Just my opinion. I get all the satisfaction and pleasure through playing the game. Buying a ship to back the project never left me wanting lol.... But while temporary, farming correctly only to get a forced wipe because people ruin the credit flow with dupes has definitely agitated me a few times so... Yea.. If yall have the disposable income, buy that damn ship. Support what you love. 🙃

Are CIG paying you to try and increase ship sales like? Wipes are apart of pre alpha dude, even without the duping it was going to happen. My question though. Why would I spend a months wages of a digital asset when I could spend 2 days worth of ingame grinding and get the same ship? I get CIG increased ingame price to try and push more people to spend real world money but I’ll play Roblox before I spend thousands on a game.

@@JohnDoe-lx3dt you'll have to buy a ship before we can cross those waters together bud.....
No but in all seriousness, the in game price hikes happened because of the increase in credit making. And if you weren't aware it's far from over. They'll keep increasing as we draw closer to beta followed by the live release. Ships were always meant to be expensive and reputation based. Meaning it doesn't matter how much money you have. You won't be able to walk into any dealer "aside from Drake" and just buy whatever you wanted. You'll need money AND rep... And I see where you stand on actually supporting the project. It's not going to be made on dreams and wishes... Believe it or not, the 1k+ people working there aren't working on back pats and cold pizza...... They actually have families and bills. Crazy, I know, but those guys and gals actually like getting paid for their work. That said, seeing how I absolutely love SC, I find it odd for me to take the approach you do. It's like.... shutting off my water supply in my house because people are using it to put out a fire..... IN MY HOUSE.... Yea, no that's not gonna bode well in the end. I thank and appreciate every player who has come after me to support this project. Be it $40 or $40k.... Their contribution aids the dream. I will not move to stop that.

@@durtyred86 I fully understand a dev team requires paying, that’s not exactly a mystery the issue is that because of the drawn out means of development that CIG has gone for it’s meant that the business practices have had to become disgustingly predatory to keep the funding up. The way they go about capital ship sales is just the easiest example. They create an artificial scarcity to encourage the fear of missing out and driving players to spend literal thousands of a digital asset that’s supply is entirely dependent of the copy and paste function. I get that there will be economic changes as the game develops but this you think this major hike is anything but a push back at those that grind out their credits and never buy off the store then your a fool. The credit duping is an issue of course, but changing all the prices to you don’t have to fix the root cause isn’t an answer that just inflation.

    • @durtyred86

@@JohnDoe-lx3dt you exaggerate, and overuse the words "disgustingly predatorial".... I've played games that were truly praying on their fan base. And for no other reason than to pay out their private investors AND make a killing themselves.... You don't build a giant sequoia tree in a handheld flower pot and with a few drops of water per month..... If that missed you, it means this game won't float on cheapskates and penny pushers who survive off of soup kitchens and food drives......
It takes FUNDING. And not a modest amount either. You blew over the idea that devs need to be paid but I suggest you take a moment and ponder what that means. Sure, they could sell you ships as cheap as $1 and as expensive as $50..... I'm sure you'd be 100% content and none the wiser of the small, sub par copy and paste environment that they create for you.
Here's the part where your whole "Super monster predator human hunter eater" makes literally 0 sense...
Nearly everything....and I do me nearly EVERYTHING, can be or will eventually be purchased in game... Please, don't scramble for the small case scenario of ships like the Raven...It's under a licensed agreement and in fact, they just released a similarly styles ship a few days ago... So go ahead and put down that super ammunition of coloring crayons....it won't work... Back to the predator monsters.... Fear not, dude... What I buy you can get for free with an investment of time... Let people buy what they want to buy and stop belly aching over non existent "predators"... You have a choice. True predators do not offer you that choice. You either buy or you don't get at all... That's not the case here. I support their decision to hike the prices of ships and I also support and anticipate the continued price hikes. It's way too easy to make a crap ton of cash in less than a week and buy the ship you want in game... Then, you have people flying around throwing money around and saying they want the wipes because they don't know what to do with all their money lol. Don't get mad at CiG, they begged for this. I'm OK either way it goes. This is a business first with a record of work that you can literally look up online. Contrary to the masses of ignorant followers, Chris isn't on a $1 billion Yacht smoking a Cuban cigar and smacking the ass of his many concubines........ He's working to bring his dream to life. People like me would appreciate it if you'd stop complaining about tiny things that you have full power to control and either support the cause or drop out and play something that's more your speed. We're here for the whole ride. Not just the bumps... Saddle up or put your walking shoes on buddy. The support won't be leaving anytime soon.

@@durtyred86 and you just come off as a bleeding heart fuck boy thats to invested to see he’s being taken for a ride. I adore the game and play it daily doesn’t mean I’m going to empty my wallet monthly to keep playing, it’s no where near that good. Even now the game is not nearly at the stage that was promised years ago. Yes they could lower the prices of real world purchases as they are just copy and pasted assets and if they weren’t being sold as if they had actually built the damn ships they’d probably make more sales. The comment on predatory practices also came with an exact description that you’ve avoided entirely. Why have artificial supply issues on ships if not to create a mad rush on the few occasions they are but on sale? This fillet week is a proof as the idris and javelins were sold out in seconds, but why? They could just sell them at a reasonable real world price year round, so why play the market games?

I love the Ironclad, especially the Assault. With the workshop having the ability to refuel, rearm, and repair, while also fabricating components, it's going to be a cool addition to the game. Plus, it's going to have an absolute beast of a life-support system. I already have friends planning how to use it as a mobile base... and biker bar. The Jukebox has sold so many copies... 🤣

This is another ship meant for group play. Which is great if you have friends. Otherwise, it's dead weight. Like all the big ships, they are for gameplay that doesn't exist unless players create it.
The only problem this ship solves is looting large quantities of cargo, which is a group activity.

The price and more important time of production will be interesting. Seems they have more than one big ship pipeline.

I’m disappointed in that there isn’t a variant for space ship support. The repair rearm refuel facility on the assault is only for ground units. I’m keeping my Liberator. It carries more ships, has a separate cargo area. I understand the ironclad standard variant is a gunned up cargo hauler while the Liberator is a ship and vehicle mover. I’m still looking for that small pocket carrier for 4 medium sized fighters with a tier 3 med bed and beds for the crew and pilots with AA focused turrets and no anti cap ship.

The Assault variant seemed like an interesting one to get, but for now, it will not have the tractor beams. Kinda disappointed about that.
Also one of the Assaults selling points is transporting large ground vehicles, but I'm pretty sure the tractor beams will allow the normal one to do the same.
I just don't think it's worth the almost 100 USD extra.

@@durtyred86 During 2.23 it's still the best cargo you can use, the issue is the realistic cargo update, probably in 4.0: You have to manually load and unload anything, and a ship with doors that aren't as large as the hold and without tractor beams will be incredibly annoying to operate. That's exactly why people are so excited by the retractable roof and tractor beams looking into said hold in the Ironclad, this looks to be the fist cargo built fro mthe ground up according to real gameplay needs, not abstractions from over 10y ago.
Edit: And to those who already spent 400 bucks for a cargo ship anyway it's a gure upgrade in cargo space for "only" 50 more bucks.

1536 SCU is a good step between the C2 and the Hull series.

  • @NoOneFPV
    @NoOneFPV 4 месяца назад

I picked up a CCU from the Hull C to the Ironclad Assault. I haven't applied it yet... I haven't applied the CCU to the RSI Galaxy from the MSR yet either. I'm waiting until they are actually in game before giving up the MSR and Hull C at this point, they are actually in game! I do have to admit though that I'm VERY tempted to CCU my Carrack or even my Merchantman to the Polaris, it's SO tempting, but damn... I just love my Carrack! It's such a fun ship! I'm finding it really hard to pull the trigger on that even though I think I'd get a just as much fun and utility out of the Polaris. I mean, like everyone else, I waited very patiently for SO LONG for the Carrack, it's hard to think about letting her go... Even though she got SO FAT and WEIRD looking compared to the original concept artwork. But, then again, I also have the Merchantman which I also bought into quite early. The Carrack and MM have pretty much doubled in 'value' since I bought them since I bought them pretty much at concept... I'm really not sure I want to screw with either of them. The Hull C has actually exactly doubled in value since I purchased it, so I think I'm getting a pretty good "deal" there on the CCU to the Ironclad Assault for a measly $25. :) I will most likely stick with the Carrack and MM at this point, even though that Polaris is just oh-so-tempting. But if I do decide to CCU either of them to the Polaris, I'd have to melt the Galaxy CCU chip and my last LTI token (Hoverquad) to help cover the cost of the CCU-switcheroo, too. Not that I'd mind having to keep the MSR, it's a damn fine and fun ship to fly around in, too! What do you/(ya'll) think? What would you/(ya'll) do given those choices? I'm curious!

I would ask myself if you have more than enough friends online during your ‚normal‘ playsession to have your Carrack fully or even overcrrewed? If not than i would stick to the Carrack cause the Polaris will be a just a Name on the ASOP Terminal for you most of the time. I rly dig the Polaris but i already melted mine for the Perseus. Cause i don‘t have enough friends and time ofc to proper man this ship. Now it takes sometimes up to 1 hour to man a Hammerhead and get everyone together…

@@stefanfischer9747 I'm looking more at the long-run. :) I haven't been playing SC lately, so no friends left there for the moment. That doesn't mean, however, that I wouldn't MAKE enough within a week to fly. It's more just a question of... fully crewed with either players or NPCs, which will have the most potential for fun? I think both have their merits. I did, however, melt one of my LTI tokens and pick up a hammerhead to polaris CCU to hold on to for now though. :) That solved the dilemma for this particular moment.
