his Skill meanwhile Gepard Needs his ultimate to rely on shields........and also he's a standard banner character anyway ofcourse he will powercrept.......just like Bronya when Sparkle arrives.......

Also, I was thinking about who to get for my acheron-silverwolf-blackswan combo, and i think both fuxuan and aventurine could work tbh. If i go aventurine, I might have to replace BS with pela or an SP positive unit. BUT the main point that I love about aventurine with acheron is the 18% crit dmg increase buff. Thats amazing, especially since my acheron has enough crit rate already. But on the other hand, FX is a quantum unit that pairs well with SW. Also, her E1 increases crit dmg by 30%. ARGGG this is a hard decision. Anyway, great vid!! lol

I'm skipping mainly because Gepard is absolutely fine in my account and I'm in a more need of supports than sustains. If I really need a new preservation, it'll be Fu Xuan since she's a better fit for DPS like Seele. Also, I'm pretty sure MiHoYo will eventually create a boss whose mechanics deals piercing dmg/ignores shield making Geppie and Aventurine less viable/useless for future bosses like this. So I'll wait for the next preservation unit whose better at defending that scenario
Totally fair! That could definitely be something mihoyo could pull. Supports really do kinda run the game right now tbf, (ruan Mei is insane, probably #1)
@@GachaMogul I'm also hoping HSR will add relics that gives healers a chance to stay relevant. Something like "Gains buffs based on X% of healing" or "Gains a shield based on X% of healing". (Luocha would be insane for this since no character currently outheals him) Adding something like this would really help characters whose mechanics are predominantly healing be more useful and prevents powercreep. To balance it out, the buffs just won't be as strong as someone like HuoHuo As for supports, I'm also think we may get bosses/mobs that have a built-in buff removal mechanic just to balance out the reliance on supports (this is probably where shield/preservation units become more useful)
Both are overall better than abundance units. However, I’d say probably Aventrine. Both are SS+. However, Aventurine brings DMG. Which leads to enemies dying faster.
Huohuo would be the contender here, as she does a lot of extra "harmony" things. But yeah AV and FX are definitely both SS! I can't wait to play with him... And his damage 🙂
It's great to have Aventurine around. I can literally leave Fu Xuan and Aventurine in auto mode without dying in gold and gears. I say, these two are the most broken unit when together. My build is solely dps too. Honestly using the two together should be illegal.
ima say this right here right now. no aventurine is not fua only when it comes to his team comps vs fu xuan.. the ONLY team that he ISN'T better then fu xuan in is blade and jingliu comps. not to say fu xuan is bad im just saying that so SO many people downplay his universalness to a NEAUSIATING degree. he has tecnically the bEST sustaining power for the sole reason of defense ignoring enemies and the non zero chance your fu xuan could get oneshot in Simulated universe
FX isnt a future proof lmao she has no unique playstyle like aventurine in her kit in fact she is gonna get powercrept faster than him or any pres character she is barely surviving at high level game modes difficulty maybe only MoC where she can live but so is aventurine , devs started to counter her already with these penacony enemies
Nah, to get powercrept would be similar to gepard v aventurine. Gepard is still usable, but AV offers a ton more. Also, we probably won't have anything to happen that way for preservation for a long while

The ER applies to every team member with a shield(including aventurine) and also one point that wasn't even mentioned is skill points fu xuan is skill point positive but ideally needs to use her skill every 2 turns or more often if she desperately needs energy to save her life with an ult meanwhile aventurine can do entire fights without using a single skill and you only really need to when the shields get low so if you build him fast he's an sp factory
Well I think your relics on aventurine purely depend on your light cone. The more def it gives the less you need on your relics. But like just def and spd boots is good enough. I think he is easier to build them du xuan that does dmg because all his def scales a lot in his damage. Also idk if fu is easier to play or more universal. In let’s say a kafka team the buffs they give don’t matter (as crit) and I think aventurine just performs better. Idk.
Depends yeah. Like AV can give 1-2 debuffs in a nihility team, for moreso Acheron. Only Acheron cares about the crit vs Black swan and kafka. Both are good in certain situations

Fu xuan is mid there simply because she cant tank massive AOE damage, but outside that she is great. Golden gears conundrum is the real endgame content, MOC FC is just for casual players.

Unpopular opinion: I think Fu Xuan is better, since her failbility, for a lack of better word is lower. There is no way to remove the matrix and I can't imagine a mechanic that will do that. Now imagine we get a future boss who has a mechanic to deal extra damage to shields? Or in the current state of the game, suppose you fight Cocolia and she does her special aoe which depletes your Aventurine shield, then she freezes your Aventurine, then her Bronya advances her and she does her AOE again, while your shield is down and aventurine frozen? What follows is that you lose. That will never happen to Fu Xuan, since she will block the freeze and even if she gets frozen, there is no shield to deplete, as long as she is alive and kickin your party is immortal. I am sure Aventurine is broken, but objectively speaking you will have a hard time proving he is better than Fu Xuan. Now in terms of offence you can argue that he is better, especially if you have Topaz & Ratio. At the end of the day, both units will get the job done, so pull the better looking one - Fu Xuan 😅😅
He's a side grade. Both are superior to the other in certain comps but one isn't more comfortable than the other. Your team ain't dying with either on the team.
Both are equally good in their own rights with their downs and ups regardless of E0-E6 Fu Xuan provides 3 Turns Crit Rate, Damage Cut and Max HP for 3 Turns 1 time AoE-ST Crowd Control immune to any allies everytime she used her Skills, heals for both herself and her Team with Ult, synergize well with Teams that can take multiple turns in 1 cycle due to the buff expiring when her turn's passed and faster Ult recharge from her Skill giving her at least 1/3 of her Max Energy not counting ERR Ropes Downside is that she can prone to getting one shot in either Swarm Disaster or Gold and Gears. As for MoC, not that often, her Ult Breaking is gimped, she's locked from using Preservation's Blessing and she doesn't have a dedicated 4Piece Relic (assuming you want to assume this as one) Aventurine can contribute more as a Sub DPS and breaker due to his Def Conversion to Crit Rate and multi hit Follow Up that can be easy to proc, easier build for Support that went Broken Keel and what might as well be a Permanent Uptime Thick Shield from continuous stacking, especially with FuA teams Downside for him is like every other Shielder, fast attackers will expires his Shield's faster since the duration is with them and not him, potentially making him from SP Positive to SP Neutral-Negative, his Crit Damage amo is a Debuff meaning a high enough Effect Res Enemies can shrug it off and you still need to built Effect Res in ally to be safe from CC Tldr, go for Aventurine if y̤o̤ṳr̤ account has Slow-Mediocre Speed DPS or Follow Up, Fu Xuan if your DPS are fast enough to do 3 actions in 1 cycle.
Short answer - if you have fu xuan already you dont really need aventurine, unless you want him for FUA teams or acheron debuff stack, if you dont have fuxuan, go for aventurine
You simping over Aventurine made me remember how I realized I'm bi not long after I started playing Genshin lmao. Since then i'm simping for both male and female chars in both of these games.
I play fu xuan with luocha in SU All my team gets constent heal and buffs and she can tank AOE attacks because she is always full hp (if don’t then skill issue) Also, her skill last 3 turns when avanturine always has to use 1 skillpoint
Having the only two DPS characters that are health draining/want to be targeted (jingliu and blade) I have to stay strong and skip aventurine for huohuo 😭
Major problems with both of them is the lack of cleanse. With a lot of debuffs and DOT effects , it can get harder to protect your units in both cases , although most fights don’t last that long right now. Another problem I see is the lack of healing in aventurine kit which makes sense but if someone runs out of shield or gets hit more , this can create issues. Fu xuan also can have difficulty sustaining and healing the team in a long difficult fight. Although she makes it through MoC but I see some of the things she really weak with , lot is debuffs and that japa witch that use wind shear and reduces max hp absolutely ruins Fu Xuan. Units like that are a major problem for FU , Aventurine is also a pain when he does a lot of cc and reduces energy. That energy really hurts fu. Aventurine is a little better in this MoC because of that but he is kind of bad with a lot of debuffs too. That witch will be a pain with both. Lack of cleanse is the main problem of preservation units. This is also one of the reasons why March is still such a good unit. She can shield , heal and cleanse although only one unit .
I have both of them now. In my opinion fu xuan is better cuz she a little bit easier to build, she give crit rate, CC res and for me her matrix is activ or not is more simple like i have enough shield on me from aventurine. BUT, i hate the fact that fu xuan skill dosen't have a cap. So in some scenarios if her skill is active and she does not have stack for the HP reset she will continue to take their damage for herself and dies from it even if the other teammates had enough HP to survive. and if thats happens the others will die one by one. Oh, yeah and if she had more than 50% of her HP and the enemy make a big AoE attack she will just take all the damage and dies even if she had stacks on her. Aventurine's shield is really tanky. But he just give me a shield and if thats runs out my characters not get any back up like from fu xuan. But thats in just really hard scenarios like in the Swarm disaster V, Gold and Gears and in that fucking Bug weekly boss what i forgot to farm him cuz i really hate that one. Some times it just targeted my sparkle and almost killed her cuz her shield ran off (when i had in that team clara too, but the enemies always target my harmony characters. not they have the highest aggro, isn't it?) Aventurine is an easy build character and i always get Def relics so finally someone can use them. I think both of them is really awesome, just i think fu xuan is a little bit better. But if u need to choose any of them it not will be a bad choice.
i wanna ask something, I'm new to this game...i just reached 40 trailblazer level, and when it comes to sustain i have only one limited sustain which is aventurine and so far he is carrying my whole team and very easy to play I'm using dr ratio and clara with him. But i don't have any other limited dps beside Dr ratio, so i was Saving jades but now I'm bit confused.... should i pull for Fu Xuan in this upcoming banner or keep saving for dpc like acherona and jingliu etc.
Definitely save for dps! Having aventurine already is going to be great for your teams. Jingliu is amazing, Sam will be fantastic when he releases. So yeah I would say focus dps for now since you have aventurine! Don't fret too much either, at level 40 you have plenty of time to round out those teams 💪
Imo, it depends if Aventurine is auto-friendly in the non-forward atk teams. His AI in the story trial was trashy. He used his normal atk instead of his skill shield on auto sometimes.. even when my party only had 10% shield left lol.. He can't even heal back the party after the HP loss from not shielding. I never had problem with FuXuan.
First time i cleared difficulty 5 in swarm disaster , aventurine shield is really helpful, my team hp didn't drain a bit, stackable shield with high effect res and fua really carried my team
i even build Fx, she would still amazing for a long time. But damn these people are coping that Aventirine will not be as good as Fx when in fact he provides the same, even to some extent "better"😂😂
I bet you will be saying that after a few months after building Aventurine. For a company like Hoyoverse, the next set of 5 stars will always trump the older ones. That is how you make money. Why release the newest 5 star as inferior compared to the old ones?
Huohuo is best sustainer ATM for sure (we will see when AV comes out). AV is best for nihility especially with trend of the universal market. Thats a good plan tho!

Not really a fan of Damage Mitigation. Good thing Aventurine feels so much better and comfy to use. His shield is just too thick and can be refreshed quickly. He is also super SP positive. Also since his shield has 100% up most of the time that would also mean a permanent 50% EFF RES on the whole team. I did a high conundrum level on G&G and it's so satisfying to see the word "Effect RES" on everyone resisting Nihility's debuff. Even my Acheron resisted those debuffs with just a 54% EFF RES. I'd take the permanent 50% EFF RES than the one time CC resist per activation. At least with the 50% EFF RES bonus, it doesn't include yet the EFF RES stats you get from your relic substats and Broken Keel. Also with high EFF RES everyone gets a chance to resist ANY kinds of debuff not only specified to CC like DoTs, stat reduction debuffs such as atl reduction, slow, def reduction and oh that Prana debuff from that one enemy that cuts everyone's Max HP. This is the reason why I find Aventurine's EFF RES buff more helpful than FX's one time CC resistance. Why resist only one when you can resist all?

I'm tired of people overvaluing Aventurine, the only times he's actually better to have then Fu Xuan is if you are going for FuA teams, or if you want more debuffs for acheron. Another thing worth mentioning is that with Aventurine you will have to build ER for every character you want to play alongside him if you don't want to rely on RNG to resist CCs because not only do you only get 50% , the enemies also have effect hit rate.
It's also funny that there are people saying that "Fu Xuan will die if you get hit with AOE", it goes to show that they don't have Fu Xuan because if they did they would know as long as you have a decently built Fu Xuan that's almost impossible and only worth worrying about if they add future enemies that have way way stronger AOE attacks then they do now.
I don't think it's over-valuing. He's going to be a great unit, just like FX is. Will he be as universal , nah. But he will still be plenty good for most teams, and amazing in the teams he excels in

I don't think people are overvaluing Aventurine! he can do something different that other preservation characters can't or better like Debuff, Effect RES, Fua and Damage. He might only be better in some teams that need Debuff or Fua but that would also be where most of his value would be! It would be the same to say that people was overvaluing Luocha on his release... Back then people had problems with the heals and when he released he could hold the whole team alive without using skill points. You could say Fu Xuan is better in any way now and he is not that op anymore but that still doesn't change the stage the game was in when he released!

It's not the same thing to say people were overvaluing Luocha, because you would be using hindsight and comparing a much better future unit that we didn't have at the time to a past character release, whereas in this case I'm saying people are overvaluing a future character over the characters we already have in the game, not to say he's bad just that some people are seemingly taking the hype train way too far.

The ER buff for allies applies to EVERYONE that has the shield. So for example if your entire team has the shield they will all get the buff

Aventurine: Can tank massive AOE damage but suffer with massive ST damage from enemy.
Fuxuan: Can tank massive ST damage but suffer with massive AOE damage from enemy.
Both have their usage, be like me and pull both of them.
I have enough nightmare seeing fuxuan get killed in SU Conundrum. Those monster at torturous level make MOC 12 felt like a child play.

@@bandi642True, however Fu Xuan makes it to where at least one debuff doesn't get applied once per skill, on all Allies. However Aventurine just breaks the Meta. Fu Xuan has a major weakness. If your team gets hit with a strong AOE she basically dies.
Edit: Also Aventurine works with literally everybody. Unlike Fu Xuan, Aventurine has debuffs for debuffs focused teams, he has follow up attacks for follow up attacks oriented teams, and he applies a shield which allows him to utilize the most underrated path in SU preservation. Before I forget he also works with Yanqing since Yanqing will never lose HP.

I think something that should also be on the table for discussion is simulated universe (in this case especially). As it gets updated over time we will probably see new gamemodes/lore expansions for it (like Swarm Disaster and Gold & Gears), that will most likely increase in difficulty. Something that I heard of a lot with regards to Fu Xuan (I say "heard of" because I started the game after her banner and therefore don't posess her), is that she struggles immensly with Gold and Gears, because of big AOE nuke attacks from the plane bosses. Because she redirects all the damage to herself she will in those (inevitable) scenarios be guaranteed to die.
Aventurine on the other hand provides shields, which protect not only his allies but also himself. On top of that you get to make use of all the preservation blessings as well, and if you fully commit to them, you can even make him be the main damage source if you're feeling funny. Speaking from personal experience, Gepard is an absolute monster in SU with the correct blessings, and Aventurine is pretty much Gepard+++ ultra max pro.
Taking this into consideration and the fact that, as you already stated, both are perfectly fine for either MOC and pure fiction, having this extra use case, where you can just comfortably play an entire additional gamemode, that will be expanded upon in the future, I personally would put my money on Gamba man.

@@GachaMogul highly recommend preservation path. If you get the setup right (mainly anything that is related to quake damage and anything that makes your shields bigger) you just watch your enemies killing themselves.

Gold and gears is irrelevant because there are several cheese methods. I am WAY below being able to finish gold and gears and yet managed to beat the final boss in the tier 5 difficulty for gold and gears in 30 seconds, with the boss not being able to move a single time in all 3 phases using the Capitalist method.

I'm way underleveled for G&G and using the capitalist method I still beat the final phase for tier 5 in 35 seconds. I mean unless we're talking about someone wanting to do G&G without cheesing for some reason.
@@Shadow72eapers That is a valid point. However, there is not really a guarantee for that to still be a thing in future SU game modes. Plus preservation path quake dmg is also something easily achieved through capitalism and grants you immortality and absurd amounts of damage through your immortality, which is something that Aventurine (and Gepard for that matter) enable. It is a safe strategy that works for multiple if not all SU gamemodes and should in theory have at least some longevity to it, as it doesn't hinge on needing the transaction cheese.
And sadly, Fu Xuan cannot enable that.
So while it's true that for Gold and Gears specifically you can circumvent this through transaction cheese, double Ruan Mei or an unholy amount of gambling, the precedent that was laid out by it for Fu Xuan makes me hesitent to pull for her. This may also just be a me thing though, because I spend most of my time in SU, which is why I would want to pull for units where I am absolutely certain that they will have a use case there.
Also just as a character I don't like her that much but that's a different topic of discussion.
Also a question if you happen to know: does Fu Xuan's protection also redirect DoT to herself? It's one of those weird things where DoTs may or may not just ignore certain protections (like on trotters that have a preservation barrier), but I do know for a fact that if a character is shielded, the DoT has to eat through the shield first.

I've been playing with Fu Xuan since her release, but there's just too much leverage on her HP for survivability. Her HP tanks with any team-wide damage, and if she dies, the entire team dies shortly after (on harder content like Gold and Gears Conundrum mode). I'm looking forward to how the shields play out.

Moc is not everything in this game. Fx is good in Moc because it force you to finish in under 10 cycle, meanwhile G&g and Swarm has a lot of hard hitting enemies, not to mention aventurine give shields and not mitigate a damage, which means he would be cracked with the preservation buff
@@arumi9410 Only for those modes we have cheesing strategies which work with even Fire Trailblazer. And if you have Gepard, which is a standard unit, it becomes downright easy.
That, and the fact that allies still take damage a bit too often despite how limited it is and her healing isn’t good enough. In long battles, that becomes a problem as you cannot build good defence and hp for every character if you want them to be the best at what they specialize at. With high enough defence, Aventurine’s shield is essentially infinite as a new shield is added every time Aventurine does a follow up attack which happens often, and if you get E1 where ultimates create shields, it’s even more infinite although ultimates do speed up the follow up attack process so it’s not the most necessary thing. That said, if the enemies break through the shields before it gets regened, that damage cannot be healed by Aventurine although in simulated universe there are blessings that facilitate health regen so it’s fine luckily.
I Like aventurine but it doesn't fit me well on my main acc. with high speed character his shield just gone especially jl or anything that requires action forward.
I'm looking forward pull for Fu Xuan when she comes back but I love Aventurine and hope that everybody pulling for him win their 50/50! He's an amazing character in both gameplay and lore

I have E1S1 FX since her release. After that, I got E0S1 HuoHuo. They are the best sustainers in the game for now (before Aventurine release, maybe). Crit buffs from FX and especially from her E1 (top 1-2 first eidolon on sustainers) really hits different for me because it's really massive buff for all team members and also for FX. Her HP scaling, crit rate in traces and buff from matryx made from her real sub-dd (12k from basic attack and dome damage from ultimate, I really don't remember how much is that). Full def-builded Aventurine on videos from beta-server made the same damage with FUA on whole board. With Crit Damage body and/or IMG damage sphere his sustainability not so good. And I don't think that full crowd-controll res from FX can compare to 50% ER. It's just much better

"Although they can be equally good" I think this only applies to things outside of End game worlds (not talking about MOC) .I think we're all aware that Hoyo is focused on providing lots of High end game contents to satisfy their players. One big difference is that Fu Xuan doesn't have shields that can benefit from SU buff at all. If you managed to get hit by a Strong Single/AoE attack its gonna take awhile for Fu Xuan to even heal that much lost. Although she's not powercrept, but we can sense it. (like almost all 1.x characters are)
It will take a bit longer for her to be power crept , especially since we have less comparable units. It is true that SU definitely favors AV though, since she can't use preservation path 😔

I've noticed there hasn't really been any videos comparing Aventurine to Gepard. They seem to me like the most obvious direct comparisons since Av and FX work in fairly different ways.

Aventurine gives better shield value then Gepard with his Skill meanwhile Gepard Needs his ultimate to rely on shields........and also he's a standard banner character anyway ofcourse he will powercrept.......just like Bronya when Sparkle arrives.......

Also, I was thinking about who to get for my acheron-silverwolf-blackswan combo, and i think both fuxuan and aventurine could work tbh. If i go aventurine, I might have to replace BS with pela or an SP positive unit. BUT the main point that I love about aventurine with acheron is the 18% crit dmg increase buff. Thats amazing, especially since my acheron has enough crit rate already. But on the other hand, FX is a quantum unit that pairs well with SW. Also, her E1 increases crit dmg by 30%. ARGGG this is a hard decision.

I'm skipping mainly because Gepard is absolutely fine in my account and I'm in a more need of supports than sustains. If I really need a new preservation, it'll be Fu Xuan since she's a better fit for DPS like Seele.
Also, I'm pretty sure MiHoYo will eventually create a boss whose mechanics deals piercing dmg/ignores shield making Geppie and Aventurine less viable/useless for future bosses like this. So I'll wait for the next preservation unit whose better at defending that scenario
Totally fair! That could definitely be something mihoyo could pull. Supports really do kinda run the game right now tbf, (ruan Mei is insane, probably #1)
@@GachaMogul I'm also hoping HSR will add relics that gives healers a chance to stay relevant. Something like "Gains buffs based on X% of healing" or "Gains a shield based on X% of healing". (Luocha would be insane for this since no character currently outheals him)
Adding something like this would really help characters whose mechanics are predominantly healing be more useful and prevents powercreep. To balance it out, the buffs just won't be as strong as someone like HuoHuo
As for supports, I'm also think we may get bosses/mobs that have a built-in buff removal mechanic just to balance out the reliance on supports (this is probably where shield/preservation units become more useful)
Both are overall better than abundance units. However, I’d say probably Aventrine. Both are SS+. However, Aventurine brings DMG. Which leads to enemies dying faster.
Huohuo would be the contender here, as she does a lot of extra "harmony" things. But yeah AV and FX are definitely both SS! I can't wait to play with him... And his damage 🙂
Fu Xuan's crit rate buff to the dps is probably more impactful to overall team damage than Aventurine's damage.

Nah, to get powercrept would be similar to gepard v aventurine. Gepard is still usable, but AV offers a ton more. Also, we probably won't have anything to happen that way for preservation for a long while

FX is already getting demolished by penacony enemies and she is doing nothing at G&G and SU and she is less sp efficient than aven he literally use 0 sp on top of that her cc immunity can black ccs only not debuffs and its only once per skill we only had 1 or two preservation characters in the past patches which also increased the value of FX as she was only the limited preservation the other one is gepard and he is no where good at sustaining ur team that well as them

The ER applies to every team member with a shield(including aventurine) and also one point that wasn't even mentioned is skill points fu xuan is skill point positive but ideally needs to use her skill every 2 turns or more often if she desperately needs energy to save her life with an ult meanwhile aventurine can do entire fights without using a single skill and you only really need to when the shields get low so if you build him fast he's an sp factory

Well I think your relics on aventurine purely depend on your light cone. The more def it gives the less you need on your relics. But like just def and spd boots is good enough. I think he is easier to build them du xuan that does dmg because all his def scales a lot in his damage. Also idk if fu is easier to play or more universal. In let’s say a kafka team the buffs they give don’t matter (as crit) and I think aventurine just performs better. Idk.
Depends yeah. Like AV can give 1-2 debuffs in a nihility team, for moreso Acheron. Only Acheron cares about the crit vs Black swan and kafka. Both are good in certain situations

Fu xuan is mid there simply because she cant tank massive AOE damage, but outside that she is great. Golden gears conundrum is the real endgame content, MOC FC is just for casual players.

Unpopular opinion: I think Fu Xuan is better, since her failbility, for a lack of better word is lower. There is no way to remove the matrix and I can't imagine a mechanic that will do that. Now imagine we get a future boss who has a mechanic to deal extra damage to shields? Or in the current state of the game, suppose you fight Cocolia and she does her special aoe which depletes your Aventurine shield, then she freezes your Aventurine, then her Bronya advances her and she does her AOE again, while your shield is down and aventurine frozen? What follows is that you lose. That will never happen to Fu Xuan, since she will block the freeze and even if she gets frozen, there is no shield to deplete, as long as she is alive and kickin your party is immortal. I am sure Aventurine is broken, but objectively speaking you will have a hard time proving he is better than Fu Xuan. Now in terms of offence you can argue that he is better, especially if you have Topaz & Ratio. At the end of the day, both units will get the job done, so pull the better looking one - Fu Xuan 😅😅

He's a side grade. Both are superior to the other in certain comps but one isn't more comfortable than the other. Your team ain't dying with either on the team.

Fu Xuan provides 3 Turns Crit Rate, Damage Cut and Max HP for 3 Turns 1 time AoE-ST Crowd Control immune to any allies everytime she used her Skills, heals for both herself and her Team with Ult, synergize well with Teams that can take multiple turns in 1 cycle due to the buff expiring when her turn's passed and faster Ult recharge from her Skill giving her at least 1/3 of her Max Energy not counting ERR Ropes
Downside is that she can prone to getting one shot in either Swarm Disaster or Gold and Gears. As for MoC, not that often, her Ult Breaking is gimped, she's locked from using Preservation's Blessing and she doesn't have a dedicated 4Piece Relic (assuming you want to assume this as one)
Aventurine can contribute more as a Sub DPS and breaker due to his Def Conversion to Crit Rate and multi hit Follow Up that can be easy to proc, easier build for Support that went Broken Keel and what might as well be a Permanent Uptime Thick Shield from continuous stacking, especially with FuA teams
Downside for him is like every other Shielder, fast attackers will expires his Shield's faster since the duration is with them and not him, potentially making him from SP Positive to SP Neutral-Negative, his Crit Damage amo is a Debuff meaning a high enough Effect Res Enemies can shrug it off and you still need to built Effect Res in ally to be safe from CC
Tldr, go for Aventurine if y̤o̤ṳr̤ account has Slow-Mediocre Speed DPS or Follow Up, Fu Xuan if your DPS are fast enough to do 3 actions in 1 cycle.

I play fu xuan with luocha in SU
All my team gets constent heal and buffs and she can tank AOE attacks because she is always full hp (if don’t then skill issue) Also, her skill last 3 turns when avanturine always has to use 1 skillpoint
True. Speed is more required for sp neutral on him slightly. His shields are very tanky though. Both are solid though! (I use luocha on my F2P!)

Having the only two DPS characters that are health draining/want to be targeted (jingliu and blade) I have to stay strong and skip aventurine for huohuo 😭

Major problems with both of them is the lack of cleanse. With a lot of debuffs and DOT effects , it can get harder to protect your units in both cases , although most fights don’t last that long right now. Another problem I see is the lack of healing in aventurine kit which makes sense but if someone runs out of shield or gets hit more , this can create issues. Fu xuan also can have difficulty sustaining and healing the team in a long difficult fight. Although she makes it through MoC but I see some of the things she really weak with , lot is debuffs and that japa witch that use wind shear and reduces max hp absolutely ruins Fu Xuan. Units like that are a major problem for FU , Aventurine is also a pain when he does a lot of cc and reduces energy. That energy really hurts fu. Aventurine is a little better in this MoC because of that but he is kind of bad with a lot of debuffs too. That witch will be a pain with both. Lack of cleanse is the main problem of preservation units. This is also one of the reasons why March is still such a good unit. She can shield , heal and cleanse although only one unit .
They definitely still have things that they lack. The eff res does it's job though for all content we have so far

I have both of them now. In my opinion fu xuan is better cuz she a little bit easier to build, she give crit rate, CC res and for me her matrix is activ or not is more simple like i have enough shield on me from aventurine. BUT, i hate the fact that fu xuan skill dosen't have a cap. So in some scenarios if her skill is active and she does not have stack for the HP reset she will continue to take their damage for herself and dies from it even if the other teammates had enough HP to survive. and if thats happens the others will die one by one. Oh, yeah and if she had more than 50% of her HP and the enemy make a big AoE attack she will just take all the damage and dies even if she had stacks on her.
Aventurine's shield is really tanky. But he just give me a shield and if thats runs out my characters not get any back up like from fu xuan. But thats in just really hard scenarios like in the Swarm disaster V, Gold and Gears and in that fucking Bug weekly boss what i forgot to farm him cuz i really hate that one. Some times it just targeted my sparkle and almost killed her cuz her shield ran off (when i had in that team clara too, but the enemies always target my harmony characters. not they have the highest aggro, isn't it?) Aventurine is an easy build character and i always get Def relics so finally someone can use them.
I think both of them is really awesome, just i think fu xuan is a little bit better. But if u need to choose any of them it not will be a bad choice.

i wanna ask something, I'm new to this game...i just reached 40 trailblazer level, and when it comes to sustain i have only one limited sustain which is aventurine and so far he is carrying my whole team and very easy to play I'm using dr ratio and clara with him.
But i don't have any other limited dps beside Dr ratio, so i was Saving jades but now I'm bit confused.... should i pull for Fu Xuan in this upcoming banner or keep saving for dpc like acherona and jingliu etc.

Definitely save for dps! Having aventurine already is going to be great for your teams. Jingliu is amazing, Sam will be fantastic when he releases. So yeah I would say focus dps for now since you have aventurine! Don't fret too much either, at level 40 you have plenty of time to round out those teams 💪

Imo, it depends if Aventurine is auto-friendly in the non-forward atk teams. His AI in the story trial was trashy. He used his normal atk instead of his skill shield on auto sometimes.. even when my party only had 10% shield left lol.. He can't even heal back the party after the HP loss from not shielding. I never had problem with FuXuan.
Auto battling is an interesting idea, I think the AI in general is kinda mid😭
First time i cleared difficulty 5 in swarm disaster , aventurine shield is really helpful, my team hp didn't drain a bit, stackable shield with high effect res and fua really carried my team

I bet you will be saying that after a few months after building Aventurine. For a company like Hoyoverse, the next set of 5 stars will always trump the older ones. That is how you make money. Why release the newest 5 star as inferior compared to the old ones?
My only 2 teams are hypercarry and DoT, so saving for fu and huohuo seems like the right move for me at this point (I think?)
Huohuo is best sustainer ATM for sure (we will see when AV comes out). AV is best for nihility especially with trend of the universal market. Thats a good plan tho!

Not really a fan of Damage Mitigation. Good thing Aventurine feels so much better and comfy to use. His shield is just too thick and can be refreshed quickly. He is also super SP positive.
Also since his shield has 100% up most of the time that would also mean a permanent 50% EFF RES on the whole team. I did a high conundrum level on G&G and it's so satisfying to see the word "Effect RES" on everyone resisting Nihility's debuff. Even my Acheron resisted those debuffs with just a 54% EFF RES. I'd take the permanent 50% EFF RES than the one time CC resist per activation. At least with the 50% EFF RES bonus, it doesn't include yet the EFF RES stats you get from your relic substats and Broken Keel.
Also with high EFF RES everyone gets a chance to resist ANY kinds of debuff not only specified to CC like DoTs, stat reduction debuffs such as atl reduction, slow, def reduction and oh that Prana debuff from that one enemy that cuts everyone's Max HP. This is the reason why I find Aventurine's EFF RES buff more helpful than FX's one time CC resistance. Why resist only one when you can resist all?
Yeah his eff res definitely is very good. I'm in the process of building him now, can't wait to see how he rocks in the new su events coming soon 👀

I'm tired of people overvaluing Aventurine, the only times he's actually better to have then Fu Xuan is if you are going for FuA teams, or if you want more debuffs for acheron. Another thing worth mentioning is that with Aventurine you will have to build ER for every character you want to play alongside him if you don't want to rely on RNG to resist CCs because not only do you only get 50% , the enemies also have effect hit rate.
It's also funny that there are people saying that "Fu Xuan will die if you get hit with AOE", it goes to show that they don't have Fu Xuan because if they did they would know as long as you have a decently built Fu Xuan that's almost impossible and only worth worrying about if they add future enemies that have way way stronger AOE attacks then they do now.
I don't think it's over-valuing. He's going to be a great unit, just like FX is. Will he be as universal , nah. But he will still be plenty good for most teams, and amazing in the teams he excels in

He might only be better in some teams that need Debuff or Fua but that would also be where most of his value would be!
It would be the same to say that people was overvaluing Luocha on his release... Back then people had problems with the heals and when he released he could hold the whole team alive without using skill points. You could say Fu Xuan is better in any way now and he is not that op anymore but that still doesn't change the stage the game was in when he released!

It's not the same thing to say people were overvaluing Luocha, because you would be using hindsight and comparing a much better future unit that we didn't have at the time to a past character release, whereas in this case I'm saying people are overvaluing a future character over the characters we already have in the game, not to say he's bad just that some people are seemingly taking the hype train way too far.
