Finally someone who reviews printers that aren’t over $500, the fact that you went through each of the different printer “paper” types helped a lot. I bought a cheaper HP trying to fit the sticker paper through it, which was a disaster. HP Envy 7155 and Printable vinyl here I come. THX

YAY !!! THIS IS THEE BEST REVIEW OF ANY PRODUCT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. SERIOUSLY, YOU EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCES IN A CLEAR AND CONCISE WAY! GREAT VIDEO!!! THANK YOU !
Yay! I have the HP7155 and I just bought a Cricut today with their sticker papers. I will be retuning those papers for thinner papers. Thank you so much for this video.
I have had an HP Envy for years now, and I use the HP Instant Ink, and I have to say I love my HP. I would not switch. I wish HP would come out with a 12 X 12" printer and one that will take a thicker sticker paper.
Angie … you always have the BEST videos of comparisons for so many products. You are always my “go to” when I want straight forward information. Totally the Queen of crafting! ❤
I want to thank you for all your sharing. I paid200 dollars for a cricut program and then I found yours. I want to thank you for such a good video and videos.God Bless your for your kindness. I am so appreciate of your talents..
Thank you for this comparison! So sad that the HP can't handle cardstock for print then cut. HP's are mostly front loaders and that means the paper has to curve back around on itself and thick paper doesn't want to to that! The only thing I think is missing in this video is more info on the thickness cut off point. Can it handle 100 lb cardstock but not 110 lb? Or 80 lb vs 100 lb? Guess I will have to do my own testing with my old Officejet 4630. 🙂
Same I’ve started a clothing line with my cricut and my printer isn’t compatible so I need a new one but am currently stuck because is which one is best
Something to add about the HP instant ink program is the roll over of prints! That’s amazing! Thank you for the vid. Definitely helps with choosing the right printer!
Angie i just got the Canon printer last week and I don't see any tutorials in regard of what we can do with it. The installation i founded easy to do. I hope you will do a tutorial on projects done with it, thanks for all you do.
My HP 6869 automatically tell them when I have printed so many pages and sends what I need. I have never gone over my 3,000 pages per month and never notice the monthly fee. It’s one less thing I have to worry about.
I have to say this has been the BEST printer comparison video I have seen on RUclips and trust me I have watched a lot trying to find a good printer. I have the HP 5070 but will definitely upgrade to the 7155!! I love the HP instant ink program! Thank you! New subbie for sure!
I use an epson eco-tank. You can't beat buying ink once a year and paying about the same as those limited cartridges. I can actually see how much ink is used instead of the wasteful "estimates" all other printers use. Quality of print is great. The only thing im jealous of is Canon's control panel options. Much easier to tweak their controls. With epson I control color from within the design program.
Is it epson eco-tank the best printer if you need to use a lot of ink on a daily basis? Is it good for vinyl transfer sheets? Please, let me know. I will appreciate your information
A lot of crafters you can find on youtube (spacially stickers makers) swear by the epson ecotank. I now have one because this is the only one I could find... printers are out of stock everywhere in France, they blame covid...
Angie, as of today I can’t print on my printer using print and cut. I’m met with a message “One quick thing… it looks like you still need to set up your machine. You will need to do this before you can make your project. Don’t worry it’s easy”. I could cry right now. I’ve been working on the design space for years.
@@AngieHolden no I don’t have a cricut machine! That’s what I mean. I’ve been using the software without owning a cricut. Now they’re making us own a cricut to use the software. So I purchased one. It should be here next week so I can start using design space again soon.
Thanks for the comparison. I had ordered the canon back in July, but it has been on back order, and I ended up canceling it. I may now look for another printer. I certainly don't need the 12x12 feature.
The thing you have to understand is that EVERY paper type will print differently, you have to take into account what file type you're printing from, ALL your printer settings (not just quality), and paper type. Ink will saturate thinner paper more than thicker cardstock, therefore producing more "saturated" prints... It's not the printer that's "not printing high quality", it's simply a difference in paper.

Thank you for this comparison video! I have the Pixma and I love it, but I've only ever had Canon and never tried HP so it's great to know that it is an option.
Just ordered the hp envy 7155! Wasted almost an entire pack of Cricut sticker paper 😭😭 trying to get my cheaper printer to work. Now I’m returning to try this one!! Thank you for the in depth review!
Canon has a photo paper that works better for their products. For the canon have you tried changing the color saturation for when it doesn’t have best quality?
This isn’t an apples to apples comparison. I’m sorry but this video wasn’t helpful. Just because you had problems with the Canon doesn’t mean it won’t perform to Best Printing. If you had called Tech Support. I’ll trust Consumer Reports
Thank you so much for such a thorough & helpful review! My HP OfficeJet 8600 has finally given up after a decade supporting my Etsy shop. I haven’t even taken my Cricut Maker out of the box yet, but good to know what will work with my new HP Envy 6255 that’s now on its way. :)
Thank you so much for this video! I have an HP OfficeJet, and can't print thicker paper with it either. I know you do a lot of stickers, so I will try printable vinyl before buying an HP Envy.
I have an HP office jet but it will not print any of the print then cut sheets. It keeps saying that it is jammed. So I wanted to get a printer that could handle thicker materials.
I have/had been in the market for a new printer for a while. My HP4650, 3 years old and $50 new, has been giving me some grief and its text printing is looking kind of bad. For a while it was undependable, but I was able to fix it. Anyway, it was time. A three color cartridge wasn't making it for me anymore. I wanted better. Bigger was also better. I finally was able to nab a Canon Crafters printer on Amazon in November. I have been pretty happy with it. I was disappointed when I discovered the Automatic Document Feed (ADF) didn't duplex scan. That was a little sad. But, I have a doc scanner that does do that, so, I'm good. The automatic duplex printing is a game changer! Angie, when I print on the Canon, my default is always Best Quality. But, I change the media setting the Canon, semi matte photo paper for sticker and get great results; never washed-out looking or "less than." It took a lot of tweaking to get it right. I still am experimenting with it. The printer is one huge puppy, for sure. Everyday, I like it a little bit better. Thank you for posting the video, Angie. It made me feel better about my decision.
Angie this is a great comparison. Thank you so much. I was thinking about getting the Cannon but now I know I’m sticking with my HP Envy. I have always loved it and it does a great job. Again thanks for this great video!!!

This video is amazing! Now I have the go 7155 and when I put card stock to print stickers it prints either the bottom part of them, not all the stickers. I’m using the Cricut brand Matte finish card stock…
Is it me or it seems like Hp doesn't make a model called "Hp envy photo" anymore? On their website, I could only find normal "Hp Envy" printers. Maybe it's called Hp Envy Inspire now?
Thanks so much for the thorough review of these two. I have a Canon Pixma Pro 100 which is a great premium printer, but overkill for stickers and regular documents. My concern always is compatability with Mac OS . Looking for a economical second printer for stickers.
One more question: Because it is inkjet, do I have to print a minimum amount every day or so in order for the "jets" not to plug up?? I had an HP printer 15 yrs ago and if I did not use it every day or two, the ink would dry up and I would have to buy another cartridge $$$$
Hi, I have a hp envy 4527, last night I tried to print on transparency paper the ink on the paper wasn't very vibrant and its still wet after more than 12hrs. My question is can u print on transparency paper with this printer. Thank you
This is excellent info; I am new to the Cricut explorer air 2 world and just purchased the HP Envy photo that you mentioned and had not taken it out the box because I was wondering if this was for printing on vinyls or heat transfer papers. Don’t know what I’m doing but you have gained a new subscriber
I like that the Canon allows you to print 12x12. However I like the HP InstantInk plan. I pay $2.99 a month for 50 sheets of paper. I have the older Kodak Craft printer and I use that to print sticker paper and heavier card stock because it was built for that but I don't like their cartridges, they dry out to quick. I hope HP comes out with a craft printer because I like the quality and the ink cartridge plan.
I just got a cricut and tried printing on my envy 5660 I bought 5 years ago and broke the rollers with the thick sticker paper. Whoops! Looking for a replacement. I might need to get the cannon or one with a rear paper feed.
Try going to the HP website and see it there is newer driver for your printer. Sometimes all you need to do is uninstall and then reinstall your printer.
It’s been a year and I need a printer ASAP: Do you have a preference for a printer (less than $250-300) that will have the print quality but also fit thicker papers? I ❤️ your channel and info, you’re AmaZeBaLLz!
I have an HP inkjet pro 9010 printer (only 1 year old) and I am having the DARNDEST time printing onto Cricut printable vinyl. It's NOT the sticker paper, it's definitely the vinyl. It keeps jamming my printer and I've ruined all but one page in the package. Will the Envy behave differently? Thank you SO much for any advice you might be able to offer. I am beyond frustrated at the moment. Three hours trying to figure out how to fix this. 😭
Thank you for that video 💜 !! I have the HP 7155 and I want start my sticker business, and most of vídeos say that Canon it’s better, I did some tests on my HP and I just need figure out settings on my printer to have a better quality!! The colors are not coming out nicely! Also I tried the thicker paper, at first didn’t work, so I took of all the paper on my printer and used one thicker paper and worked beautifully!!
@@AngieHolden ohh good to know thank you !! The ones that I got are from OnlineLabels if you would like to try ! And they offer free samples that’s what I got to test ! The quality it’s great 😊
Glad to hear. Keep seeing people using other printers and it makes me feel like I made a mistake getting a HP Envy Photo Printer. I think a good way is to get some stickers from shops that print their own stickers with Canon or Epson and compare the quality of the print with yours for stickers. This way you don't even have to buy those printers yourself and get some cute stickers (and supporting small business ) at the same time. XD
The Australian equivalent of the Canon model you have there is out of stock and we can’t get them for love nor money. I’ve been searching for one for weeeeeeks.
Thank you so much for the comparison. I have a Canon Pixma 6020 tank printer, the ink last for about 2 years and I print about 100 pages per week. The problem with it is that the color for copies isn't accurate and it drives me nuts. I'm thinking of getting a printer just for my cricut stuff. Can you tell me, in your video, the prints of the paper you made, was that printing from your scanner or your computer? It would be nice to be able to make copies straight from the printer and have the colors accurate. Thanks
psi if youre going with inkjet auto delivery the printer has to be a specific model, AND you must connect it so buying a used one would be a huge NO_NO
I have the hp photo envy 7858 and I have nothing but issues!! I use the instant ink, so my ink is good. I print best quality and make sure my settings are correct. I’ve cleaned the print heads both with the printer setting and manually, I’ve aligned more times than I can count. I get lines no matter what and splotchy images when printing on waterslide paper. I’m at my wits end and looking for a new printer, even though this one is less than a year old. Your images look so perfect, I just don’t get it!!!
What about using these for heat transfer paper to the heat press on a shirt?also if I bought the epson 2720 inkjet and used up its ink ,could I then use it as a sublimation printer after that and refill with sub ink
Yes you can use these with heat transfer paper as I have here: ruclips.net/video/kpdsUuEDMvU/видео.html. You can convert any Epson EcoTank printer to a sublimation printer. I don't know about other Epson printer types.
I love my HP, I’d like printing 12X12 but it’s not mandatory, the HP prints much higher quality looking photos I’m my opinion. Thanks for the comparison.
Any suggestions for a color laser for printing stickers / outdoor vinyl primarily…i have a Brother laser and having the worst luck trying to calibrate the colors to print correct.
You've nearly convinced me to go back to HP. I've been using a pixima for years and I love it. But if there is an HP that will handle thick sticker paper, I'd love to know.
@@msh8692 I retuned my 2 day old HP yesterday because it jammed for hours. Now i have Cannon. 24 hours of hell, returning and buying. Im happy with my cannon. Im a photographer anyways. BUT i also want to make stickers and merchandise.

Great video Angie! I want to add a printer to my new cricut set up and this video was very helpful. I have only been using laser printers recently because I never liked how the ink jet prints in the past smeared when wet. Are these new ink jets the same or does it have more to do with the media you are printing on?
Angie, what is the current version of the HP Envy you have here? Is there a benefit to getting an Envy Inspire? Or a SmartTank? Looking to buy soon, but so many options. I can't find your particular model anymore and all I'm seeing are the Envy Inspire....thank you for your help - you are the true crafting KWEEN!!!
Infusible Ink is not an ink at all but rather a product line from Cricut. Sublimation ink is similar but these printers will not work with it to my knowledge. You can see where I use sublimation ink in a printer here: ruclips.net/video/-f4oH2x-Nu0/видео.html&lc=UgzN_i1HUZB1pPjMOP54AaABAg
Did you use the HP for your printable magnets video? I'd like to make some but am not sure what printer would work with them and keep a crisp, bright print.
Great video. Couple of questions: you said your HP won't print the thicker sticker paper, will it print on 110# cardstock? My old Cannon Pixma 5220 (looks a lot like your HP) would, in the larger Cannon TS9520 (yours but in black) all cardstock 65# & 110# must go through the top. Bit of a pain. 2nd thing, the larger Cannon prints 12 x 12 which is ok, but it prints 5 x 5 photo paper which i Love. My older Cannon could not do this size. What about the HP? I got the TS9520 for a Great deal on HSN and want so much to love it, but that huge back tray takes so much space! And you have to use it for Everything except plain printer paper. Would love an HP or Cannon with top auto feed (a game changer for me! Will never go back) but I have to be able to print on 110# and more than just 4x6 5x7, and 8x10 photo. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. Tia.
I will say sometimes I can get 110# to feed through but I do have issues at times. The rollers just do not like to pick up thicker papers! I have not tried 5x5 as I am not sure it will work and all I had was the HP before this video. HA!

I don't have a Mac so I have not tested these for compatibility.
I got my house for $40 and I love it 😍😍
One more question: Because it is inkjet, do I have to print a minimum amount every day or so in order for the "jets" not to plug up?? I had an HP printer 15 yrs ago and if I did not use it every day or two, the ink would dry up and I would have to buy another cartridge $$$$
Nope. I don't use mine for weeks and it is fine!
Hi, I have a hp envy 4527, last night I tried to print on transparency paper the ink on the paper wasn't very vibrant and its still wet after more than 12hrs. My question is can u print on transparency paper with this printer. Thank you
You have to buy special transparency paper that is for printing.
I so want an HP inkjet that will take heavier papers?! Im thinking a rear feed? Also love HP instant ink
I would do a rear feed!
You can print using it on printable heat transfer vinyl or heat transfer paper. It will NOT do sublimation printing. Hopefully that clears it up!
Thanks for this. I have the canon craft printer and the maximum print size is 11x13 not 12z12.
Hmmmm....mine will print a 12x12? It may print a 11x13 as well though.
That would definitely be the best of both worlds!
I just got a cricut and tried printing on my envy 5660 I bought 5 years ago and broke the rollers with the thick sticker paper. Whoops! Looking for a replacement. I might need to get the cannon or one with a rear paper feed.
Oh wow! I haven't broken it yet and I have tried to push some pretty thick things through!
Timing is great on this. My HP printer was working fine up until last week when a Windows 10 update was introduced and my printer stopped working.
Oh no!
Try going to the HP website and see it there is newer driver for your printer. Sometimes all you need to do is uninstall and then reinstall your printer.
@@sallytaylor2857 Thank you. I will definitely give this a try. Much appreciated.
Did you try using one of the thinner paper on the cannon? Maybe it will make a difference on the color?
It’s been a year and I need a printer ASAP: Do you have a preference for a printer (less than $250-300) that will have the print quality but also fit thicker papers? I ❤️ your channel and info, you’re AmaZeBaLLz!
Not really! I have a budget printer comparison here: ruclips.net/video/a0u6aP4wYP0/видео.html
I’m very inexperienced with all these cricut printing crafts. And I just wanted to know if I can print on heat transfer paper with the HP?
Yes you can.
My guess is you have Cricut sticker paper which is super thick and you can't get it to print on many printers.
What laser print do you recommend? For foiling on heavy cardstock
I don't really have a laser printer comparison.
Hi I have a hp office jet 5740 do you know if I can print stickers on this machine ? And do you know if I need special type of ink ?
You can print stickers and do not need anything special!
Thank you for doing this video. So helpful!
Will the HP 6255 work on water slide paper? I have two printers now and I can’t get either to print on the water slide paper.
This HP worked fine for waterslide - at least the brand I used.
@@AngieHolden thank you. I appreciate your help. I would also like to let you know I enjoy your videos. You give great tips. Thx 😊
I use an HP and love it thanks for comparing them hugs
You are so welcome!
For some thicker papers that works, but I spent hours trying some of my tests and some just won't work.
@@AngieHolden ohh good to know thank you !! The ones that I got are from OnlineLabels if you would like to try ! And they offer free samples that’s what I got to test ! The quality it’s great 😊
Yes! I seriously love online labels! They make a really great product!
XD
I used an hp inkjet printer for my cricut printable vinyl, and the register line started to smear. Do you know why that is?
Probably your paper setting. You might try a matte paper setting.
The Australian equivalent of the Canon model you have there is out of stock and we can’t get them for love nor money. I’ve been searching for one for weeeeeeks.
I was lucky to snag one here actually. They are definitely HOT HOT HOT!
I love ppl like you. Great video ma'am
Thank you so much!
Thanks
I never use my scanner so I have no thoughts there! Sorry!
psi if youre going with inkjet auto delivery the printer has to be a specific model, AND you must connect it so buying a used one would be a huge NO_NO
I have the hp photo envy 7858 and I have nothing but issues!!
I don't either! I had several different versions of the envy with zero issues.
Witch one do you recommend just for making stickers ?
Either one will work.
I had my HP Envy 4500 for a long, long time and bought the Canon TS8120 but found I like the HP better.
See! That is totally me!!
I love my HP, I’d like printing 12X12 but it’s not mandatory, the HP prints much higher quality looking photos I’m my opinion. Thanks for the comparison.
I totally agree!
Any suggestions for a color laser for printing stickers / outdoor vinyl primarily…i have a Brother laser and having the worst luck trying to calibrate the colors to print correct.
I am not familiar with laser printers! Sorry!
I also have an HP inkjet printer and was wondering what paper settings you use for the printable vinyl? 😊
Matte paper setting.
How about buying ink from where ever you want from the source you like?
You definitely can.
what is the newest version of the Pixma? I try looking it up online and cannot figure it out!
Not sure!
You've nearly convinced me to go back to HP. I've been using a pixima for years and I love it. But if there is an HP that will handle thick sticker paper, I'd love to know.
I haven't found one yet and I have had several. I am sure there is one out there!
My cricut printable vinyl jams in my hp 7155. Do you know if this a regular thing?
@@msh8692 I retuned my 2 day old HP yesterday because it jammed for hours. Now i have Cannon. 24 hours of hell, returning and buying. Im happy with my cannon. Im a photographer anyways. BUT i also want to make stickers and merchandise.

Can I use a hp envy printer 5055 to use iron on printable
Yes you can!
@@AngieHolden thank you
I have hp envy newest model and the quality is not good I’m having to buy a different one... quality is just not there especially on blacks looks dull...
Thank you for the info.
Great video Angie! I want to add a printer to my new cricut set up and this video was very helpful. I have only been using laser printers recently because I never liked how the ink jet prints in the past smeared when wet. Are these new ink jets the same or does it have more to do with the media you are printing on?
I don't have any smearing issues but I do think proper media does help.
can i use this printer for heat transfer paper?
Yes. See this video: ruclips.net/video/kpdsUuEDMvU/видео.html
Thank you so much for this! I've learned a lot but is there a video on what kind of paper to get for the hp? I make t-shirts and need iron on.
Try this: ruclips.net/video/ujNoOjmQyjo/видео.html
Angie, what is the current version of the HP Envy you have here? Is there a benefit to getting an Envy Inspire? Or a SmartTank? Looking to buy soon, but so many options. I can't find your particular model anymore and all I'm seeing are the Envy Inspire....thank you for your help - you are the true crafting KWEEN!!!
I have loved the Envy Photo series. I don't have any of the inspire series.
Thank you soooo much! And just to be clear, the Envy doesn't ONLY produce well on photos, I saw the quality on cardstock and loved it.
Oh correct. It does a great job on all prints in my opinion.
Awesome - thank you so much!
I’m trying to print on the printable bingo but the ink keeps bleeding? What settings should I have it on so that the ink sticks an not bleeds?
Can you tell me what brand you have? I have never had an issue with ink bleeding. What does the package look like or say?
Do both printers handle the Cricut sticker paper?
I have found very few printers will handle their sticker paper. It has to be one with a rear feed.
Hi thank you for your amazing video. Very helpful. Much appreciated. Would the hp printer take infusable ink?
Infusible Ink is not an ink at all but rather a product line from Cricut. Sublimation ink is similar but these printers will not work with it to my knowledge. You can see where I use sublimation ink in a printer here: ruclips.net/video/-f4oH2x-Nu0/видео.html&lc=UgzN_i1HUZB1pPjMOP54AaABAg
Did you try adding the Canon ICC color properties to your machine then printing? (thinking I’m saying that right)
ICC profiles are generally used for sublimation.
Did you use the HP for your printable magnets video? I'd like to make some but am not sure what printer would work with them and keep a crisp, bright print.
I used the HP shown here!
HA!
Currently looking for the best sticker paper for the hp envy 7155. Any suggestions? Thanks for the detailed explanation 🤗

I have an HP envy 4500 series, would that work for the waterslide transfer paper?
Also is there a certain ink I need to use? Thank you
Waterslide should work on any inkjet.
Thank you for this very valuable comparison. I have the HP Envy, the 70-something, the newest one of your printer's series.💜
Yay! Hope you love it!
Great, detailed info! Thanks for the measurements of the machines. It is important.
You bet!
Can you print pictures on this one. What kind of printer do you use for sublimation
Yes you can print pictures. Here is my video for a sublimation printer: ruclips.net/video/-f4oH2x-Nu0/видео.html&lc=UgwU5rHIBRtf2zFHrxl4AaABAg
Can I use any heat transfer vinyl or is it a special kind thanks
With a printer, you would use a printable HTV.
