This video made me remember Star Citizen is Chris Roberts making the game he has always wanted to make. With all the alpha, bugs, and waiting, I lost sight of that. I do hope he achieves his goal, and I hope we as individuals get to achieve our own dreams for our own lives as well.
I have described Star Citizen before as "All the little things" their attention to detail is truly unmatched in the gaming world. I can't wait to get good lol.
Just made the wife watch and had to explain why no loading screens, dynamic fires, etc are a big deal. Her: "that doesn't just exist in all games????" :)
Did you respond " No! It doesn't even exist in this one. Yet, or maybe ever. This is just a demo." Don't let the hopium get the best of you or your wallet.
@@AaronAlso don't let that negativity get to other people. The tech's incredible and a beacon for other games even if this never gets released. Which, given its progression, it will.
@@oscarreyes4511 I'm grounded in reality after more than a decade of lies. Glad you feel that you got your 6k worth. You should then be happy walking away and ignoring my comments.
The beauty of this video is crazy and you can tell it's all in engine because in the scenes with NPCs they are moving with some of the jank they have currently with path finding etc. Yeah I'm gonna show this one to people who say SC is a scam and ask can your game of choice do this? I was there in person for citizencon and my mind is blown and all the years of patience are finally paying off. The Pyro system is a wild place even the one station you start in is a new maze too be learned.
It's pretty wild to see what they have built out starting from the ancient 21-year-old Crytek engine Lumberyard was derived from. The epic music from Pedro Camacho and Geoff Zanelli for PU/SQ is the chef's kiss. I wonder how salty Todd Howard would be watching this.

Nice, nice, but! The real milestone in computer games is not this, but server meshing!!! Well, hats off to that! Paul Reindell probably understands computer networks, micro services in cloud environments... :)
This demo hits hard because it not only shows what we already have ingame, but all the new is within reason and is going to appear relatively soon. I feel the game is entering into a golden era
2024 is lookin like it'll be the most impactful year for Star Citizen since 2017 when 3.0 dropped. Been a long time comin, but if Pyro and Nyx come along with Squadron 42 then holy shit best year ever.
"what we already have ingame" hahaha. When was the last time you saw NPCs moving in a coherent way? When was the last time you saw this seamless transitions without a drop in FPS?? Ship crew? Good animation? Come on, don't lie to yourself. This is pure fantasy, the game was never like this, and won't be for a long time...
Well, this certainly is a polarizing game / tech demo, depending on who you ask, which this comment section clearly shows. CIG has always been very good at marketing their game though, and I think nobody can dispute that. How much of this will or will not be implemented in a timely fashion, or indeed at all, remains to be seen. I did manage to get hyped into believing that SQ42 might get a near-future release date during Citcon, but I see that was foolish. Oh well.
