couple of critiques. Maintain the same chart type and graphics. If companies you are comparing have a major color, you might want to use those colors. Wow. Intel is making gains!!! Come on Intel!!! Bring us an option with more horsepower!!! God knows they have unlimited R&D budgets and they can compete at the high end with anyone. They're clearly working very hard on the software side of things. I hope Intel goes all in. Another great review!!! To the point. Review suggestion: I'd love to see a 4080 Super and a 7900 XTX overclocked to the max, in a fight to the death on pure rasterization performance. What's the best $1k video card? Overclocked, are either of those 2 cards even in the same ballpark as a reference 4090, or is it pointless to even try to get to that performance level with a crazy overclock?
Thanks!! Great idea, the only challenge is silicon lottery … if you get lucky with one and not the other it could taint the results. That said I have multiple cards for each that I could test … would be interesting to see.

Please don’t listen to your local retailer, what they told you simply isn’t true. That said it’s a little easier to have an all Intel or AMD system because you only need to install one set of drivers, but performance wise it makes no difference and they will function equally well on either system.
Wow, thanks for the great comparison! I'm looking for a GPU. My cash is very limited. My setup is an AMD 4650g CPU, 16GB RAM, Corsair 650W PSU. What is the cheapest reasonable GPU to upgrade to? Not sure how much you have to spend but if a 4060 or a770 is too much then you should consider the a750 (around $200) … I haven’t tested anything below a 4060, so I can’t provide a first hand recommendation. The other option is a second hand rtx 3060, but you obviously need to be careful when buying second hand. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

I'd say if your thinking of a intel arc gpu...do some research on the direct X support for the game your wanting to mainly play...as it's reported that the main direct x arc is built for is dx11 and 12...they did say they are looking to implement older dx games but I'm not 100% on if they have or not...🤷
Force of habit from decades running teams … you always say “we” to share credit … doesn’t really apply when you are doing it all yourself, but it still feels weird to say “I” 😉
Arc A770. Better performance, 2x the VRAM, every update it gets better and faster. And you can actually use Raytracing without upscaling. The 4060 was a big letdown. A really small upgrade over the 3060. I have a 4080 in my laptop. That is a really good card. But these are expensive cards and laptops. When on a budget buy the Arc. It has a lot of potential left. And from what I heard from Intel they are working on new translation layers that should significantly boost the DX11 and DX12 performance. It is a 6nm 406mm2 chip. So the potential is there.
I had to decide whether I would test the A770 against the 4060 or 7600xt ... the 4060 and 7600 are pretty close in performance so I don't think the results will be that different, but I might run some tests to check.
They keep dropping prices to move inventory … unfortunately there are still some larger channels that keep talking about broken drivers but they have never used them … it’s misinformation at this point.

I disagree about that. Intel is suffering from years of poor management but they are in a very different position than IBM. They are slowly bringing themselves back into the game. They still have great CPU's even though AMD is a strong competitor and Arc Alchemist was their first attempt at a discrete GPU. They are getting a lot of money from the CHIPS act to grow their chip fab capabilities. I'm bullish on their future as long as Pat is leading them.
I bought a A770 16gb in Oct last year for 1440p gaming and my experience has been excellent and only getting better each month. Given GPU prices at the time and my options at that range I am beyond happy with my purchase. I ruled out the cards you mentioned for a good number of reasons, including current performance and expected improvements in drivers. My gamble paid off, and I would absolutely buy a A770 over the cards mentioned. And an A750 over the 6600 now. The 256bit memory bus on all of these cards (+ coupled with 16gb on my model) is noticable with textures turned up to max in games and the FPS staying the same as with lower textures. Just my personal experience.
Limited edition doesn’t mean the performance is different or better, it was simply the branding that Intel used, it’s like Nvidia’s Founders Edition cards. In fact, you can still buy A750 Limited Edition cards. Also a 4070 Super is a $500+ card … how would that be a reasonable comparison with a card half its price? You might want to think through this a little more in the future before commenting, but I appreciate your comment nonetheless.

The latest Intel drivers work great giving me 363 FPS max and 291 FPS avg in the latest Heaven Benchmark app at 1440p. I also have zero issues running Halo Infinite and all MCC games. FPS maxxes out at 180 fps with my 165 Hz monitor overclocked to 180 Hz.
couple of critiques. Maintain the same chart type and graphics. If companies you are comparing have a major color, you might want to use those colors. Once you establish a chart order of 2, keep them consistent. 6:24 has Intel on Top, then 7:39 Nvidia is on top. Make it easier for your audience to consume the content mate.
Appreciate your comment … will update the order to be consistent across the synthetic and gaming benchmarks … never noticed that before, so thanks for pointing it out. The colors are tougher … because I use red and blue corners in this series it works for intel and AMD, but not Nvidia.
@@blackbirdpctech overall, it was a good video, and informative
That said I have multiple cards for each that I could test … would be interesting to see.
lemme play it first, see if the differences are significant enough to record
In the video editing world I would take the Arc over the RTX hands down, don't know much about gaming.
Is that due to the additional VRAM or other features?
@@blackbirdpctech I'm sure that 16GB plays a hand in it when coupled with the hardware decoding/encoding H.264/H.265/HEVC dual media engines.
Edit -- we have one rig with a A770 and one (mine) with a 4080 Super in it. The only reason I have it over an AMD card or another A770 is because I do some 3D work on mine (Blender) as well as Handbrake.
I use AV1 which they all support, but I haven’t used my Intel card for production use cases.
@@blackbirdpctech Makes sense. I don't use AV1 (yet) but I think I read somewhere that the Arc has a decoder for it already.
Where do you find either of these cards for 300$, I can't find them for less than 400€ and the A770 is more like 500.
I just looked on Amazon (US) and there are models of both cards for $299.99 US.
@@blackbirdpctech You're right, if I look on the US amazon, they're significantly cheaper. Best price I found on our Amazon is around 360$ equivalent. Could be import tax or a weaker currency. They are still cheaper on Amazon than the reputable shops I checked before though, so thanks for the advice.
Very informative
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Intel should stick with reasonable pricing until they established that they are good which they already getting there . Maybe 1 more competitive pricing release and they can be a challenger. Take One Plus made a cheap good phone then made bank and good reputation and all of a sudden their pricing went as same as Samsung premium phones 😂😂😂
As soon as they have truly competitive hardware I think their pricing will start to rival Nvidia … that happened in CPU’s when AMD didn’t have great products.
true but their next gpu should be cheaper but still good then they can go as greedy as nvdia but if they go greedy now they wont make it haha @@blackbirdpctech
Agreed … I think it will take them two more gpu generations to catch-up, so we should have good pricing from them for a while.
PLS HELP Intel arc 770 vs rtx 3060 vs rtx 4060 vs rx 7600xt in video editing or productivity works.
A local retailer told me that intel arc gpu and amd cpus doesn't pair well. Rather told me to get intel processor. If i get an amd cou i will buy a 7500f or 7600 and for intel it will be 13400f.
Please don’t listen to your local retailer, what they told you simply isn’t true. That said it’s a little easier to have an all Intel or AMD system because you only need to install one set of drivers, but performance wise it makes no difference and they will function equally well on either system.
Intel Arc need rebar support from MB; if don't have it will only perfomance 40-50% even Old intel piece.
Just combo with modern hardware AMD or intel.
@@SamRecon yes you absolutely do need resizable bar to be turned on to extract max performance from an Intel GPU, as I mentioned in my video.
The Bruce Buffer moment was a nice touch.
Thanks … he was really cool about doing it too … great guy.
Ahhh but wait, you didn't compare video and photo editing Arc vs 4060.
That’s true, do you have any video or photo editing benchmarks that you can recommend?
@@blackbirdpctechplease compare a770 16GB with 3060ti or 4060 and AMD equivalent in Adobe PS , PP & AF and Davinci.
Wow, thanks for the great comparison! I'm looking for a GPU. My cash is very limited. My setup is an AMD 4650g CPU, 16GB RAM, Corsair 650W PSU. What is the cheapest reasonable GPU to upgrade to? I wanted to play the old DOOM games, but it says my CPU doesn't support Ray Tracing. What are my options? I played Tomb Raider 2016, the one before Rise of the TombRaider and it did okay with just the CPU, but I need more and something that will play the old DOOM games. Thanks
@@blackbirdpctech thank you. Yes, it's about $200. I will look out for good deals. I agree with the 2nd hand cards. I will never biy one unless it's a close friend I know well.
I'd say if your thinking of a intel arc gpu...do some research on the direct X support for the game your wanting to mainly play...as it's reported that the main direct x arc is built for is dx11 and 12...they did say they are looking to implement older dx games but I'm not 100% on if they have or not...🤷
I went with 7800xt Nitro +
I debated whether to test against a 7800xt or 4060 ... might redo the testing against a 7800xt when the Intel drivers get updated.
Nice video.
But who's we? 😂
Force of habit from decades running teams … you always say “we” to share credit … doesn’t really apply when you are doing it all yourself, but it still feels weird to say “I” 😉
4060🤡 A770🗿
PLS REPLY Intel arc 770 vs rtx 3060 vs rtx 4060 vs rx 7600xt in video editing or productivity works.
I would push for AV1 encoding and higher VRAM ... so the A770 would be great value for these type of workloads.
They just released XeSS 1.3 too, which provides similar image quality to dlss 3, so they really are rapidly gaining ground.
7600 is 250 right now and the 7600XT cheapest is 330 imo way better cards than these. especially the value of the 7600.
I had to decide whether I would test the A770 against the 4060 or 7600xt ... the 4060 and 7600 are pretty close in performance so I don't think the results will be that different, but I might run some tests to check.
get a AMD card for 300$ itll be better then both lol
The 7600 appears to perform below the 4060 … the 7600 xt appears to be better, but it’s also more expensive.
ReBar is extremely important for any GPU. Not just ARC GPU's 🤐
It’s helpful for Nvidia and AMD GPU’s as well however the performance impact of not using it is no where near as large as it is for Intel GPU’s.
Arc A770 or 4060?
My recommendation is in the video.
Bruce❤
He’s a legend!
the sparkle arc a770 has been around 285 for weeks now
They keep dropping prices to move inventory … unfortunately there are still some larger channels that keep talking about broken drivers but they have never used them … it’s misinformation at this point.
In my country its less pricey then rtx 3060 . And after watching this video i decided to buy arc a770 for my first dream pc build.
@@unknownperson815 how's your experience with the card?
@@brahimsaad6287 its a beast 💪 😎 for gaming without a doudt. I didn't face any problem so far. But if u are interested in running AI model with gpu (e.g. Stable Diffusion) , then u have to use your technical web surfing skill to get it up and running. Because unlike nvidia its not plugnplqy for intel . But rest assured u will face no problem running ai model after setting up. Works like a beast 💪 for ai too even in high res pic. Just u have to manually tinker with ""ipex""" or openvino or oneapi or directml. IPEX is best for windows intel gpu support and many AI webui supports it. I tried all of it but IPEX is the most effective one .
“4k will not work in most games with Ultra settings”
What do you mean by that? I do it every day
What I actually said was “4k will not run above 60Hz in most games at ultra settings” … that was the reason I didn’t test it at 4k.
Is the 4060 better than the arc a770? It has better performance and has dlss and rt. u cant compare the arc a770 to a 3070 if it doesnt beat the 4060
Not sure I understand your comment ... did I compare it to a 3070 in the video? I recommended the A770 as an upgrade option for 3060 owners but I don't recall mentioning the 3070.
I own an a770 16 and a 3060ti.
The A770 is by far a better card.
Agreed ... with the driver issues now fixed it should be given a second look by anyone shopping in this price range.
I hope Intel figures it out. More competition is always better for the consumer. Plus I really think some their cards look really nice.
I agree … I have high hopes for Battlemage.
LMAO the best they can do is not even match the 4060?
Unfortunately that’s what the data shows … hopefully Battlemage will be much stronger with more robust drivers.
Nah, Nvidia or AMD are bettee...
The only way we are going to get price reductions is if we have a strong third option with Intel ... the A770 is a great card now that the software is fixed ... hopefully Battlemage will be more competitive.
@@blackbirdpctech certanly, we do Need a 3rd competitor on market... But I find Intel ARC very RAW cards.. Intel has always been behind in graphical technology than Nvidia or ATI /AMD ..
They haven't always been behind, they simply never went all-in on the discrete GPU market, they focused on integrated graphics. It will take them some time to catch-up with their hardware ... hopefully not too long.
@@blackbirdpctech right, Intel formerly made integrated graphics, but their cards have always been loosing to other integrated competitors and have always been on a bottom of the list even among other integrated video chips.... I see Intel ARC as budget cards...
Hopefully that will change with battlemage
No competition in my opinion. The 4060 is better and cheaper. And I’d rather have a tried and tested company’s gpus instead of a 1st gen product
I think a lot of people feel that way, if it was a way for Intel to mature their drivers for Battlemage then it still might be a successful approach.
Nice video, you opened my eyes on intel gpu thanks!
Thanks … I was genuinely surprised too.

0:52 huh, why not intel in blue corner and nvidia in green corner? lol
For a very basic reason … I didn’t want to pay Bruce to record multiple versions of his intro for me.
You dont buy any of those, you either buy a 6600, 7600xt or a 6700xt.
I plan to test the a770 against the 7600 xt … they have the same vram, so it should be interesting.
@@blackbirdpctech intel is doomed to become the next ibm unless they can transform into the next tsmc and just give up on gpu and cpu design.
The 7600xt is going to win that battle, specially when it comes to power efficiency
@@GrandeAdventure a a770 above a 7600xt and a 6700xt both of whom are faster. Lol you are a deluded intelfanboy
4070 super, also comparing a limited edition vs a regular component non LE yeah not even a good comparison
You might want to think through this a little more in the future before commenting, but I appreciate your comment nonetheless.
you should just get 3060Ti instead, ~same price.
The 4060 out performs the 3060Ti by about 20% and it has DLSS 3 … the extra VRAM is nice but just get a 4060 Ti 16GB if that’s an issue.
