Hi everyone, I am the inventor of the USA made Grease Joint Rejuvenator. The review was very good, however the tool was not used correctly and is why he only got about half the fittings to take grease. This is a this is a common problem that we run into all of the time. The reason is, it seems like such a simple tool to use so people don’t even read the instructions. They just put oil in it of some kind, some people even use grease which does not work and they do not get results. OK do you want results, please let me explain.
First always turn the tool upside down and Burp any air out of the tool, he did explain that. If not burped the piston will bounce back! Next fill with a light oil even break fluid. Next install tool and only tapping is necessary. You must pump enough oil in through the Zerk fitting to penetrate the hardened dry grease in the joint! Yes the joint is the problem, NOT the Zerk Fitting! It’s the hardened grease trapped in the bearing or pin joint. That’s why some people say to use a blow torch, it loosens the hardened grease, but such an drastic approach is not necessary, hence the grease joint rejuvenator. The amount of taps depends upon the circumference of the pin and the hard and dryness of the grease, not the Zerk! Each tap of the hammer moves the light oil through the clog. It may even take two applications! The point is, read the directions and follow them carefully. If you purchase one of my Grease Joint Rejuvenators and use it correctly and do not like it, we will refund your money, it’s “satisfaction guaranteed. It’s a very cool tool, no one who greases their equipment should be without! God Bless and God speed!
P.S. loosen but do not fully unscrew the grease coupler, it’s not easy to get back together!

I use old brake fluid in mine or dirty diesel fuel. I use three or four times before trying a grease gun

I have one of those and I like it. If it doesn't break the grease, I usually replace the zert and then have good success. I use marvel mystery oil.

i have the same tool that i used to on a pivot tube on an outboard. combined with heat, it did work shoving grease and light oils in the assembly but in the end I had to fix it properly and disassemble the the thing into its major components and replace corroded bushings. I replaced the coupler with a clamp on still like you find on a grease gun and seemed to hold up fairly well.

Heat, and/or pull the zero and clean. If it still does not fill the cleaned out pocket with wd40 or carb cleaner and have even stood on the grease gun if possible. Make sure you over grease to clean out the old crud and material you used to cut through the crud. Use to change attachments all the time before quick disconnects that make it so easily. You name the size.

Those work if the problem is the fitting is locked up ... but if everything behind the fitting is solid too, there's just no helping it. Just too much surface area to spread the pressure over

Remove the zerk then Chip the flux off of a welding rod. And heat it up, then poke it in to the hole

I just remove the fitting and shove a small peice of metal inside the hole and clean out the dirt and whatnot and put it back together and that usually fixes fittings that won't take grease

Disassembly, cleaning and reassembly is the only good way to "rejuvenate" a greaseable joint. Something I've noticed on a lot of things that need greasing is, they always put the fitting in the wrong place on the shaft where it's either inaccessible or difficult to access at best, and it's always in a place that has maximum tension on it to impede the grease from entering the housing. Lots of times, things need to be jacked up to relieve pressure on shafts, trunnions, etc.
I wouldn't buy or use one of those tools as it will just break something else.

they arent meant to "fix" grease fittings... theyre only meant to unclog impacted fittings. and for that purpose it works amazing.

Agree. I clean the fitting and where it is screwed into to. I also spray penetrative fluid before replacing the fitting.

Feel this tool is unnecessary heating with torch then a standard grease gun usually works if its not plug behind the zurk if that's the case take it apart and clean.

I've had limited success with these. I've had better luck with the hydraulic pump from my porta power. Not the hand pump, the air powered pump. Had a hose made up at a local heavy equipment repair shop. Mine is 1/4 npt on end that fits pump and a female 1/8 npt swivel on the other. Use a short steel nipple threaded into where the zerk fitting goes.
