Synthetic characters have always been great in Alien movies. Andy is great too and David Jonsson did a great job. This is not the kind of movie that lands actors nominations and awards, but he deserves some recognition this year.

agreed i always thought big chap wouldn't survive in space if there's no food or atmosphere they survive in but this movie proved me so wrong and i was shocked and blown away that it was big chap the first xenomorph from alien
Fun time. Haunted house with xenos and cool sequences. Right to the point and great pace. People hating this movie will never be happy with any modern story in the Alien universe.

In space no one can explain where the 20+ facehuggers came from in Alien Romulus. No one on Earth can either come to think of it. Did David just Space FedEx them? And this greedy corporation who’s been trying to get an alien since they received David’s transmission are just going to leave 20+ FACEHUGGERS on an abandoned space station to eventually crash into a moon or planet….Right 🤨 cause that makes sense. 😂🤣😂. SUCH BAD WRITING. Who green lit this mess?
I loved this film and had an absolute nerdgasm when I heard the classic pulse rifle sound effect. Best alien film since 1986 in my opinion.

Saw it today (Aug 18th) - it seems like they’re shortening the time process on the Xenomorph.
I’d say it was on her face less than 15 minutes, burst out of her chest less than 5 minutes later, created a cocoon to incubate and went from baby Xeno to 6 feet in less than 30 minutes.
I guess director’s & audiences don’t have patience for a slow Xeno growth cycle.
The black fluid is an improved accelerated modification made by Weyland corp , Not the same research done in resurrection which was samples of DNA of ripley taken from the penal colony surgical waist disposal was all the space lab had .
yeah one of weak things.Too fast growing of aliens - but they rush things in this movie to show all.Not slow suspence like in old ones.

The Xenos on the Renaissance were man-made, as they were derived from WY's experimentation with Big Chap and likely the Prometheus goo. So an accelerated growth rate would make sense. And don't forget Big Chap himself evolved from chestburster to drone in a manner of hours.
I mean, they showed more of its life cycle in this movie than any other. I guess old time movie goers didn't have any interest in seeing this explained.

@@Hi_Simbi I really hope this makes some good $ and gives them the green light to make more…Fede Alvarez did a really great job on this…much better than Ridley does as a director…he should stay as the production house type role and creative consultant. I really hope he is able to get the 3rd prequel done to finish the David/Covenant story…and I don’t know if they can ever put the back story to where the derelict Engineer ship on Acheron (that started the whole story) came from. I’m assuming it was a crashed ship from the Engineer’s effort 2000 years before to bomb earth or something like that, and the xeno’s got out….that old gag again.
The guns and the life trucker device was amazing in Aliens

What was the electric blue mist though? I was hopeing they would explain that. What was emitting the mist? Why was it there?
In the 1st movie stepping into the mist was a signal for the eggs to hatch

It’s the same blue mist from the original Alien movie it serves 2 purposes. The first being giving the eggs protection and the second an alarm system when someone touches it giving them awareness to someone is there. Kinda like a trip alarm.

Saw it yesterday (10th Sept) and thought it was great. Rain and Andy were great characters and excellent actors, plus there was so much homage and crossover to the original 1979 Alien.
Okay I know technically it's a different gun but I really hope this particular pulse rifle makes the same sound effects that the one from the aliens movie does. I love that sound

@@TheMightyCookieShow It does…and it’s a pretty kick-ass weapon in this movie…they do a good job of countering it though with the threat of the xeno acid being a quick death as it will breach the hull in seconds.
I just saw this in the theater yesterday. 1: definitely worth seeing in a theater 2: if I were to describe it, it's a combination of Alien and Aliens 3: the best sequel so far to Alien(s)

Just went and seen movie. Impressed.i thought when they took the directive chip out of the abandoned Android. They didn't show it's face. And I thought if it was Ash.???? And it was. But he looked rebuilt in the face because he was torched with a flame thrower in Alien.

How can it be Ash? From the Nostomo? The Nostromo blew up, with Ash inside it, along with what was the remains of the crew… all gone by Ripley setting the ship on self destruct.
Ok, so they find the original Alien in a cocoon and bring it in. But where do all the face huggers come from then?
They recreated them when they used Big Chaps Dna and slightly modified them. You see not only the Facehuggers are a little diffrent but the Drones and Chestbursters too. This is because the Facehugger are created from the Dna Reflex that is deep in the Genetic of the Xenomorph and the Pathogen. This Pathogen was then recreated because of Big Chaps Dna and with this they not only created a diffrent strain of Pathogen but also the Prometheus Strain of Xenomorphs. And how did Weyland Yutani made the Facehuggers? Because of the Datas and other Things they discovered after Prometheus including Davids work on Planet 4 from Covenant because David did send his Datas directly to Weyland Yutani soon after he left the Planet

Very good movie that was nicely done. I thought they forced fed too many "easter eggs", but aside from that it was really good.
My dad took me to see the original Alien when I was a child, and I think this cast of young actors/actresses did a great job with old classic favorite of mine.

@@Nykkynn It was good…but not better than Alien or Aliens…a #3 behind them, which is still incredible as those 2 movies are legendary status…but Alien 3 and 4 are pretty trash so #3 wasn’t too hard to get.
@@90whatever Aliens is the best, you’re right, but I think the original Alien has tied with Romulus. That’s just me. Horror movies usually bore the shit out of me. Every alien movie I’ve ever seen was just really interesting it was never really thrilling to me. Romulus was stressful though, the characters were clever and yet they were met with some new stressful task. I was really impressed with the story overall, even though it went over older territory again, the story was stressful and it’s rare for me to get that kind of feelings from a horror type film. For that, it received extra on my scale.
Rather unreal to think, that while Ripley was in Hyper sleep all this time, 50 years, this was happening… and so was the colonization of Haley’s Hope’ on LV-426…. They should do a movie on Newt’s own story of survival before Ripley and the Colonial Marines arrival.

This is the problem that today's generation simply does not give it. Everything is fast! Without any depth, even meaningless incubation compared to the fictional world of the previous parts 🤔 All this changes the quality of the films and something like Ridley allowed himself 45 years ago that Alien has an introduction without a single word at the level of six minutes to create the atmosphere and build up the tension of what is to come. unfortunately already gone. In the case of Alien 1979 and Romulus, we see not only a 45-year difference, but also a difference in mainstream cinematography in the simplification of the characters (who remembers the names of the characters from Romulus?), a more primitive story and emphasis on capturing the audience's attention. In the mainstream, they have to adapt to it, the honor of the exceptions is the generation brought up by scrolling on mobile. It lacks the charm of the original first films. Excellent ??? By no means was it a normal disaster

The original was great. Totally love it. Have not seen Romulas yet. But intend to. I look forward to the movie being a cat out of the bag from the start. I have seen enough isolated stories of what did we find. Which are great. But now I want to get to the outbreak appoylpse part of the arc. It's time. Which is what the franchise seems to be headed to.

Отличный фильм, оправдал ожидания полностью, и с графони там все норм, намного красивее и зрелищнее того же Чужой Завет. Кстати если кто в курсе про оригинальный сюжет от Завета, если бы Ридли не внес свои корректировки, там все логично и красиво бы объяснялось, и про выход на планету без скафандров, и про пойманный сигнал и т.д.

Okay movie but where the heck were Weyland’s security forces. You are not going to let that outpost and cargo go into thin air. Military would have been all over that as well. This was why Aliens was so great. It was believable

@@jlien25 Agree…my brothers in law and me debated this last night in the theater lobby minutes after credits rolled. We figured Weyland-Utani had multiple efforts going on to get this Engineer/xeno DNA/black goo….and it was such a super secret project that the main company wasn’t even aware of it….so they could not really put a lot of resources into a rescue mission. We figured that as everything went to shit on the outpost they wrote it off as they had other efforts going on to get that material secured. The other option we figured out was that Fede and Ridley are hoping those of us who are huge nerds were not going to ask too many questions around that and just suspend disbelief and our plot probing.

The question I have is how can I unsee it. Plot holes big as Texas, then the ultimate slap in the face to the fans, another albino hybrid that no one asked for or wanted. Who green lit this shit script? No one mentioned the huge plot hole about where the facehuggers came from? No one bothered to tell him the fans are still pissed about the ending to Resurrection? And this POS albino hybrid grows like 12 feet in one minute? WTF? It was worse than watching a chemical spill train wreck, and it’s going to do as much damage to the franchise as a real train wreck would. I just keep asking myself WHAT WAS HE THINKING? Surely he saw the ending to Resurrection, was he the one person who thought it was good? Should I be grateful it’s not an octopus? I just wanna cry it’s so bad.
