I'm not even sure what formation or style of play we were going for at the end. About 8 defenders, Saka playing in goal probably - it was pure chaos and we won from a long throw and a magical bicycle kick.

Tony was epic, heald up the ball, suggested to walker about the headed flick on, the throwing before the goal, and then assisted kane! My take on England is that they're playing to survive, with defensive and risk-averse tactics. Every team we've played against has locked down the midfield in front of their area and nullified any attacking threat from England. It's not a proper 4231, it's 433 with 2 DMs. Portugal play a proper 4231 with 3 players working as interchangeable No10s and fullbacks providing the overlap. England need a left footed LB in there, to put a winger on each wing (surprise) and give whoever is next to Rice the freedom to go forward. It's so stagnant in midfield we lack control...
