If Baudimon is an emblem ring the skill he provides for the unit he engages to is Charge, every move the unit make the more damage is added for the attack and also gives the unit additional two movements just to be more effective. Also if Jakka and Aylanda are emblem rings too. Jakka gives Lancefaire or Lancefaire+. For Alyanda its either Renewal or her personal skill last light. Just an idea though.

If you want to attempt it as it is intended then yes it is bad design wise, but I have to give it credit to help in certain situations
Congrats on beating chapter 17 and Ike’s paralogue without any unit dying, I’m impressed (Hortensia? Who’s that?) Since you want to use Lindon maybe consider pairing him with Byleth. When Engage it will grants him +2 magic range (so 5 with a thunder tome). Combined with Dragon Hex you can hit and debuffed Demonic Beast without being counter. Also with the skill Divine Pulse you are almost guaranteed to hit everyone. Let’s hope the run will live
