Such a great band, I saw Craig Finn at a tiny little local gathering in Beach Haven, NJ about four years ago & loved him then. So cool to hear his voice every time I hear the hold steady.

When I try to explain The Hold Steady’s sound to someone who has never heard them before, I always say that they have one of those americana sounds that makes you feel nostalgic… but you aren’t quite sure what for. I understand the Warren Zevon connection. I think it’s more of a Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band sound though. A raspy voiced story teller with a killer band.
