As an American I feel patriotic for a country I'm not even from or have been to its insane love this band and history I have much respect for war veterans foreign and domestic.
Russians sent their fleet to protect the Patriots against Redcoats. We also helped the northern states in the Civil War against the south. Russia and USA were close allies for a long time, which has been strongly suppressed. The October Revolution weakened the Russian empire, but strengthened the Leftist revolutionary movements in the Capitalist USA. So during the civil war, the US helped some states like Poland to break off. But it wasnt until the end of WW2 that the US gained total suppremacy on the world stage. Thats when Russia became a competitor. The USSR supplied Europe with cheap resources. Up until then the US was the main supplier of resources for Europe.
I guess you can't really be patriotic for a foreign country (unless you are a Serb like I am, and if that country is an Orthodox Slavic country like Russia or Ukraine, but that's a long and tragic story), But... All heroes, all brave and honorable people, friends and enemies, they all have their place in the eternity. If there's Heaven (or Valhalla, I guess), that's where all the heroes sit together and where only bravery and honor count, not the side of the trench they fought in. That's exactly the message of Sabaton music - they don't take sides - they sing about everyone who's loved by the gods of War.
This is a cover of Radio Tapok. Radio Tapok did a reaction to it - I don't know Russian but, he was obviously pleased with Sabaton's work.
Sabaton has done several songs about Russian Army - including one about Afghanistan. They do several countrys' historical events/people.

Sabatonfans around the world feel patriotic to all of the songs. :-) I guess the swedish Rs are similar to the russian. I was smiling when the guitar solo was to begin. Loved your reaction!!

That’s awesome!
I'm Canadian yet this is one of my favorite songs from Sabaton. Gives me chills whenever I hear "Heed the Motherland's call and brace for the storm!" and "From the mountains and the plains, coming thousands on the trains," since the patriotism is so strong, you know every citizen heard the call and answered it, I wish my country had at least a sliver of patriotism left somewhere, maybe things wouldn't be falling apart so much if we still loved our nation as we did back then :P
I can't imagine what it's like to be Russian and hear this song, especially when they play the epic Russian anthem in the guitar solo. Amazing song and amazing reaction.

As an American, I love hearing that Russia is making sure to keep the memories of the fallen soldiers alive. Here in the U.S. we almost never hear stories about it and it almost seems like everyone has forgotten what had happened.
I thought sabaton songs could not get ever more epic... boy oh boy.... glad I was wrong
I like that Russia keeps remembering but honestly I hate that only one half of the truth is remembered. Nobody is allowed to say that USSR started WW2 alongside Hitler by attacking Poland and that they were providing supplies to Germany for the attack on the West. Also, many of the Soviet dead were directly caused by Stalin and his disregard for human life.
Remembering wars should be about honoring heros but also about learning from own mistakes. And Russia does ony the first one, ignoring things like enormous material help from USA, Katyn massacre, Warsaw insurrection etc.
Russia is amazing...a great and historic nation. Greetings from Portugal!

In the end, we are all humans... And You, Anastasia, there is no way not to just love your delight in hearing this song for the first time! It was just as contagious as the corona virus... So happy for you! I think I need to see this reaction again right on the spot ;-)
Thank you so much!
You Swedes have been at peace for 207 years, so Sabaton can sing without any problems.
@@asenka11 Anyone else think that second tanker look like Putin?
@@user-yy7tw9hv9n Yes i did
@@alexs7189 We have, but there are very questionable decisions made during WW2 by Sweden, it was only militarily neutral but that's where the neutrality stopped. That being said, I do not blame my own country despite that. We were between two military powers that could completely destroy our nation and they would if we ever refused their demands.
Regarding our long lasting peace, yeah that is of course fortunate. But which two nations has been at war the most of all other nations in the entire world? Ohh, hello Denmark and Sweden who fought eachother at every opportunity despite gaining very little in terms of territory or wealth. Over 30 wars and several hundred years of being in a state of war between eachother where pauses in actual fighting were simply preparations for the next battle. Yet, despite having the most warlike relationship of all nations, Sweden and Denmark are among the closest and friendliest international relationships to ever exist in present day. Probably second only to the relationship between Sweden and Finland which I really do not think any other international relationship can match. It's interesting how things can turn completely 180 in seemingly no time at all.
But yeah, all marches on Moscow have ultimately led to complete disaster and destruction of all attacking forces. The Swedish Carolean army, likely being the most fearsome army at the time, winning battles despite being outnumbered 2-4:1 were pretty much completely destroyed during their march towards Moscow. The russians pay a huge price in blood but they are undoubtedly survivors and that commands respect.
That "Magadan" is just how we say it in Sweden...

I've said it before... This song makes me feel proud for the Russians (even though I'm Swedish... 🇸🇪😄). When I listen to Sabaton's "Uprising" or "40:1" I feel patriotic for the Polish... You want to check out something different from Sabaton, a song about another country... Try "Blood of Bannockburn" (official lyric video). It's about the Scottish beating the English in 1314... The song is a banger!🤘 Great reaction, btw! 🤩
I'm not even Russian but this song is so damn BADASS! Liked & Subbed! 🤘😁
Your face when the solo turned into the national anthem... :D
This is a great reaction.
Sabaton are better teachers of history than most lecturers in the subject! And in all their songs they bring a feel of the country they are singing of.
I love how you highlighted Sabaton's use of male choirs as being a very Russian thing - The male voice choir I was a member of back in the early 80s played host to a Russian male voice choir while they were touring the UK, and this took me right back to then. They capture that Russian male choir sound perfectly. Your adding your voice just enhanced it.
It is a very different sound to the one that is most familiar to UK audiences, that of the Welsh male voice choir (and as a bass, I loved the sound - it is deeper!).
We learned several of their songs including the anthem, and they several of our repertoire, and on the few combined concerts we gave would do those en-masse - nearly 150 of us on stage.
Of course, I only learned the songs musically and as sounds, my brain being stubbornly monolingual - I've sung in Russian, Welsh, Latin, Italian, Dutch, German, and Spanish that I recall, but don't know a word of most of them, and those probably only appropriate to post-concert drinking with other choirs!
You would not believe how quickly 150 post-concert dry throats can drink a bar dry!
The amount of beer needed would probably drain the worlds supply, lol!
My son turned me onto Sabaton. This is a good song. I got to visit Moscow in 1986, very interesting for a Yank. My great grand mother visited, I think, before the Second World War. She was in Leningrad walking battlements somewhere and talking with her guide about some of his oppression... He was pleading with her to stop, saying that people might be listening. The noon cannon at L'Hermitage went off and he dropped to the floor thinking he was being fired on . We had a school girl show us around a school and while in the classes she stood on the party line. While between classrooms she kept asking us about the USA and if it was really like what they were taught. Heck, if anyone studies history at all (and too many don't) they know there was a race to take Berlin between the US with England and the Russian army. So those of us that do study, we know 100% that Russia was integral in winning WWII.
They d get the epicness of every country, No bullets fly U.S song and winter war from Finnish perspective. They nail those.
As a drummer and musician, I love SABATON, as I have always preferred rock / metal to any other genre of music. Even though I am 46 years old and got to experience the 1980s rock and metal music scene, SABATON is my all time favorite band!
As a historian who loves the WWII era more than any other time period in history, I have much respect and admiration for the Russian people and their determined, valiant effort at defeating the Nazis. Defence of Moscow is my #1 played song by SABATON, and I get chill bumps when I hear the guitar solo transition into the Russian national anthem. Though I do not understand the words, the music is gorgeous and full of emotion. I would love to visit Russia one day as a tourist!
This, coming from an American who is patriotic, no matter what country is being showcased in one of their songs. One planet, united on our cosmic voyage through space and time!
Best reaction ever! ) You've noticed anthem and more... you sang it! I offer you to check another Sabaton's videos: SABATON - Night Witches (Animated Story Video) and SABATON - No Bullets Fly (Animated Story Video). Animated story of Night witches will make sense. really, i promise

Unfortunately, many Americans don't know much (if anything) about their own country's efforts and sacrifices in both world wars, so not knowing about Russia isn't really surprising. And I'm American, so this isn't a knock against the US in general, it's a commentary on how little people seem to care about history. My grandfather was a member of a Soviet bomber mission as a 14 year old Serbian kid - when the Russians liberated northern Serbia, they established a bomber airbase on a field close to my grandfather's home, and, as every kid would do, he was fascinated with the aircrafts, so he was constantly messing around, till one day a Russian bomber pilot asked him to join the cockpit. The rest is history, as they say.

I haven't seen anyone mention it in this comment section yet, but: Joakim, the lead singer, always rolls his R's. He's also half Czech and speaks at least some Polish, so maybe sounding a bit Russian was inevitable for him.
It's a lot simpler than that. He admitted in an interview with Dragonforce that he rolls his R's etc to hide his SWEDISH accent. In Swedish (except in the south, which Joakim is not from) you always roll your Rs. :)

Sabaton does indeed often give you the musical style appropriate to what they’re singing about. My favorite examples are To Hell and Back, with its sort of western sound, and Panzer Battalion, with a sort of Arabian sound.
What a reaction!!!
It brought smile to my face when you started singing the anthem.thank you!!!love from Russia!
And there's also a small part of "Final Countdown" in the begining, Sabaton members were talking about that in their interview at their official RUclips channel
Sabaton has a plethora of songs from different nations, Coat of Arms - Greece, The Last Battle - Austria, shiroyama - Japan, 40:1 - Poland, Ghost division - Germany, it goes on.
Thank god! At last one that have the good taste to recognize the national hymn of CCCP in the solo!! And I love your reaction! ❤️
День Победа. The Victory day.
I have taken to considering it to be the end of devastation and the beginning of the rebuild.
Excellent video. Thank you!
Joakim (Sabaton lead singer) when you listen to there music each one might play at the start the same or similar but through his voice and how they play they give you the feeling especially through an official music video where you see them and there transitions to an event like a good example would be Livgardet, (about the defense for the Swedish King division(s) as it gives you pride for that country that you never have been to or liked etc, but the way they play there songs and another good one is Reign of Terror as it is loud and fast at the start because Operation Desert Storm which was a fast and quick movement to make Iraq surrender. Over all you can tell when something is gonna be fast or sad and slow like Final Solution, which is why I also like the band.
Sabatonism = feeling patriotic as fuck for a another country than your own ✊
Greetings from Kamchatka. The edge of Russia.)

Russian anthem sounds so epic with power metal guitar! Поздрави от братска България! \m/
Knew you would love it
I'm a new suscriber (loving the videos btw! ) so i didn't knew you were russian! Im obssesed with watching reactions to Sabaton and i have to say, yours is been the most fun one because of that! Also i haven't noticed the anthem inside the song and probablly would never notice if it wasnt because of you hehe
