How I made my first frilled silk scrunchie?

Hey! I am happy to have you here in my channel!
In this video you can get inspiration for your own frilled silk scrunchies. Either you just start sewing or want some new hair accessories.
00:02:09 First scrunchie is my test scrunchie. I have never sewn these kind of scrunchies before but I am happy to share with you my failures and successes.
00:12:30 The second (black) scrunchie turned out very good because I learned from mistakes and improved some sewing nuances.
00:19:36 Than I decided to improve my first scrunchie so I teared the threads and shortened the length of fabric. Conclusion - you don’t need a lot of fabric for your scrunchie to look beautiful. That actually hurts the elastic.
Included sewing tips: fabric tearing, magnet, ironing for high quality look, 00:16:45 securing safety pin with scotch tape.
Materials and tools:
1. Woven fabric 75*11cm
2. Matching thread
3. Scissors
4. Elastic 0,7cm*18 cm
5. Measuring tape
6. Safety pin and some pins
7. Sewing machine and iron

Hello Justine, I loved your Scrunchies I discovered this video today. I only have a question, if you reduce the quantity of silk to 75cm, reduce you the size of elastic too? If the answer is yes, what is the new size now for the elastic ? Thanks so much from Australia.

Hello Maria! Of course you can reduce quantity of silk. In video there is 75 cm in lenght, but you can make in any length you want. As for the eleastic, you can keep 17-18 cm. You can change it if only you feel so. Let's say you want the scrunchy to be tighter in hair then you can reduce lenght of elastic. Hope this helps!
