That’s why we have this PRE-MMA2019 and POST-MMA2019 experience, like your life changed right there.. i couldn’t even count how many times i watched it and yet i still get awestruck by how amazing our guys are. they are beyond this world really. the whole intro of Dionysus, from V until their ending part, esp the remix of N.O. so so so good. the whole production is beyond amazing.. the first time i watched this i like couldn’t even process what happened with me.. my whole day became a day of figuring out what just happened.. 😅💜
❣️Jimin’s solo performance, wearing a modernized hanbok just fastened by ties only, had many different dance elements in it! Including the barrel leaps taken from Korean dance elements, some martial arts elements, (trained for 8 yrs in various forms w/blackbelt in Taekwondo), & of course contemporary dance. Also, equally ever so stunningly outstanding, was Jimin's scarf work, which is alone so hard to master, without getting that ever so thin veil of a scarf all tangled! Jimin somehow was able to make the scarf one with himself, using it as an extension, even at one point when he did that amazing jump leap straight up the scarf becoming his wings!! Jimin's whole performance was so amazingly stunningly beautiful. Just so effortlessly breathtakingly mesmerizing to see!! Though the other members did a version of their solo performances for benefit of the live audiences, for the broadcast version as seen here, viewer see the prerecorded version, that was prerecorded the day before, since especially JK’s performance in water with that heavy tank that weighed a ton wouldn’t be able to maneuver for live audience, as well as some of the other effects seen like for Mikrokosmos, also the part with the horses was obviously prerecorded as a safeguard for the horses. It also gave a chance for BTS come up for air as well as give them time to change. Jimin was the only one who didn’t have the benefit of prerecorded VCR, which meant that for his solo performance by the broadcasted version, viewers saw Jimin perform live only. While the broadcast version showed for rest of members the prerecorded version. But once again the live audience did get an opportunity to see BTS members do a version of their solos.
❣️This was from the annual Melon Music Awards, a Korean award show the equivalent to the BBMA’s. BTS swept the awards, thus closed the award show, though many other artists did indeed performed beforehand. The cost of the production for BTS entertainment company BigHit, was over 500K dollars, and all the in-house production team of BigHit started planning it over half a yr beforehand! Also most of the rehearsal time that BTS had was while they were touring worldwide. But they all were quite into doing this, and somehow managed to fit in the rehearsal like they did the yr before. All the solo performances were prerecorded live with smaller audience the day before, with exception to Jimin’s solo performance, who only performed live only, without the benefit of prerecorded VCR, since there was no way to have these stage sets and tank pool of water let alone have JK who was performing the dance in water get dried and change clothes beforehand! BTS did also perform a version of their solos, while the broadcasted version saw the VCR version filmed day before. The only one who performed live only without benefit of VCR being shown,for the broadcasted version, was Jimin, who shows here being the phenomeno breathingly amazing professional dancer which he was before even signing on to BTS. Also certain songs like Mikrokosmos, as well as beginning part of RM’s Persona, was performed live beforehand and also prerecorded so they could also allow for the special effects that only people who saw the broadcast on TV in South Korea or had it stream worldwide could see that version. Also the part with the live horses was filmed beforehand without an audience.
I reacted exactly like you the first time I watched it 😂😂 What part blew my mind??? They were blowing it during the whole performance! My jaw almost fell to the floor!! - V's beauty representing Apollo, - - Jin's absolutely dominating the war on his Trojan horse representing Mars.. - Jimin's elegance while dancing I need you representing Afrodite - Suga's fierceness, of course he had to be Hephaestus - Jungkook, my adorable Poseidon - Hobi what a perfect Zeus! - RM, the leader of the party... Dionysus. Yeah... as you said, they are gods!!and the Western needs to learn a lot from Asian events... woow, they know how to prepare big stages!! Oh! Did you notice that the break dance was N.O.'s?
Every time I watch this performance [and I've watched it countless times] I cry - my heart honestly swells with insane joy, love and pride as though I were watching my own kids up there. When you think about the way they were snubbed way back [arriving at venues and the press lowering their cameras as they walked up the carpet] - to their debut [and still getting treated badly] -their first daesang - and all that followed - and then this insane performance....lordy what an insane journey. These guys are totally magic - they are not just super charged talented - they rise even higher than that because they are 7 exemplary human beings. BTS was meant to be - they are lightning in a bottle [magic] I am so happy I found them several years ago - so happy I am Army - so immensely proud of all they have done and will continue to do...BORAHAE

Well, MasterGo, we did tell you it would blow your mind. And that you would have to keep reminding yourself that it's an awards show. It's truly amazing, and something you will never forget. I'm glad you got to see it.💜 And while the whole thing was amazing, and all the guys were incredible, it was Jimin who captured my attention the most. Both his incredible solo dance (that always takes my breath away with its sheer beauty), and his intensive stare when they are all sitting at the table (boring a whole right through your soul). it's amazing 💜😍

I lost count how many times I have watched this. I love seeing new reactors response and it is lovely and never fails. BTS only knows how to give a 1000 percent and their dancers, etc also give that much. I loved how they showcased each member. Thankyou for a heartfelt reaction. I really loved 2018 MAMA awards too because they showcased their own traditional culture in instruments, dance, and traditional attire. I thought that was very special. I was so overwhelmed when I first saw this, I stared at the screen with my mouth open in awe for the whole time. How nice of BTS to let an award show happen amidst their concert 😂 My fav part was Jimin's dance. Out of this world 💜💜💜
I can't even tell you how many times I've watched the MMA 2019 performance. It's beyond insane. Dionysus is absolutely freaking insane! I've watched a ton as well.
My best part was the transition between Jimin and Suga, and the synchronization of the dance when they are sitting and dancing with their arms. 💜And, of course, the individual presentation of the seven.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I’ve seen this several times since “discovering” BTS quite by accident. I’d seen theses shocking singers on Carpool karaoke...Who IS THAT HIGHVOICE???? (jK) Korea? I know virtually nothing about South Korea that wasn’t taught in a class about their ongoing war about a million years ago in school. I have been singing dancing and performing since I was 3. My degrees are in music. I was bored to death of pop culture. And have NEVER been a fan of any group or person apart from Thomas Hampson, NY Met etc , Music is what I do. And I’m so old. But watching this award ceremony, I had to actually remind myself to BREATHE. Omg omg who are theses people? Watching it “with” you again, I just want to cry. Their dedicated work and years of living their dreams into reality is deeply moving. Being unimpressed with the studio made stars of who’s your daddy Western charts, auto tune, looks right so actual vocal talent completely optional ...BTS.. I doubt there will be another group who will ever captivate me again. I’m ARMY, western and old AF.
I remember when I saw it for the first time, it's still the best performance I've ever seen at an awards show. And the horse part made it clear to me that anything can be expected from BTS. I also remember that on Yoongi's program he apologized because because of presentations like this the level of demand increased a lot for the other Kpop groups.
No matter how many times I see this performance, I still have the exact same reaction. It blows my mind how incredible this was and each time I watch it I see something new that I didn't notice the previous times watching it. These are what you call true artists, someone(s) who put their all into their art. The amount of time and practice this took to get it to where its at... Even if your not a fan there is no way someone can't appreciate the art in this and the effort it took.
THEIR PERFORMANCES IS ART ITSELF AND THIS IS JUST A TASTE OF WHAT THEY CONCERTS ARE LIKE. THE CONCERTS THEY HAVE ARE ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECES. THEY ARE INCREDIBLE PERFORMERS!!! THEIR VOICES IS TOP TIER!!!
For the Dionysis performance the choreo had to be modified because V and JK rolled over the desk but V hurt his shoulder and there's a spin to dive move and Suga's shoulder didn't allow so they did knelt/knee instead but the original choreo is boss so 🔥
This is definitely my favorite awards show performance. It started awesome and each song made it better and better. When they brought the horses out I was floored, and then they yet did Dionysus and the dubstep routine. They pulled out all the stops in this performance, letting their competition know what a high mark they would have to beat to win. They turned the awards snow into their own concert. Did you see all the ARMY bombs (light sticks)? After this performance, light sticks were banned from the audience of the show. (Supposedly to not show favoritism, but it was really because of ARMY showing up for BTS.) this was my absolute favorite, but 2018 was also very awesome!
The symbolism in this performance is so over the top that Bookish Theories had to do a two part analysis to cover it. But I think she did the best job and it would be good if you could watch it. No award show does this. It was covered in the Sunday "Culture and Entertainment' sections of the largest city newspaper here in the US. You could probably find them on google. Their individual performances represented Greek Gods. There was an entire story here. RM as Dionysus was beyond marvelous.

Maybe some people don't know but all the music in this whole performance are part of BTS songs. That's why the audience reacts when they hear first notes of every one of them.
With their stage interpretation of their song Dionysus, BTS became 7 Greek gods: Jin as Athena, Suga as Hephaestus, JHope as Zeus, V as Apollo, Jimin as Artemis, JK as Poseidon, and RM as Dionysus. Was it over the top - YES! ....spectacular - YES! ....something never seen before - YES! Did they give Army what we deserved for free at an awards show - YES! This is why BTS is beloved by Army, because they put their dedicated fanbase, Army, first!!!! 💜 💜

Mind blowing, eh?! I've watched reactors watching this so many times and they are always in awe of the fact this is an award show and the performances and the stages are so amazing. Not all of it was live. ARMYs who were there will tell you which bits were. One bit that was, was Jimin's scarf dance. Every time I watch it I hold my breath in case he gets caught up in the scarf even though I know he doesn't. It was such a tricky thing to pull off. Dionysus was a tour de force. Dancing on moving staging, falling back into the arms of the dancers, it's all totally incredible. J-Hope is the master of this performance. Those leopards were fantastic props. Boy in Love is one of their early ones so there's a lot of growling. You could see Tae stop singing to show that they're not lip synching. Mikrokosmos is a balm to the soul. It was so beautifully staged. Western award shows don't hold a candle to the Asian ones. When they performed, Butter, on The Grammys they brought a little of this to the stage. If you haven't watched it then please do. I love your enthusiasm.

The boys have come a long way from performing on the Red Carpet rather than the main stage - yes it actually happened along with not having a proper dressing room. In case it's not written elsewhere but most of the solo stages were pre-recorded including the opening sequence with the horses to make sure everyone was safe. However the members did come out to dance some of their solos while people watching online saw what you watched. They're also very sneaky about giving us hints about upcoming albums and I think JK's solo in the water especially with the way he laid at the end was a nod toward Black Swan. That insane dance break was from their previous song N.O. which we now know ON was named after in part. Let's keep in mind they had to practice for this showcase while being on TOUR. I don't care if their music isn't to you taste specifically (generally speaking) but their artistry is on another level. Fin.
No one knows the true meaning of the word synchronization until they see this performance of Dionysus! Every performance of that song is amazing but this was next next next level! And the thing that was most mind blowing is the amount of energy they threw out... at the very end of all of that production. They had to have been completely exhausted. And this was everything. That’s why we have this PRE-MMA2019 and POST-MMA2019 experience, like your life changed right there.. i couldn’t even count how many times i watched it and yet i still get awestruck by how amazing our guys are. they are beyond this world really. the whole intro of Dionysus, from V until their ending part, esp the remix of N.O. so so so good. the whole production is beyond amazing.. the first time i watched this i like couldn’t even process what happened with me.. my whole day became a day of figuring out what just happened.. 😅💜
❣️Jimin’s solo performance, wearing a modernized hanbok just fastened by ties only, had many different dance elements in it! Including the barrel leaps taken from Korean dance elements, some martial arts elements, (trained for 8 yrs in various forms w/blackbelt in Taekwondo), & of course contemporary dance. Also, equally ever so stunningly outstanding, was Jimin's scarf work, which is alone so hard to master, without getting that ever so thin veil of a scarf all tangled! Jimin somehow was able to make the scarf one with himself, using it as an extension, even at one point when he did that amazing jump leap straight up the scarf becoming his wings!! Jimin's whole performance was so amazingly stunningly beautiful. Just so effortlessly breathtakingly mesmerizing to see!! Though the other members did a version of their solo performances for benefit of the live audiences, for the broadcast version as seen here, viewer see the prerecorded version, that was prerecorded the day before, since especially JK’s performance in water with that heavy tank that weighed a ton wouldn’t be able to maneuver for live audience, as well as some of the other effects seen like for Mikrokosmos, also the part with the horses was obviously prerecorded as a safeguard for the horses. It also gave a chance for BTS come up for air as well as give them time to change. Jimin was the only one who didn’t have the benefit of prerecorded VCR, which meant that for his solo performance by the broadcasted version, viewers saw Jimin perform live only. While the broadcast version showed for rest of members the prerecorded version. But once again the live audience did get an opportunity to see BTS members do a version of their solos.
❣️This was from the annual Melon Music Awards, a Korean award show the equivalent to the BBMA’s. BTS swept the awards, thus closed the award show, though many other artists did indeed performed beforehand. The cost of the production for BTS entertainment company BigHit, was over 500K dollars, and all the in-house production team of BigHit started planning it over half a yr beforehand! Also most of the rehearsal time that BTS had was while they were touring worldwide. But they all were quite into doing this, and somehow managed to fit in the rehearsal like they did the yr before. All the solo performances were prerecorded live with smaller audience the day before, with exception to Jimin’s solo performance, who only performed live only, without the benefit of prerecorded VCR, since there was no way to have these stage sets and tank pool of water let alone have JK who was performing the dance in water get dried and change clothes beforehand! BTS did also perform a version of their solos, while the broadcasted version saw the VCR version filmed day before. The only one who performed live only without benefit of VCR being shown,for the broadcasted version, was Jimin, who shows here being the phenomeno breathingly amazing professional dancer which he was before even signing on to BTS. Also certain songs like Mikrokosmos, as well as beginning part of RM’s Persona, was performed live beforehand and also prerecorded so they could also allow for the special effects that only people who saw the broadcast on TV in South Korea or had it stream worldwide could see that version. Also the part with the live horses was filmed beforehand without an audience.

Every time I watch this performance [and I've watched it countless times] I cry - my heart honestly swells with insane joy, love and pride as though I were watching my own kids up there. When you think about the way they were snubbed way back [arriving at venues and the press lowering their cameras as they walked up the carpet] - to their debut [and still getting treated badly] -their first daesang - and all that followed - and then this insane performance....lordy what an insane journey. These guys are totally magic - they are not just super charged talented - they rise even higher than that because they are 7 exemplary human beings. BTS was meant to be - they are lightning in a bottle [magic]

And while the whole thing was amazing, and all the guys were incredible, it was Jimin who captured my attention the most. Both his incredible solo dance (that always takes my breath away with its sheer beauty), and his intensive stare when they are all sitting at the table (boring a whole right through your soul). it's amazing 💜😍

I lost count how many times I have watched this. I love seeing new reactors response and it is lovely and never fails. BTS only knows how to give a 1000 percent and their dancers, etc also give that much. I loved how they showcased each member. Thankyou for a heartfelt reaction. I really loved 2018 MAMA awards too because they showcased their own traditional culture in instruments, dance, and traditional attire. I thought that was very special. The whole performance is my favorite. My mind was blown like yours. I’ve watched it numerous times and it never gets old. I was so overwhelmed when I first saw this, I stared at the screen with my mouth open in awe for the whole time. How nice of BTS to let an award show happen amidst their concert 😂 My fav part was Jimin's dance. Out of this world 💜💜💜

I can't even tell you how many times I've watched the MMA 2019 performance. It's beyond insane. Dionysus is absolutely freaking insane! I've watched a ton as well.

My best part was the transition between Jimin and Suga, and the synchronization of the dance when they are sitting and dancing with their arms. 💜And, of course, the individual presentation of the seven.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I’ve seen this several times since “discovering” BTS quite by accident. I’d seen theses shocking singers on Carpool karaoke...Who IS THAT HIGHVOICE???? (jK) Korea? I know virtually nothing about South Korea that wasn’t taught in a class about their ongoing war about a million years ago in school. I have been singing dancing and performing since I was 3. My degrees are in music. I was bored to death of pop culture. And have NEVER been a fan of any group or person apart from Thomas Hampson, NY Met etc , Music is what I do. And I’m so old. But watching this award ceremony, I had to actually remind myself to BREATHE. Omg omg who are theses people? Watching it “with” you again, I just want to cry. Their dedicated work and years of living their dreams into reality is deeply moving. Being unimpressed with the studio made stars of who’s your daddy Western charts, auto tune, looks right so actual vocal talent completely optional ...BTS.. I doubt there will be another group who will ever captivate me again. I’m ARMY, western and old AF.
As each solo performance is shown a light comes down.. These lights represent a part of the galaxy congratulations but I forget which one exactly

I remember when I saw it for the first time, it's still the best performance I've ever seen at an awards show.
And the horse part made it clear to me that anything can be expected from BTS.
I also remember that on Yoongi's program he apologized because because of presentations like this the level of demand increased a lot for the other Kpop groups.
No matter how many times I see this performance, I still have the exact same reaction. It blows my mind how incredible this was and each time I watch it I see something new that I didn't notice the previous times watching it. These are what you call true artists, someone(s) who put their all into their art. The amount of time and practice this took to get it to where its at... Even if your not a fan there is no way someone can't appreciate the art in this and the effort it took.
THEIR PERFORMANCES IS ART ITSELF AND THIS IS JUST A TASTE OF WHAT THEY CONCERTS ARE LIKE. THE CONCERTS THEY HAVE ARE ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECES. THEY ARE INCREDIBLE PERFORMERS!!! THEIR VOICES IS TOP TIER!!!
For the Dionysis performance the choreo had to be modified because V and JK rolled over the desk but V hurt his shoulder and there's a spin to dive move and Suga's shoulder didn't allow so they did knelt/knee instead but the original choreo is boss so 🔥
BTS IS THE BEST!!! Jaw dropping performance that no boy group can match! Love them so much!
This is definitely my favorite awards show performance. It started awesome and each song made it better and better. When they brought the horses out I was floored, and then they yet did Dionysus and the dubstep routine. They pulled out all the stops in this performance, letting their competition know what a high mark they would have to beat to win. They turned the awards snow into their own concert. Did you see all the ARMY bombs (light sticks)? After this performance, light sticks were banned from the audience of the show. (Supposedly to not show favoritism, but it was really because of ARMY showing up for BTS.) this was my absolute favorite, but 2018 was also very awesome!
The symbolism in this performance is so over the top that Bookish Theories had to do a two part analysis to cover it. But I think she did the best job and it would be good if you could watch it. No award show does this. It was covered in the Sunday "Culture and Entertainment' sections of the largest city newspaper here in the US. You could probably find them on google. Their individual performances represented Greek Gods. There was an entire story here. RM as Dionysus was beyond marvelous.

It is the most insane awards show performance ever. It is so very very over the top. Also filled with sooo much symbolism it’s ridiculous. This was their big way to sit above the he whole K-pop industry that had treated them so badly. Greek gods above the rat 😂😂😂

Mind blowing, eh?! I've watched reactors watching this so many times and they are always in awe of the fact this is an award show and the performances and the stages are so amazing. Not all of it was live. ARMYs who were there will tell you which bits were. One bit that was, was Jimin's scarf dance. Every time I watch it I hold my breath in case he gets caught up in the scarf even though I know he doesn't. It was such a tricky thing to pull off. Dionysus was a tour de force. Dancing on moving staging, falling back into the arms of the dancers, it's all totally incredible. J-Hope is the master of this performance. Those leopards were fantastic props. Boy in Love is one of their early ones so there's a lot of growling. You could see Tae stop singing to show that they're not lip synching. Mikrokosmos is a balm to the soul. It was so beautifully staged. Western award shows don't hold a candle to the Asian ones. When they performed, Butter, on The Grammys they brought a little of this to the stage. If you haven't watched it then please do. I love your enthusiasm.

U know what.. i declare myself a 46 year old woman army with my 14yrs old daughter who recommend them to me after i feel really down after my husband passed away due to covid on 2021. Ive been watching their video milion time including their video reaction. From the day i open my eyes ealy in the morning till bed time, i will search all this boys video performance, or about their journey. Watching tbem give me happiness and strength. Love ur reaction.

The boys have come a long way from performing on the Red Carpet rather than the main stage - yes it actually happened along with not having a proper dressing room. In case it's not written elsewhere but most of the solo stages were pre-recorded including the opening sequence with the horses to make sure everyone was safe. However the members did come out to dance some of their solos while people watching online saw what you watched. They're also very sneaky about giving us hints about upcoming albums and I think JK's solo in the water especially with the way he laid at the end was a nod toward Black Swan. That insane dance break was from their previous song N.O. which we now know ON was named after in part. Let's keep in mind they had to practice for this showcase while being on TOUR. I don't care if their music isn't to you taste specifically (generally speaking) but their artistry is on another level. Fin.

No one knows the true meaning of the word synchronization until they see this performance of Dionysus! Every performance of that song is amazing but this was next next next level! And the thing that was most mind blowing is the amount of energy they threw out... at the very end of all of that production. They had to have been completely exhausted. And this was everything.
