Built by Curtis D. Summers, Inc., Mean Streak opened in 1991 at Cedar Point as the world’s tallest (161 feet) and fastest (65 mph) wooden roller coaster. More than 26 million guests have boarded its three trains of green, gold and red with signature storm cloud and lightning bolt graphics, and experienced its 155-foot drop, tall hills and rattling turns over more than 1.7 million board feet of treated Southern yellow pine. I know, right? I took me awhile to figure out where it was originally from because he adds it over every coaster (although I feel that I should have realized it was from mean streak sooner)
I know that it's from mean streak but it still was really weird

I rode this all the time as a little girl with my grandpa. Maybe it’s nostalgia but this is one of my favorite rides ever!!!

I am sorry but I loved this coaster back in the day. Maybe I am being nostalgic but it was definitely one of my favorites in the 90s.
Well RMC brought it back from the grave and now it’s better than before as Steel Vengeance.

This coaster jacked my back up so bad that I needed to go a chiropractor. Hell of a ride but not worth the pain lol
why would you ever go to the chiropractor when you could go on Mean Streak AGAIN? You had to go on it twice. One time for the experience. Another time to put your back back into place.

I personally never felt pain on the ride. It felt good bouncing around like that.
What a long run at the end. I kept thinking it would end. Within the sea of wood, I couldn't tell where it was going.
I think this thing is unfairly maligned. The design is good...first half filled with air time and large drops, and second half is speed and going through the structure. It’s super imposing and looks amazing. Just a shame that it became so rough, especially considering that it wasn’t that old....it became rough only like 8-10 years after it opened. Obviously I’m glad it’s SV now, but this coaster wasn’t all bad....
I loved Mean Streak (I love SV too). The bumpy ride was part of why I liked it. Sure it could actually be a bit painful, but to me that was part of the thrill. Rough, unforgiving, yet exciting
It’s called the Mean Streak for a reason.
I don't know why there was so many haters about "Mean Streak".
I didn't find it rough.

Thanks for the dates. That means i definitely rode it when i went. I did all 13 (at that time) coasters that day... Anything else was just a bonus.

For those of you are unfamiliar...
*A block zone is the section of the ride that only one train may occupy. At the end of a block zone is a method to stop a train in case the block zone is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents roller coaster trains from colliding with one another.*
I loved this ride. But I swear that mid-course braking at 2:06 did not exist 😂 On slow summer days the operators would let us get right back on the next train as many times as we wanted😎
I remember riding MS every visit, but you had to make it the last ride of the day. It was even better at night, and bc you'd get a massive headache.

This could have been a great ride if CP went with CCI and not Dinn
CCI was Founded in 91 didn't build their first coaster until 92 which was boulder dash, mean streak was already under construction before CCI was Founded
Dinn made the beast

My head hurts just watching the video and reminiscing a back seat ride!!! THIS WAS HORRIBLE during its last years!! The queue was non existent for a reason! People avoided M.S like the plague!!

Going on this at night almost gave me a panic attack 😂 there is literally no lights on this ride at all its pitch black for half the ride.
The best thing CP ever did was let RMC work their magic on Mean Streak. It went from being a painfully rough abomination of a wooden coaster to one of the greatest coasters in the world.

RMC beats even Maverick in Intensity I got to ride lighting Rod Four Times it blows B&M and intamin away

doesn't seem all that rough, was it just as rough as The Boss, Gwazi, or The Rattler (pre-RMC)?
I have haven't ridden those two... but yes. This thing was like riding in a human sized paint mixer. Me and a friend ride it 3 times in a row because there was no line. We had to stop because we were hurting too much. Pulled a pectoral muscle on it and he hurt his back
I remember my dad retiring from riding roller coasters because this one really hurt his back

Rocky Mountain construction and they make allThe B&Ms and even Intamin's LOOK AnD Seem Like "Child's Play) in intensity I've rode them all
Gavan prior steel vengeance is what will replace this, the same mean streak structure is there, except the ride will be much better and more fun

What was the matter with this coaster? It looks like it didn’t need the Iron Horse cosmetic surgery procedure. Could it be that people just don’t appreciate the classic majestic rattle and hum and sway only a woodie can supply? RMC found a way to make a classic wooden coaster into a twisted beast to perhaps preserve the woodie and at the same time satisfy the enthusiasts’ adrenaline addiction.
It was extremely bumpy. I liked it as a kid, but a lot of people found it painful.

Not RMC has come up with Topper track Outlaw Run,wildfire kolmarden zoo,,lighting Rod at Dollywood and can do extreme elements RMC trains=====comfy non shaking like B&M's kinda like Millenium Force trains
