I was literally exclusively aiming in the circle lol. I've been slowly figuring things out- switching ammo types and what not and now this is a game changer. Naval is fire. I wish more people played it.
Thanks a lot for the tips. The auto targeting part was great all by itself, although I liked all of your suggestions. I was getting very frustrated with the stupid targeting constantly switching ships on me because another came into view where I was pointing my shots. I never thought to look for a way in the controls to help with that. Turning off auto targeting did the trick wonderfully. 😊
Your settings and guide are a godsend! I was struggling as hell to hit people and farm score in the current event, even in arcade. I wish I had seen this sooner. I was about to go insane playing naval. I wish I could like this vid a thousand times!
Numerous WW2 blue water ships are capable of firing VT shells from their main armament at enemy aircraft. Some ships, such as the Dido, were built specifically for this purpose. Unfortunately, the game doesn't provide any help with aiming these at aircraft. It used to be possible to set the AI gunners to shoot at air targets and allow them to control the main armament. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible for blue water ships.
The reason it's no longer possible to have the AI direct your primary armament is because the AI would also completely ignore all of the aiming mechanics you have to contend with as a player and consistently land shells on targets with zero effort from you. It was called zombie-ing. Players abused the mechanic, so Gaijin removed it.
I decided to play bluewater as long as last time i was playing there were no bluewater. I gone mad how did they always hit me in realidtic at 10 km And then this green V to sim for... Thank you !
So there is no way to avoid this continuos scrolling to adjust zeroing in realistic? That drives me crazy. My crew clearly know how far the enemy are because it is written under the targeted ship. But if i dont correct the distance with mouse scroll its not changeing. If i select an other target then reselect the old one, its updating. Isnt some faster way?
This video almost wants to make me go full in on naval. Range firing reminds me of the Atlanta in WoWS where you rain HE constantly. But I love tanks so much...
@@ChildofFire bots have gotten a lot better, they rarely miss. Although, if you go backward, they miss almost every time. The script always assumes you're coming closer, not going away. When in naval RB. I wait 2-3 minutes before spawning so the bots can target each other instead of me. Then I only have to deal with 1-2 at a time. Funnily enough, some bots now don't spawn immediately and also wait a bit.
Its not difficult. Its mostly about learning the weaknessess of individual ships and where the thickest magazines are or if its a ship youre better off crew draining. The mode is also extremely buggy and broken as of late and loaded to the brim with annoying auto aim bots (no not the gaijin bots with simple names and spawn in the same things like Krasny Krym, skr-1, tashkent...etc.) these are users with simple or super long names of gibberish and have thousands of deaths in one or two prem ships and thats it. I find it sad I have to explain because I have unfortunately met people who claim there are no bot scripts. A normal company would do something about this but in the end an account buying a premium makes Gaijin money and thats all that matters to the greedy bastards.
Do you know what the "target pointing" button does? I tried using it in the test drive and there is no indication that it does anything. Great explanation. I'm not a fan of how the vertical targeting circle sticks to the ship when you adjust the elevation. It's not good feedback for the player.
Target pointing works similarly to the lock target button. You point at a target and press it, and it will try to get a lock. It’s much more “jumpy” than lock target though, but it’s useful when you get that occasional bug where the lock target button doesn’t work.
What I would add for rb naval aiming, instead of raping your scroll wheel just aim up or down of target and use select target to reset guns on the targeted enemy, scroll will say tnx for that.
@@StigmADiabolicuM666 I mean your control won’t be accurate, not the game’s inherent accuracy. Since you can’t always move the mouse exactly vertically, your aim always invariably moves sideways a little, making it inaccurate. It’s also harder to move the range the exact amount you want to, when using mouse movement. You might have very accurate hand-eye coordination, but other people don’t.
@@kkang2828 There is nothing impeding movement of my mouse in any direction, but being few millimeters off don't matter as much because of gun dispersion at longer distance. If you have option on your mouse to 'unlock' scroll than use that by all means. :)
I've only played British coastal, but like you say, it is more difficult. The small boats don't have a fire control room, so you don't get a lead point, just range. Also some of the guns are low muzzle velocity so take a loopy trajectory and are hard to spot for fall of shot. It can be better to switch to the auxiliary caliber, usually an autocannon, on the costals, since you can visually spot the tracers and adjust fire easily.
I always say shoot where the enemy is going to be not where they are. If you have a 5 travel time in ballistic flight and the enemy is gaining 200m every 5 seconds then set your guns 200m closer then the target is when you fire.

thank God you did a vid on this, the one thing that puts me off naval is the aiming and I already know this vid will help out a massive amount
There are better guides out there you know, made by people who actually know and care about naval, unlike TEC.
Want to know more?
Lmao finally a naval guy, thank you shipmate

TF shells have it even worse. There’s no way to set the fuze to account for lead. At least with VT you can try to aim manually.

Really nice Video Tec ! Finally understood how to shoot in naval

Ranging shots with Atlanta is fun XD, literally 127mm machinegun
so how do you do any of this when not on pc.... the mousewheel doesnt exist for console players
here from the stream
thats actually a usefull video, love it
Aim at the waterline under main battery turrets. Video over

Naval is awwsome once you know how to aim thanks tec

When I play HMS Churchill how come I don't have the measuring range showed up while I use my binoculars?
in realistic, where your shells go over terrain, how do you see if they are missing short or missing far?
You can use the top left indicator to determine the location where those last rounds fell
very nice
Milldots are useful too
Now if only Navel weren't chock full of bots.
Naval AB is kind of alright. Enduring confrontation is basically bot free
@denisdenak to bad, it's not up 24/7 like heli ec

I think its better have bots to fill in the empty slots
Its better that or waiting for hours to get a single match
Its to screwd up to play mostly so every one avoids it..

Edit: found one after 5 minute's :D
It’s only at the lower tiers, which are unpopular with both actual players and bots.
IDK what system WoWS uses, Gaijin should use that system.
