The only downside is the screen resolution, you'll need to change the scaling and use some shaders to make the games look better, but after that they look really great.

Very well produced video. And of course I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I find unfair the Powkiddy RGB10 doesn't appear in the list, since it is a solid console, even having better build quality than the RK2020.
Can you tell us which ones of these list come pre-loaded with hands for someone not walking to hunt down for emulators. And don't say Evercade because I own it but there are not much games yet.
do any of these have a sleep/standby function? i have a retroid pocket 1 and i hate how you cant shut it down or even turn off the screen.i wanted something small for at work i can turn on and off to play some puzzle games but itll just corrupt the sd card
I love my retroid pocket two. Heard about it from ur vids. I was playing on retroid os for a while but recently switched to retroarch with reset collection as my front end
I have a retroid pocket 2 and an rg351p and have to say the rg351p gets the nod for me just for convenience and the quality if buttons etc. You can play for hours on it with no discomfort, its easy to access all your roms, the screen is lovely, build quality is awesome and just day to day quality of life it outshines the rp2 for me. Just my opinion...
Did you happen to receive your unit yet? I ordered one myself because of the overwhelmingly positive review and to find that there's noticeable input lag on the controller on every emulator I use. Have you noticed the same on yours?
@@Zaros1337 I haven’t had any noticeable lag with mine, I did however have issues connecting to any type of WiFi, hopefully you don’t have that issue as well.
Awesome intro🔥🔥yep the OGA set the pace for somany of these handhelds I give em that. Man the RK2020 was my first retro emulator it will always have a special place in my heart. But the build quality is pants 🤣. Evercade to me is legitimate and classy. Anbernic are expert builders such great quality and playability across the board. Retroid done a good job to bring android to the market. Thanks for an awesome video I know time went into this👍🏾🔥
Great video, just what I've been looking for. Thanks! I'm thinking of buying your no1 or no2 but a QQ.... Do those come with the games installed? Also, is Mame installed? I'm a sucker for my childhood arcade gems, Robocop is a must! Any sensible reply is welcome! Thanks n subscribed!
Game Boy Micro had a 2" screen. GBA and SP had a 2.9" screen. DS and DS lite had an even 3". So 2.4 falls about halfway between the GB Micro and GBA, 3.5" is bigger than the DS. 2.8" and 3" are pretty much spot-on for comparison to GBA and DS.
@@Invictus901 Correct. It's also an emulator matter as some old games appear in a smaller area of the screen. I'd say, for some games 2.4" is fine, but for others - such as games from the 80s (Atari, etc) or for Mario kart it's way too small. But all together the Bittboy/PlayGo are just too tiny overall, hard to keep in hand when playing. By the way, the RG300 has a 2.8" screen despite what everybody are saying - including the boxes - the actual screen diagonal is only 2.8" (not 3.0")
Is the Retroid pocket 2 really much better than all the others I saw the video and I noticed that the third one has more buttons like you said N64 games so does the retroid competes to that light does N64 games really need all those buttons
Yep the Retroid 2 caught my eye as well. I dont know anything about these things though. I'm really just looking to play DS and SNES games mostly with the occasional GBA game. I want to see if I can use gameshark on some of these games though. Like with pokemon some of them require trading to evolve which is annoying. I want to find away around that road block.
Great list..well done. I ended up getting both the RP2 and the RG351 and love both though I tend to reach for the RG351 first cuz it feels so damn good in the hands and I have been mostly playing GBA games.
They aren't allowed to ship with copyrighted games but many do anyways, and adding games is as easy as dragging and dropping the ROM files onto the SD card.
My $5 game boy 400 in 1 does the trick, and still loving and enjoying playing with the console, cheap and fun retro games. Although I had to mod it to slow down the games, so it's just like the old ones. If you are ok with a little bit of soldering, you can do it DIY.
@@joeshlong9614 I feel it's a decent device (I own one myself) but the android version and SoC hold it back significantly. I was rather disappointed by the limitations of it after coming from a GPD Xd Plus with hindge issues
@@youreinmydreamsnow why you choose rp2 if you have gpd+? gpd has much better hardware and costs more 2.5 times. @@ARIFMOMETR I got the GPD XD+ for free but it has hinge problems so I wanted to try something different. RP2 was new at the time so I went for it. Don't really regret it, but it's definitely not the best emulation device you can get right now,

The Retroid Pocket is very good, but even though it didn't come out this year, the GPD XD+ with LineageOS (Android 9) is still more powerful then all of the handhelds mentioned. It is still more expensive though.
My Retroid Pocket 2 never got opened. There was such a delay in the shipping of my unit that it arrived one week after my GPD Win Max. Unfortunately I had a week of advanced emulation benchmarking on the MAX and I couldnt go back to anything else. I'll give it a try one of these days.
RP2 is a beast for the price. My only complaint is the button quality. If it has slightly more premium feel to the push it would be the undisputed king imo. I hope to see them improved with the next retroid model
What's the benefit of something like these devices over using a smartphone with something like the Razer Kishi controller? Is it about not having to download and optimize emulators? Or is it more about not exposing your smartphone? I don't really get it, but I'm a bit older than the target audience for these devices I think, so I'm genuinely curious as to the use case scenarios for these.
You can totally play all this stuff on your phone. Shit, you can run Dolphin on your phone and most of it will run pretty well. The draw here is the form factor; to be able to feel like you're playing on an ACTUAL handheld. I know for myself, personally, playing on my phone, even with a controller, just leaves me open to being distracted. It's much nicer to have a dedicated gaming device. That's not even to mention that it's MUCH cheaper than a phone powerful enough to run these emulators.
Great video. I would put the RG351P first, because, well honestly I don’t have a Retroid Pocket 2 so it’s crap.😜Actually will be ordering an RP2 for my soon to be launched retro channel. Great video, love my RG351P, but I wish the screen was 4:3 like the RP2.
When you say that the Retroid Pocket 2 syncs to your Xbox, do you mean that it works with xcloud or something? Just want to know what you mean and how it works.
Hey guys, so on this best retro handheld of 2020, the Retroid Pocket 2, how do I get Street Fighter III running at a decent speed? I have three versions of RetroArch (some one that only has a GBA core, plus "RetroArch" that I believe came with the built-in apps and I've updated to 1.9.0 as well as "RetroArch Plus") but fail to install a bunch of the cores, and the arcade (FBA/Neo/MAME anything) cores I have either won't run it or in the case of FB Neo on RetroArch plus, plays at about half speed with huge stutters. Or should I just give up and go back to my Pi4 in a PiBoy DMG, which is the #3 retro handheld of 2020 yet plays all of this flawlessly without errors? (Yes I am being snarky but I'm also actually looking for help) BTW I did the upgrade to Android 8.1 since I read it should help. Should I just give up on Android and switch to Retroid OS?
Even if I already have Retroid Pocket 2, I plan to buy, probly next year, a different retro handled. RP2 is great but has something that need to be made better.
Hey retro, How's life going ? I was thinking for a while to ask for ur opinion about hand held console. 1. Is it worth to purchase an old Gameboy ( i used to have a Gameboy advance sp) and then reconstruct it to a custom build Or 2 . Buy a recommended top 3 console from this video for cheaper price .
I'm noticing when I search for these things on Amazon to buy one I get results back from different companies but the same model devices. Are they all the same or do I need to buy one and stay away from another etc.
So.... I love your content, but I have a good question for you? Is there a good Retro handheld, that has a Paddle? I really want one for playing games like Atari 2600 Breakout.

Very well produced video. And of course I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I find unfair the Powkiddy RGB10 doesn't appear in the list, since it is a solid console, even having better build quality than the RK2020.
What's the Postage to the UK on the Retroid pocket 2? Great video Brandon!
I want to know if I can find a UK seller so I can avoid the duty tax
This channel is the reason I bought a RG351P and I was not disappointed . Thank you and a very merry and retro Xmas.
Can you tell us which ones of these list come pre-loaded with hands for someone not walking to hunt down for emulators. And don't say Evercade because I own it but there are not much games yet.
Check out the retroid pocket 2 comes with lots of games from NES all the way to N64 and PS1
00:54 I saw that in the lower right corner of the phone screen there is a KinHank GP430 handheld
do any of these have a sleep/standby function? i have a retroid pocket 1 and i hate how you cant shut it down or even turn off the screen.i wanted something small for at work i can turn on and off to play some puzzle games but itll just corrupt the sd card
Just ordered the Orange RP2, thanks again for these awesome reviews.
Hoooold up what’s that all-white game boy with the inverted display
Thank you so much for this Great List I just ordered My Retroid Pocket 2 :)
Thanks for an awesome video I know time went into this👍🏾🔥
We couldn't agree with you more, thanks for watching!
I bought 1 and 2! Thanks for the detailed video!
Glad we could help! :)
Which is a decent screen size ? I've heard 2.4 inch is quite small, 3.5 inch is great, how about the 2.8 and 3.0 inch screens ?
By the way, the RG300 has a 2.8" screen despite what everybody are saying - including the boxes - the actual screen diagonal is only 2.8" (not 3.0")
Great round up. Been waiting for the RG351P to arrive for about 6 weeks now. Can't wait 😬
That sucks, had mine after a week.
Love the production values! Also hot damn I didn't realise how many were on the market!
I knew you wouldn't disappoint!
Excellent video... But... No space left for ps vita?
Purchased after watching this! Thanks man
Season finale, here's to the channel's growth in 2021!!
This may be a dumb question, but do these systems come with the games?
I own both RG351P and Retroid Pocket. But RG351P is definitely number 1 for me, rank 2 is RG350M, Retroid Pocket 2 is rank 3.
Can you explain to me why you like the others more?
Do these come with games or do they have too be downloaded
You received a like, just because of the song in the intro!
Totally agree with your list Brandon. Bloody brilliant lad. Huge huge thanks. You totally confirmed my buying choices.
Thanks Hunter!
Great list..well done. I ended up getting both the RP2 and the RG351 and love both though I tend to reach for the RG351 first cuz it feels so damn good in the hands and I have been mostly playing GBA games.
I've always wondered if all of these devices already come with the games installed or is there a easy way to add more?
They aren't allowed to ship with copyrighted games but many do anyways, and adding games is as easy as dragging and dropping the ROM files onto the SD card.
My $5 game boy 400 in 1 does the trick, and still loving and enjoying playing with the console, cheap and fun retro games. Although I had to mod it to slow down the games, so it's just like the old ones. If you are ok with a little bit of soldering, you can do it DIY.
Retroid pocket 2 is by far the best for the price of any of the devices that came out this year. Maybe it’s because I have one.
Very true, however you get what you pay for
@@joeshlong9614 I feel it's a decent device (I own one myself) but the android version and SoC hold it back significantly. I was rather disappointed by the limitations of it after coming from a GPD Xd Plus with hindge issues
@@youreinmydreamsnow yeah the device seems really good but could’ve been executed better.
@@youreinmydreamsnow why you choose rp2 if you have gpd+? gpd has much better hardware and costs more 2.5 times.
But all these consoles is trash including gpd+ in comparison with my realme 5 pro with 712 snapdragon 4/128gb and price less then 200$, but it hasn't gamepad and I don't like external gamepads, I have already tried it.
@@ARIFMOMETR I got the GPD XD+ for free but it has hinge problems so I wanted to try something different. RP2 was new at the time so I went for it. Don't really regret it, but it's definitely not the best emulation device you can get right now,
For me personally, I recommend the RG351P if on a budget, and the RG351M if you want to shill out a bit more for metal materials and built in wifi
I ordered a Retroid Pocket 2 Handheld Retro Gaming System 8Bit color for $90 total should be receiving it this week
I've just ordered the Retroid Pocket 2 with your advices
Will I have to purchase games online once I buy these retro handheld? Or does this work differently
I've got the 280V and RG350M and love them. Holding out on the newer models until anbernic releases a 351p vertical variant. Love the looks of the emuelec interface but want a RG300ish style. Another great vid, thanks for your suggestions !
It's a decent little handheld, you should give it a try!
For playing gba games , would the retroid pocket 2 , bittboy pocket go v2, or the rg351p be better?
RP2 is a beast for the price. My only complaint is the button quality. If it has slightly more premium feel to the push it would be the undisputed king imo. I hope to see them improved with the next retroid model
great video as always
Awesome video! Cheers!
The rg280v is good but mine needs to be plugged in to the USB C to be working 🙏🏽
My psp from 2004 was so ahead of it's time
Great video. I would put the RG351P first, because, well honestly I don’t have a Retroid Pocket 2 so it’s crap.😜Actually will be ordering an RP2 for my soon to be launched retro channel. Great video, love my RG351P, but I wish the screen was 4:3 like the RP2.
Swear I wait like most of the year for this video! 😂
haha, thanks for watching Rob!

The RG280V is about 98 dollars where I live, should I pick it up?
1 yes, 2 is the bittboy pocket go v2 it's the same thing as a 350 but can go into one's pocket and easy to replace battery.
3rd place for me was the pi boy Dmg. I can’t wait to get it in the mail
Even if I already have Retroid Pocket 2, I plan to buy, probly next year, a different retro handled. RP2 is great but has something that need to be made better.
Ya I love mine but def not perfect
@@nightwolf69lisa download
@@nightwolf69lisa some preinstalled in retroid OS and way to download not hard to find roms though
Where do you get the retroid pocket 2 at?
Hey retro, How's life going ? I was thinking for a while to ask for ur opinion about hand held console.
1. Is it worth to purchase an old Gameboy ( i used to have a Gameboy advance sp) and then reconstruct it to a custom build
Or
2 . Buy a recommended top 3 console from this video for cheaper price .
Very nice Vid! Sittin´ here, enjoying my RG350 and I still love it! :)
Greetings from Germany and stay healthy!

I like the Piboy DMG the best personally. Retroid Pocket 2 has far too much input lag thanks to the android OS, and it's performance is not great.
I'm noticing when I search for these things on Amazon to buy one I get results back from different companies but the same model devices. Are they all the same or do I need to buy one and stay away from another etc.
Piboy still going stronk 2021!
So.... I love your content, but I have a good question for you? Is there a good Retro handheld, that has a Paddle? I really want one for playing games like Atari 2600 Breakout.
