Haha I’m a random person who is watching this video. I tried it in my front yard, fun and relaxing. My front yard looks like a desert with mild vegetation and I made a trench with bark. I got some basic photos to start with but I know I’ll do it again soon
100% agree with what you say about the toy photography community. So special and wholesome and helpful! And toy photography is for everyone, and anyone can do it!! Also - as someone who also lives in an apartment complex, do you ever get any anxiety shooting where people can see lol? How do I get over the fact that people might be watching??
I’m so glad you agree! Such an amazing group of people ☺️ I actually filmed this video about a year ago, but when I lived in the apartment complex, I was super nervous for a long time to shoot in front of everyone. Eventually I learned to move it! People usually are genuinely curious and interested in what you’re doing! It’s a great opportunity to show them and introduce them to toy photography! I always keep business cards on me to give out if someone asks 😂
I’m so glad you mAde this video. I’ve been trying to get into toy photography and I’ve been gathering equipment but I never feel that my pictures are worth posting or good enough. I guess it’s all about just doing what you want and doing the best you can with what you have. Thank you for the inspiration to at least start believing in myself. BTW I’m old enough to be your father so that also plays a part in me not feeling like I should be doing this let alone playing with toys which I have a lot of lol.
Doesn’t matter how old we are, toy photography is for us! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video 🙏 I hope you post your photos soon, I’d love to see them! And I’m sure they are awesome! Thanks for watching!!
I have been into photography for years now. I even played around with toy photography before it was a thing. I was inspired by your videos to do more with my photography. I love that you have helped make it "a thing"!😆 Keep inspiring others like myself! Great video as always. Thank you!
When ppl ask me how and why I got into toy photography. I always tell them it's cause I seen a picture of an AEW figure I had and said I can do that. Then found Jared's page and been hooked every since. And here I am a full year later making some amazing ass photos. And actually growing a following. And it's mostly if not entirely thanks to Jared!
why not instead use the clone tool, after everything was shot, take another shot where the photo has no figures, that way i just put the opacity to 50% then erase where the figure will show and keep the wire behind the layer, that sometimes makes the work easier for me. than having quite a challenge on using clone stamp. but sir i been watching you tutorial for awhile now and it give me more insights in this hobby, thank you.
Great Shots, that was great for toy photographers like me who are just starting out really, but thanks to your tutorials I’ve come a long way since about this time last year when I started out!
Just starting out with this I've got a long way to go to get anywhere near the quality you produce. Hoping I can get better in a year or two. Keep up the great work, always look forward to new content.
Hey my friend! Sometimes you can bend a wire clothes hanger to use as a figure stand! In this video I use one! Best Tips for Indoor Toy Photography ruclips.net/video/xsfp54L6RbI/видео.html
How do you keep your figures maintained during all the shooting? I’m sure they get dirty, how do you keep them from being ruined, especially the expensive ones?
? But first, Love this idea. I’ve been paralyzed from a department injury last few years and got bk into collecting figures. Am always just taking the figures I get and just taking pics of em off my shelf but seeing this makes me see I can do so much better all cause of those before and after shots. Don’t go nuts taking pictures of stuff but when do I def like it to look amazing if can, even of my five children or cats and dog. All got is a iPad Pro 2021 11 inch rt now, but for that ?. What editing app for apple iphone/iPad would u recommend me getting that is not a monthly subscription preferred but also isn’t to much $ to buy off their store for someone to get that offers the type of editing u do here. Like how u can blend in things and take out and put in pictures easy like u did on ur pc. I have Tried many apps in past few years ago, a lot of free and even bought some bk then but all they ever do is change the color, saturation, fine etc. almost same that apple ipad gives people for free on their normal set up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Watched your some videos in past but seeing your before and after pics from how I started and ur pics look like how mine do now just basic pose in a house etc to the awesomeness dynamic pics u do now. Yeah. I got nothing but time to try and learn something new at age 50 laid up in a bed most times nowadays. Shame only live 10 miles from beach I used to surf at but never make it out there anymore cause issue moving there and getting help. But maybe this hobbie if get into it may get me little re motivated to get bk out there. Sorry long comment
Hey there, sorry to hear about your injury! I’m glad you’re doing a great hobby though with the time you have! 🙏 I’m actually posting a video tomorrow about an awesome free editing app called GIMP. Definitely make sure to watch that one! It’s a great app! A great editing app on your phone is one called snapseed. Definitely recommend! Thanks for all your support! Good luck on your toy photography journey!
Thanks for watching! I definitely recommend the lens I used in the video! I always have the gear linked in the description too 👊 here it is! Lens: amzn.to/3STHp83
I'm ok with the hardware side and imaginative side of things but haven't got to grips with Photoshop. It's too easy to just tweak and crop on Lightroom. I'll get there. . . Thank you.
Great video and fantastic picture. Now I'm curious how you might tackle Funko Pops, since most of them have a static/predifined pose. If you could shed some light on how you'd take them on, that would be great.
Hey thanks so much! I’ve actually done some work with Funko Pips before, and I actually really love to shoot them! Not having to pose them actually cuts out a huge step of the process, which makes things easier 😂 I did a video on it here actually! I shot Star Wars Funko Pops for Disney! ruclips.net/video/Nz5M0j49r8I/видео.html
Hey thanks so much for the support! 🙏 I use Instagram to display the submissions during the streams, so I can only take shots posted on Instagram right now. Sorry man! 🙇♂️
I definitely recommend instagram! It’s not like a gated community that you need to join or anything 😆 just start posting your toy photos on Instagram and start interacting with the some other toy photographers!!
I have a question can you do a horror scene we’re all the horror characters like Michael Myers, Jason, Voorhees Leatherface are all interacting with each other and having fun
whern i told my older brothers i was gonna do toy photography they laughed and said i would be trash so i found this video helpful and i want to be a full time photgraphyer in ten more years ill be a 19 yr old who can his own figure(:
I hope a bunch of random people see this and then get into toy photography themselves. Just like I did almost 3 and half years ago.
I love that!! That’s what I’m hoping for as well 🙇♂️
