I'm loving the progress. I have a few videos on my channel of my 1975 914 also. Where did you get the replacement jack points? Those look way nicer than the ones I've seen from Pelican Parts. Keep up the good work!

    Hi
    Nice job...
I have the same car, and the same rust problems and I'm struggling with the welds
I would like to get some informations on the equipment you use for your welding, gas, thickness of the welding wire, intensity etc..
    Thanks in advance

Hi! I'm using a Titanium 125 gasless flux core welder with .030 wire. It's about the most basic welder you can get. It takes a while to figure out the speed and heat but for 18-20 gauge steel i have the heat turned down almost to the minimum and the wire speed about halfway.

One year newer than my 74 Dasher/Fox wagon was.

Probably should have welded the jack tube to the inner rail prior to installing the cover/reinforcement. The way you have it now won't support the car with the back portion of the jack tube floating in the breeze.

Good job spotting that. That was one thing I had meant to do but forgot!

The welding looks pretty bad. Is it road safe ?

The sheet metal is thicker than original and the welds are penetrating fine
