I don't have a complex set up, only using a Boss DR-3 drum machine, but these tutorials on EQ'ing and compression have made a huge world of difference on my drums and mixes. Thanks so much!
I've been searching for quite a while for simple, succinct Drum Mixing, EQ, & Compression videos with limited success. As someone who is very green to audio mixing (especially for percussion) but who has a basic understanding of frequencies, decibels & music theory, this series was extremely helpful to me. Thank you - if anyone else has any suggestions for straight-forward percussion mixing videos - especially for Orchestral Percussion - I would love to hear them.
Thanks very much. Loved all 11 of these. It helped me with my mixes, I just started on my own. Keep this up. Any help for a kick mic on the outside of the bass drum would be great.
Hey man good video. It really gave me a little more insight on understanding how the compressor actually works. The only question I have is why did you use the 3.1 ratio vs any other?
hate to be that guy but i feel that the difference here is really miniscule. its a tiny difference in attack and when you hear it with the full kit its diminished even further. by the time you add guitars and bass i just feel that the time spent achieving this difference of 1-2% is going to have been wasted. not hating but i just expected somewhat more dramatic results...

Great job! Very clear. I like the trick! I'm using it now on all my drum tracks.

What he doesn't show is the part where he uses sound replacer to replace that awful kick.
lol
dannyowashere

This guy is a cloun btw
annoying fucking intro but apart from that cool video
ATTACK 25-30 ms, Relase 50 ms, Ratio 4:1, 5:1 GR up to 10 db + waves L2 to boost RMS -12. DONE.
Terrible video. We can't even hear the kick.
THANX man need it that...
